She just summarized the whole mindset of science class. I had the exact same tables and chairs (in highschool tho) and just the image of the creaking of the chairs is so nostalgic.
true. i agree.
omg you guys had backs on your chairs for the science lab tables???? we just had stools, and double science block, so hunching over for two whole hours
@@grey6703 my back hurts thinking about it
My French but those blacked up table is the heaviest thing in the whole f****** world
NNOOOOO…. I was legit just about to say that 😭😭…. We had actual like bar table things tho… like they weren’t movable tables they were legit built into the floor of the building
My science teacher didn’t care where we sat as long as we did work…I sat in the box from his chair most of the year
The box the chair came in?
@@boxingguru4221 yes, he got a new chair that he bought because he had a bad back and the school ones sucked and he never got rid of the box
In the box or on the box?
I love that. Your own little fort.
same. i sat in the back of the classroom where no one would bother me.
She’s a good teacher, seriously thank you. Kids are not little robots to be programmed to obey for the sake of obeying. I wish more teachers understood this.
They don’t need to be sitting on a couch in class lol.
@Lily's Variety of Things that only happens to girls lol, it’s a shame they force you guys to even have to go to school anyway. Should be a straight pipe to arranged marriage for 99% of ya
@Lily's Variety of Things omggg I remember the hair being ripped out 😭😭😭

After graduating I realized that high school is closer to a prison then a university
For real though I feel like they used to give us hard things to "prepare us for college" but then college was easy by comparison, and yet somehow they still didn't prepare us for college
@@mermaidismyname omg! Teeeaaa! 🤣
Ope. 😅 there it is
True
There was literally a prison like a mile at most away from my high school
@A yes this is so true. I learned the hard way that most people are only friends with you so everyone knows they don’t have 0 friends…
I had a teacher in my school in 5th grade who tried that. Unfortunately she got the “poorly behaved” kid. He threw one of the yoga ball chair things at the smart board once and broke it. That was the end of that.
Edit: and yes this was public school
It’s always people like that that ruin it for everyone.
@@liviwaslost fr then no one likes them and then they get upset when no one wants to be friends with them 💀
😢 That's sad that his recklessness ruined it for all of you... My only smart board story was when my Mum embarrassed me. She dropped off my lunch and wrote on the smart board with the whiteboard markers "Alisdair your lunch is in your desk." Luckily, the teacher managed to get it cleaned off.
Tf is a "smart board"?
@@bobbybrown475 it’s like a giant board that’s connected to their computer.
Love this! My high school started doing that once I graduated. I feel like it would have helped my concentration in class.
“She’s a good teacher” **pterodactyl noises**
I thought I was the only person who noticed that for a sec
😭😭😭😭
My lab literally has boxes underneath the tables and our legs don't fit so we're awkwardly too far from the table at all times
I so wish I had had flexible seating when I was in school. I have a lot of physical disabilities and being forced to sit in a very hard back chair all day was incredibly painful, but nobody gave a shit. I just dealt with the pain. It would’ve been nice to be able to sit somewhere I was comfortable. Thanks for doing this for future generations! It’s great to see some progress.
Even when there wasn't assigned seating I found that mostly the seat you used on the first day was the same one on the last day. I liked to sit near the front so it was easier to see what was on the board. I missed the first day of Grade 1 and we had assigned seating but the school let me come in early and see the classroom etc. as my sister was a planned C-Section (I was an emergency so they didn't want an encore presentation). One of the things they let me do to get settled was to pick a desk and put my supplies in it.
I wish my teachers would do that
Im in 7th grade and i so wish that we had flexible seating. That would be so great!
I'm in 8th grade and I had flexible seating least year in ELA, I'm sorry you don't get that chance
I loved using bar stools that were too high for the tables, I'm so glad you kept them!
I had a classroom with flexible seating in middle school. Easily was my favorite room to work in, and as long as we didn't fall asleep in the softer seating it was fine
The wheeze at the beginning sent me 😭
Flexible seating never worked for me kids want to sit by buddies...
So at begining of school year it was open seating...sit where you like! Past 2 weeks seating chart !😄
I let my students pick their partners and the behaviour issues have been insane … I have picked their seats for them until they can earn the right to sit next to friends 😅 flexible seating sounds great but you need 1. The infrastructure for it and 2. Kids need to know how not to mess around with their buddies ….
It’s not for everyone but it is aspirational? My school is across the board a little wild 😅
All my teachers in jr high and high school had flexible seating and I loved it. They even built a few “standing desks” so that students could stand and do their work instead of sitting if they wanted to. They hand built them, on their own time, with their own money and resources. I loved my teachers so much. They were incredible
I had a teacher who had a great idea for those blacktop tables. We used liquid chalk markers and would write on the desks. They're easily erasable, and it makes explaining concepts and working together just a little bit less dull
I see you Mrs! She was hittn the intro to “TrillVille Some Cut” 😂🤣
My first thought
@@deurekag right on
Glad my brain ain't the only one that went there automagically lol

Pro tip:
If your chair is squeaking: you either need lubrication, or to tighten a screw.
My mom was a sp.ed. teacher mod-severe and was complaining about the noise of the wobble stools and tried to have them removed. As a parent of a child with ADHD and ASD this upset me...(and her grandchild she claimed to understand so well). Having flexibility is amazingly important. Even for the kids that "need lots of structure" there's a time and place for both to be implemented. ✨✌️🌈
ok since people are asking for an explanation, basically at a party noah was pressured into jumping into a pool and he sprained his ankle from it. but recently in college people are trying to take advantage of him and they are pressuring him to drink (he isn’t) but they are trying to pressure him to do stuff and someone spiked his drink at a party but luckily someone caught it so he didn’t drink it.
I absolutely loved flexible seating, even for myself. That has been one of the best parts of remote learning. Being comfortable while learning so so important.
My 4th grade teacher used Flexible seating. By far my favorite teacher in elementary school.
Love these teachers :)
The Laugh after she's a good teacher🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍
We had wiggly chairs, office chairs, standing desks, bean bags, rocking chairs, a moveable bean bag seat, it was the life. I’m not even talking about all of them. (This was is my sixth grade class, second grade class and in the social workers offices)
" e, er,e, er" 🤣🤣, I find that really funny, people say my humors broken 😅😒
my 4th grade teacher did this as well! every week we got new seats and it was honestly amazing!!!
Yeeeessss, I had a huge problem with staying in an uncomfortable chair all day, I loved the flexibility and it really helped me pay attention and helped me stay calm. I can barely pay attention at high school, I'm having worse mental issues and I'm so much more tired at the end of the day but when the teacher let me chill on the floor in the back I got a way better grade than I ever had in the class, just by sitting on the floor.
In the UK this isn't a thing.... but I do love the idea of this.
I'd be in her class like " what it is gurl what's up" 😭😂
I love these types of teachers, flexible seating actually helped me focus last year, I got to sit with my friends, and was able to sprawl out instead of being stuck in a desk all day.
"She's a good teacher PFFFHEHHHHHHH"
Sounds like a productive environment
Finally a good teacher 😊 who cares and takes the time to understand
That sounds like the DOPEST classroom 🤩🤩
My most favorite teachers were the ones that were super fun, themed their rooms from their favorite things so we got to know them, gave us reasons to want to learn like free seating or math equations to win stickers or posters and stuff. I always aced those classes
Personally as a student I LOVE the science tables bc they always had so much room. At least compared to actual desks it was amazing.
Yes queen. Gosh, she's so perfect. Her attitude, outlook, love of her students, her style, everything. She's a cutie
She’s one of the good 👩🏫
Please be my teacher I need a teacher like that your awesome!!
Lol in all of my highschool science classes, there are like 4 out of 30 chairs that are short. And usually you're lucky if you get the small chair cause the bigger ones are very uncomfortable
AW! My fave teacher let us sit backward and use the desks behind ours, or let us sit on the tables so we were all chill. It was my fave class, she really didn't care where we sat as long as we were engaged and learning! Sometimes we'd lay on a table or on the floor while we all group read books haha
Mrs Woolley in 5th!!
I just watched her video about how she likes school and at the end she said I have a bunch of flexible seating. Now I scroll 1 and she’s talking about flexible seating no joke!
One of my teachers is the same, she’s hot wobble chairs, lap desks, small rugs, blankets, exercise balls, normal desk and chair, and standing desks. I personally use a standing desk and swing my foot forward and backward. It definitely helps me focus.
Ms woolly is my fav UA-camr teacher
I loved rocking in those chairs so much
Our science class rooms used to have really high benches with bar stools with no back and your knees would bang the desk and it was THE most uncomfortable classroom I have been in. Thank goodness this year they are changed to actual plastic chairs and desks.
The middle school that I went to used to be a junior high. So I got the class that used to be a science lab. We still used desks but occasionally we'd use the tall built in tables. And the room next to us had a stage it it for like the drama room and now they're all just normal classrooms.
I had no idea what flexible seating was until I started working as a paraeducator.
I have sever adhd and I have lots of trouble sitting still and our chairs are really old so when teachers go out of their way it just makes me so happy
Yo why could I not have teachers like that
Favorite teacher alert 🚨
Am I the only one that prefers to sit at a desk
My teacher has this system where every day/week, she would pick names and those people could use the tables and the wobbly chairs, and the tables have those little handle things so you can make it a standing table if you dont want to sit down for a long time. It’s pretty nice lol
HAD ME AT *hmmm* 2 Seconds!!!
WHY DO MORE TEACHERS NOT DO THII*screeches*S
I honestly prefer a desk over some beanie chair or sofa, especially if I’m going to be writing or reading. Developing back pain is a real thing ☹️
I had AP classes in high school and our teachers never cared where we sat. Many of us would bring blankets and pillows and sit on the floor to study or watch lectures. The principal also let us independent study wherever in the school during the weeks leading to exams. Some of us would sit in the field outside others in the libraries or random halls or the gym etc. our school had some of the highest test scores in the district. Once so tests were over we basically played board games and watched movies the rest of the year.
“she’s a good teacher” *eagle screech*
flexible seating was so fun as a kid :D
Consider the sound the seats made I would have been that one student to start singing Sum Cut by Trillville.
IYKYK
Why when she described those tables and chairs I realized almost instantly that’s the ones we have in my MIDDLE SCHOOL science class😭✋
“She’s a good teacher EEEEEEE🦅🦅🦅🦅”
where are these teachers when you need them
I love that this woman ditched the fake eyelashes. She pretty enough. She doesn't need them
My science teacher let's me just sit on top of the table- we have 3 science blacktop tables, one goes in the very back near the sink and two of them finish off the U that the other tables are supposed to make. My science teacher makes a seating chart but she is completely chill with letting me and my friends sit on top of the table in the very back. For the entire semester shes been all about allowing us to do what we need to to help ourselves focuse and most times for me its sitting on top of the table- it's just way more comfortable for me-
My chronic pain riddled ass would have LOVED beanbag chairs in middle/highschool omfg
Best. Teacher. Ever. Love you Bri.
The black top science tables were the best to sleep on because they stayed cold the longest out of any table I've ever slept on
“She’s a good teacher.”
ÆÆÆ
I love when teachers have seating options
You summarized my math class
You can add a bit of sewing machine oil to reduce the creaking
Those science tables are high and its not because their for highschoolers. Even high schoolers used barstool style chairs. It was like one of those plastic assembly style chairs but on a barstool base.
one of my teachers lets us sit on cushioned benches, fluffy rugs, and soft chairs. like yas-
I’ve gotten so used to a regular table and chair that if I don’t have it I struggle paying attention, unless it’s a bean bag or couch
For many years, one of the fifth grade teachers at my elementary school did smth where 2 kids share a desk and can switch between sitting at the desk or around the room and even tho I switched schools pretty early in that school year, I thought that was kind of cool. I think it was in part a combination of not having enough desks and a small classroom but ut was a good solution, I think.
What I didn’t like was when my 6th grade Math and English teacher suddenly made a rotating seating plan for on certain days you’d either sit on the desk or on the floor but there was nothing extra to sit on other than like 2 bean bag chairs that same few ppl always grabbed. I think most kids enjoy the option of floor or desk if provided but dude it sucks to sit on the floor in front of other desks
I love miss Woolley
She needs to be my teacher
My English teacher lets us pick if we want to sit on a chair or an exercise ball which is the first teacher I have that with and I love it so much
She's a good teacher
Pterodactyl Sounds
I wish so badly I could do this in my science classroom. All I have is the black tables and stools with no backs. My students hate them but there’s nothing I can do. I don’t have enough money to buy them all chairs.
Flexible seating is where there’s rolling scoop chairs and so and so
You can cut the legs off the chairs too. Just make sure to put stops under them
One of my teachers has flexible seating and it’s awesome
My social studies teacher and my ELA teacher does this!
When I was a freshman my math room had those tall tables for some reason and because I was only 4 11ish I barely fit at them standing I was literally like the shortest kid there. Im 5 10ish now so id be fine but back then it sucked. No chair either we had to stand (they had like 5 chairs so firdt people there got them)
Oh, jeez, you sprouted like a weed!
She is way better than my teacher
Those science tables brought back memories of biology my sophomore year. My teacher was also the boys varsity basketball coach. He had one of his players sit with me and joked that I should help him out on tests. I asked him why he just didn’t pass him instead of trying to involve me as well. The look on his face seemed to show he had not considered that. He was such a moron. 🤦🏻♂️
i love flexible seating
Brings me memories of my 4th grade teacher-😔😔
I like to sit at my desk at home… just in the most weirdest positions that are actually comfortable u could think of
I hope she had a few desks in her old classroom. 😅 I couldn't just work on a couch or a bean bag chair. It be so annoying for me. I want to have a level surface that I can lean over and have everything spread out. Hence... A desk or a table. A chair with a back is preferred lol.
Exactly, our school division had a group that was a joke. It was something about student leadership. Anyways, they put on a conference and tried to encourage that the division needed stationary bikes in classrooms. Everyone thought it was wonderful. I'm glad I was able to be the downer... "Have you ever sat on a bike for an extended period of time and where's the surface to do work on?" I wouldn't have minded a couch though. My Grandma has one that you can pull down a cushion and it turns into a table with cup holders. Even without that feature there are apparently lap desks. I know when doing online school I just use a binder or book as a hard surface. Mind you a lot of it is all just 100% online so there's hardly any paperwork involved. I did sign up for a math class with a school that does have PDF worksheets that can be printed filled out and scanned. I much prefer that to what my other school wanted which was to type math in boxes. That was ridiculous!
“She’s a good teacher🦅🦅🦅” PERFECTLY SAID😭😭😭😭😭😭
Yeah my math teacher has a work out bike with a desk for us I love them !!!
“She’s a good teacher ✋🏼😌”
Bro our school stools are new and they are wayyyyy to high for our old table so I feel you on that
My science teacher was the same way. I literally loved her and learned so much easier
