This 10 minutes covered Everything my 3 credit hour class taught me in using SketchUp. So Helpful! Yes, we were given models to edit and create, but The ESSENTIALS I should have learned on day one were included here. Thank you for the quality content. I will be using this channel for similar software in the future.
Dude, my 3D art class is using this website, and it's honestly pretty epic because it's one of the only projects in school that I am actually excited about
I watched this video once without having ever used Sketchup and then proceeded to make my very first blueprint of a bedroom with the skill of an experienced user within 15 minutes of starting. Very good video!
I just realized an amazing tool that would benefit everyone. If we can switch what tools we can use through pressing numbers as shortcuts like with equipment on hotbars with games.
What a superb video, the last time I used SketchUp for a DIY project was back when it was owned by Google so it was great to get a refresher like this that brought me back up to speed in less than an hour of watching and playing around. Thanks again!
Thank you for making this. I've yet to go through the tutorial but from what I've read in the comments I'm very excited. I'm a fashion designer and will be graduating this April 2022 and this program was not apart of the programs we tend to use but I feel like it would be a great addition I can learn on my own to enhance my digital design skills as for visual merchandising it will be perfect... For display layout illustrations
If you are a fashion designer, this program is far beyond, you shall use Photoshop or Illustrator. However, if you manage to master a CAD software (even for the basics), you will be able to have an idea of a 3D design rendering, which is something that 'classic' 2D software can do. It requires a significant amount of time, but your simulation will be more realistic.
@@bai thank you and yes i only need it for floor plans. there are certain avenues in the scope of being a fashion designer in the industry which this program is recommended for more realistic ideas of a layout regarding visual merchandise as i mentioned. so the basics will be fine and becoming advanced will be a bonus for myself.
@@Bearded_Fox my daughter in law is a design/ merchandising manager. I can see how this could help for plan-o-grams to save time and steps. Just the tutorial here shows how useful it would be in a variety of spaces. Lol I just want to plan a custom bookshelf, but it almost seems a waste of a great program.
Great tutorial, thank you for your content. FYI 3:48 I think you'll find it's pronounced "height". There is no "th" sound at the end of height. Length, width and a hard T stop. "heigh-t". Wow, so much great information in your video, thank you for sharing.
You're so amazing thank you for this i really didn't know SketchUp , and to learn software from scratch would be hectic you made things so easy . God bless u 🙂💕🥺
Thanks man I'm just learning how to use this for school your video is really helping i appreciate this vid you definitely didn't serve me an overdose of explanation but told me all I need to know thanks man you've made it onto my subs list :)

It's a pretty cool and Very basic tool, for those who have no real 3D design (from scratch) and development skills; such as using Maxon Cinema 4D, Maya, Blender, etc ... . What I'd like to know is, can you/I import any 3D graphics and/or animations, you've/I've already created (using Maxon Cinema 4D, Maya, Blender, Daz 3D, etc ...)
This is the USA for you. They also prefer miles and feet 🦶, ounces (not 100g) and pounds (not 500g), cups ☕️? and quarts (not 1L) , not to mention Fahrenheit... God help America ...
@@mvl6827 At least we use the same system consistently. What's with all the references to miles, yards, inches, etc in British measurements? I see and hear it all the time. Now THAT makes no sense. (And no, they were not doing it for the benefit of anyone from the U.S.)

Hey i have a question, so I'm trying to figure out my life and I've always had a love for designing spaces but never went to school for it. If i taught myself this program how can i turn it into a work from home career?
I wish the Sketchup would work for me like this. trying to draw a simple drawer. Often times the line attaches to the wrong place on the upper horizontal member. Also it fills areas that should be open.
Thanks!
Thank you so much
Finally a NO-BS tutorial that doesn't start by explaining how the universe came into existence. Thank you!

How does this guy literally have a tutorial for every single software
Lol
is there a way to have the list of pieces and their measures ? that would help a lot.
The web-based version doesn't allow users to add extensions, unfortunately. To use the cutlist extension, you need to use the desktop software.
