- This might just be the best watch I've reviewed this year. At just $50 less than the Tissot PRX, it's breathtakingly good!

50m water resistance, no seconds, no lume......im buying the prx
If you get a chance to see this watch in person, I'd recommend doing so. You'll likely think otherwise.
Btw... The lume on the PRX is basically non-existent 🕵️
out of the 2 ; id go for the Michel Herbelin Cap Camarat .... french ; from the Alps ( close to switzerland ) and cost 800E .. swiss level of finishing .... and look like the link between the Ingenieur 1 & 2. this would be a banger for 600 650.... but 800e; there are far better options
@@TopTierTicker $800 for a cheap Miyota movement that doesn't even have the seconds hand or a display case back? Good looking watch, but with that huge drawback, hard no from me.
No running second = stick a high quality quartz in it instead of a very average mechanical movement and drop the price by £300. This is not high horology stuff here…
For some reason the lack of a seconds hand is actually quite appealing to me with this one. That, with the lack of loom, push it more towards the dressier side of things. Looks sleek and sophisticated.
*lume
But why have an automatic movement, then? It doesn't even have a display case back. I have Movados with no second hand, and they have quartz. It just makes sense.
@@turk914 so you don't need t0 change the battery? Because you appreciate the mechanical nature of it? I dunno, a smooth seconds hand is not the only reason to go mechanical.
@@thegorn 😘
I love that dial. They've made another winner there.
100% mate. Absolute banger
That is very pretty! The dial is very playful with the light! The finishing is great as well! Every Venezianico seems like a piece of art... Thanks for sharing Kieran!
A very timely review of this beautiful watch which is about to drop on their website. I am getting a the purple dial version. I also thought I was done with integrated bracelet watches, but this one looks so damn classy. It gives me serious Parmigiani Tonda vibes while still being unmistakeably a Venezianico and being affordable for me. Enjoy your watch!
I would rather have a San Martin with their fantastic finishing and different available movements for half the cost. I have a large wrist and butterfly clasps usually don't fit. No lume and no seconds hand doesn't appeal to me. (I won't spend that kind of money on a Miyota movement.)
I like the brand and the watch. But, the thinness w/o the seconds hand isn't impressive to me. They should have went with a small seconds movement IMO.
I still think it's mega impressive. You don't get many automatics this thin these days, unfortunately. Some have mentioned that 2-hand quartz would've been a good fit here, I agree with that.
I have to agree Kieron, that is a fantastic looking watch! The dial is amazing, and to me the beveling along the edges of the case is one important element that elevates this watch above less sophisticated integrated watch designs like the PRX.
Strange decision to not do a green. It’s a banger though.
As they expand their collections, they always seem to up their quality.
That's a good point. They seem to be getting better with each release. Just adding that slight more refinement each time 👌
All from a brand with no history. 😆😆
I’ll be seeing some of these this weekend in Toronto.
Make sure you check this new model out. It's unbelievably good looking in person. The polishing is just so sharp! Enjoy the show 👍
i like it.. nothing busy on the dial (without any paragraphs of infos).. just simple. im sold… wish they make a white/cream dial..or even champagne (which will make it looks vintage)
I'm sure they'll experiment with some funky dials on the future. Venezianico are known for it!
800 euro for a brand with no history, its a bit high.
So how do you suggest new brands price their products? Based on quality? Basted on design? Based on…..history?
@@zinoelgato price their product accordingly, this shouldnt be over 600 ever. My whole point is they cant charge brand history tax
Absolutely! I'll rather buy for the same price any Tissot Gentleman 40mm 💯
You have no idea how much it costs to actually get a watch to production, do you? The fact they've managed to get this so close to the mass-produced PRX is very impressive.
100% true no horology to charge to much
That is pretty, but without a sweeping second hand, the benefit of an automatic movement is largely missed.
Yeah, I appreciate that for sure
I think the price is just right, and it is such a beautiful watch, but the thing that lets it down for me is the links don’t articulate enough by the head of the watch, making the effective lug to lug humongous. You have that combined with no micro adjust and I don’t think this is going to fit very well on small wrists. Even on your wrist it looks a tad on the bigger side. Now if they do like Christopher Ward did and make a smaller 36 mm version I think that would be great.
Yeah, can't disagree about the micro-adjustment point. I do feel that it fits my perfect. But as I said in the video, I got lucky with the fit for sure.
I'm fairly confident they'll consider smaller size in the future. It obviously depends on demand / success of this 40!
Good to hear your view on the price and design too. Thanks for watching
A watch that is marginally cheaper than the PRX, and uses a mediocre movement (for the price paid). The Bulova Super Seville is cheaper and, at least, has that super smooth sweep even though it's quartz.
The Bulova is a super generic looking sports watch. The finishing won't even compare.
No hate towards the Bulova BTW, I'm sure it's a good watch to some (I've seen it in person btw). But you can't really compare a mass produced big brand watch to something like this
Want a seconds hands.
You have an impressive way of hyping up any watch. Good or bad.
I rarely give a review where I'm this impressed.
No seconds! :(
They arent a Microbrand!
They have dozens of selling spots around the world!
You know.... okay I agree that it was inspired but a lot of sports watches. But no second hand? No lume? 8.5mm thick? if you graded this as a DRESS watch for under $1,000 I think it's a winner.
Shame about the clasp, though.
The Venezianico Arsenale is undeniably a beautiful watch, but let’s be honest-nothing comes close to being the PRX killer. The PRX is the watch that revived the integrated bracelet design at this price point, and it will be remembered for that. It’s not that I don’t like the Arsenale-I do, it’s a great piece-but it’s too late to dethrone the PRX's place in history. History will mark the PRX as the watch that brought the integrated bracelet back into the spotlight.
I agree with you that it having no running seconds hand hurts, but still, that is a very pretty watch
What would you personally prefer, 8.95mm with no seconds or 10mm with seconds? I can't figure out which I'd personally prefer
@TopTierTicker yeah its a tough choice but i think 10mm thickness is plenty thin. Though that is coming from someone that is not really a very experienced watch guy who has handled all kinds of watches. Maybe because i also prefer a sweeping mechaquarts hand on my chrono versus a non sweeping solar chrono
I would still get a Prx over this. Too much aliexpress watch vibes on this one
No. This is better
AliExpress vibes? 😂 Send me links. I need these watches you speak of
Not impressed at all. It's a pass for me.
If you’re a really good UA-camr, but how can you give us a suggestion to buy it? Something that is look like as PRX but it isn’t at the same time the price is just $50 less! Also something last nobody knows this company 😢
I would 1000% recommend this over a PRX to anyone. It's better in every single way.
@@TopTierTicker Except the movement and power reserve. And missing second hand. And kinda "homage/clomage" AliExpress look (but this is subjective).
@@radoslavkasparec9345
And water resistance, and true worldwide service network.
I actually prefer the Miyota. The powermatic 80 inside of the PRX has plastic parts.
The lack of seconds is more than made up for by the insane thickness.
The PRX is literally a homage to the Royal Oak.
@@TopTierTicker The other day I was in a watch shop I was told the PRX doesn't have the plastic parts anymore since the community backlash was so hard they actually make the newer PRXs with Powermatic sansthe plastic parts.
I have many Venezianico pieces in my collection and enjoy a good relationship with them as a brand and business.
Whilst I would love to support this new model, and believe it is a gorgeous watch; unfortunately I think I’ll have to wait until some iterative changes are considered:
- Seconds hand, (high-beat movement deserves some sweep on the dial).
- Lume.
- Water resistance, (only 50m despite screw-down crown, and same screwed-in caseback as the Nereide).
With micro adjust and a green dial (with same texture/design as that blue), I’m not sure I’d be able to resist….
Many thanks Karen,
Of of the most beautiful vidoes I ever experienced.
Although the mesmerizing watch of Venezianico, made your live easier . As you say "breath taking creation " .
MANY THANKS MY FRIEND. YOU ARE UNLIKE OTHER UA-camRS AMONG THE HERD. KEEP ON.
with huge appreciation and love
Nizar
Karen 😂😂😂😂
wish it had a seconds hand, if you aren't giving me a seconds hand or a view of the movement, just give me quartz
The coin edging is too much. It’s all too busy.
I’m starting to wonder how many lives the PRX has…
Exactly. Seemingly every week, a UA-camr shouts about a new PRX killer. This isn't the first PRX killer on this channel. But, the PRX is doing fine.
😂😂
@caktaylor exactly what I was thinking. PRX seems to be doing a good job of seeing them off...😂
I love my PRX. I think they just get hate because they are popular. But this is not a PRX killer. It looks nice, but makes no sense with an automatic movement with no second hand and no display case back. And the PRX has a much better movement than this one. Who pays $800 for a Miyota movement?
This is the PRX killer for quartz version. It would be the killer for the automatic, if the price is $500-600 lol
PRX better deal
Disappointed to see no second hand. Totally agree, having seconds hand makes your watch come alive!!! Great vid. New to all these great channels, like this one especially, but been collecting on n off for 35 yrs. Fascinating
Wqtch face definitely taken inspiration from maen Manhattan 37
What’s the point of automatic movement without a sweeping seconds. It is costlier and less accurate than the quartz version.
I don't think Venezianico has ever made a quartz watch? Could be wrong about that but I think that's true. Maybe they want to stick to classic watchmaking?
I wouldn't mind quartz at all. But I know some would
Well, in France this is more expensive than PRX, based on websites prices. Any discount at AD will still benefit the PRX, altough I like the dial, I've no interest in not having a seconds hand, I don't understand what's the point of using anomatic 4Hz without seconds hand. Why not go ETA Quartz and all in on the design, sells better at lower price ?
That coin bezel doesnt work with an integrated bracelet GG design.
I'd love a smaller model with 36-38mm diameter and a quartz movement, as without a seconds hand it isn't noticeable. Furthermore, the price would drop significantly and the watch would even be thinner.
An automatic watch without a second hand is like buying a cheeseburger without cheese.
What's the point?
The watch looks good, don't get me wrong. But for 700$? Then I kinda get turned off.
Thx for the review. I had a promo code and got it for $640!!!! This is better than anything else under 2k. I've held and or owned all the other competitors under 2k and this is Def better. No idc about brand heritage..that's just silly. Better then the CW.
Yikes! Bro thinks this is killing the PRX 😬. Look out Tissot this thing is gonna be eating away at your share of the market any day now. Karen definitely isn't biased with his free review watch 🤦🏻♂️
Everyday a new watch comes in & YT starts bombarding with "the new PRX killer" & what happens, that new watch fades away. Now the choice is yours, better buy something that I can afford than picking up a Homage. Once a legend said, "Value doesn't relies on watch's price tag, it's inside the person who is wearing". Even a genuine AP Royal Oak would look fake on my wrist, based on my wallet thickness.
I don't get it.....looks like a pair of 1970s curtains (drapes) on the dial. I have no dress watches as I don't like them, the price is too high.....and even as an Arsenal supporter I wouldn't buy it
That brand has possibly the worst qc I have ever heard of.
Also the dial style copies maen.
Beautiful watch, but too much movement swaping without telling the customer and bad breakdown history.
Is a 38mm case and 100m water resistant too much to ask for? The dial is absolutely spectacular and the lack of second hand is a very rare choice but I wish there were more watches like that.
It is a very nice piece for sure, this is a packed market now. Someone mentioned Herbelin in the comments but Direnzo also produced a great integrated model. The cost is the issue as I presume shipping it into the UK is going to cost you another lump of cash in tax this is then approaching a thousand pounds and there are very good, very similar watches for less. Anyway great review Kieron as useual.
I definitely don't like the lack of a seconds hand. If it's not going to have one, then exactly what's the point in having an automatic movement? The whole point of suffering through the incessant winding and time correction is so you can show off the smooth seconds hand sweep. A quartz would look and behave exactly the same, it would be lighter, and it would cost less. I'm not on board at all, pretty dial be damned.
What a gorgeous dial that is the main attraction, the markers are great and the subtle branding is lovely. A lovely thin watch with a nice bracelet too. Lume….this is a formal watch not a sport watch. It doesn’t need lume! I’m looking forward to seeing this in person.
Just like Maen, cool design, ultra thin, automatic movements with NO seconds hands. Might as well be quartz watch 🤦🏼♂️
Someone give me one reason for an automatic movement with no seconds hand and no display case back? A quartz would be just as thin, if not thinner and keep better time. Just strange.
This watch has everything Tissot PRX lacks... a style, an elegance, and it is not boring.
PRX is forever engraved in watch history lore now , it’s a cult icon ! There is no PRX killer!
This is the same brand that threatened initial reviewers to a lawsuit when they criticised their first models.. don't buy this crap
I believe PRX will survive to this "killer". Also because on one side we have Tissot on the other one ... not really the same.
It's pretty for sure, but no seconds......just make it a quartz and save 50%.
I do see that argument. I wouldn't mind a quartz but I know some definitely would
I love that the world is turning back to the VC Overseas first version (and still the very best in my view) - this takes enormous amounts of inspiration in terms of thinness, case sides, basic case shape and engraved back from that model. Let the running seconds go, just let it go - my best watches (from the likes of VC, Piaget, AP, JLC) only have two hands - and they can keep time way better than a lot of the three hand movements I've got.
That's true actually. Most of the Cartier models I love don't have a running seconds.
Tons of inspiration here. And very well combined IMO. The VC Overseas first model is a good spot
Thanks for watching
No micro adjust, no Lume, no second hand , it has a long way to go IMHO
No second hand, but the movement hacks? Why? How does that work?
@TopTierTicker you give homages a hard time but this one is looking exactly like a Parmigiani
Exactly like a Parmigiani? Yeah, those lugs, the entire bracelet, the silhouette, the dauphine hands, the dial finish, the crown guards... All identical. I'm being sarcastic, of course.
Even the proportions of the bezel (which is the most copied over aspect) are different.
There's no denying that the Parmigiani was on the mood board when designing the watch. But a copy? Come on man. That really diminishes what Venezianico has done here.
@@TopTierTicker you never use the same level of reasoning for an aliexpress brand. Interesting. Edit: I'm not the only one who is calling this one the "parmigiani homage". If you look the comments in other watch channels most people are calling it that. Food for thought
Incorrect, I have indeed used the same reasoning for some AliExpress watches (see my latest San Martin Review). But some are too close to the bone for my liking. I personally think this one has a good balance 😁
Re, lack of running seconds-hand on this model. It does not save any thickness of the case. So simply an (unfortunate) design choice:
The saving of 0.35mm thickness by using the 9029 is only a benefit if you are having an open-heart balance-wheel. Which is evidently not a feature of this dial.
Else the 9039 would also enable the exact same case thinness without date, and with a seconds hand included. It’s a shame to have a high-beat movement without any smooth motion on the dial. Many people also like to see some visible movement on the dial to know the watch is operating and has power.
* 9039 (no date complication)
* 9039 minimum case thickness: 8.25mm
* 9039 total hand stack height: 1750µ (1.75mm)
* 9015 (has date complication)
* 9015 minimum case thickness: 8.6mm
* 9015 total hand stack height: 2100µ (2.1mm)
* 9029 is same as 9039 but only 2 hands and with Open Balance wheel.
* 9019 is basically a 9015 but with a lower clearance for the hands. It has the same thickness of 3.9mm, but the ability to install the hands closer to the dial allows for an overall thinner watch design. In measurement, the difference is 1,750μ vs 2,100μ.
@@TopTierTicker I watched the video and didn't come up to the same conclusion as you with your comment
The omission of a seconds hand only accentuates all the empty space on that dial
Fashion type watch with no resale value. Buy the Tissot
Decently cool watch but no date and no finish on the indecies
Beautiful watch but no seconds hand is a no go for me.
There is no way in hell this watch can beat a PRX bottom line
No second hands = Quartz = save money.
Didn’t MAEN do this a year or two ago?
I'm not sure this can be called original, as it takes a lot of elements form another Italian watch brand - Parmigiani.
No Intergrated bracelet sports watch is original. They all slightly change elements from the ones before it. It's a genre where you have to look close to see the differences between them. Squint and they all look the exact same 🤣
@@TopTierTickerpoor excuse. Plenty of original integrated bracelet designs. This is just a Parmigiani homage but this reeks of paid review
@@johnhunterpPhDyou can't disagree with anyone these days without being called a shill or accused of being paid to say good things. It's a poor comeback, obviously not. I've mentioned the inspiration for the watch in the video. But like I also say, it has originality.
@@TopTierTicker you don't apply the same reasoning for AliExpress brands which are doing exactly the same as venezianico. It's possible your bias is such you don't even realize it
integrated watches are my fave they are the perfect blend of sporty and dressy imo and venezianico have knocked it out of the park with this one
It's good to hear someone who has a lot of experience in the genre thinks it's a good release... Appreciate you sharing your thoughts on it. Thanks for watching
Lots of quirks on this one that negate the price IMHO. Mainly the bracelet and its lack of articulation and half links. Also, WHY put in a mechanical movement with NO seconds hand??? Whats the point here??
I don't think Venezianico has ever used a Quartz movement? Could be a reason why. Maybe that's a boundary they don't want to cross. They want to keep things traditional? Who knows
No chance. 90% of the people watching this probably own a PRX already. Including me....😂
I appreciate that. I guess that's why I have some salty comments on this one. I respect the loyalty!
Why not QUARTZ???
*Much* more elegant than the PRX but omitting the seconds hand is unforgivable even if it saved a millimeter.
Unforgivable is very dramatic 🤣 I don't quite think it's that deep, but something to consider for sure
No sense having a transparent caseback on low end watches such as this. Just adds unnecessary cost.
Somewhat true... Especially with the Seiko NH series. Although I still enjoy the Miyota 9000. It's just nice to see the mechanics sometimes. The heartbeat of the watch, yano?
Nice one
Watch would be great if it had a wr to 100m and lume.
What you planning on doing with that extra 50m Mr.? 🤣🤔
What a stunner! The gold hands and indices on that beautiful blue dial oozes style and elegance. I'm not a big fan of integrated bracelets but I could really go for this one. It would look amazing on a vintage leather strap though!
Really nice review Kieron, take care mate 👍
Sooo what size is your wrist? Mine is about 6.75" and im hesitant, integrated bracelets usually give me trouble.
6.5 inch mine matey. It will fit you like a dream
@@TopTierTicker awesome, thank you!!
If you think less is more then fine. I would much rather have the PRX or pay a little more and have the Christopher Ward.

Can we get a comparison between this and the twelve?
Is that something you'd like to see? I'm sure I could get one in to do one
