Thank you!!! I have a 1998 Malibu Response. I have been thinking I wanted to put seadek down and take up the carpet. This video has given me the knowledge and confidence to move forward with my project.
I installed this stuff on my searay. Very first thing I can tell you is don’t think your installing it the first day you get it. Since it comes in a roll it stays really curled up… so plan for that and have some where flat to lay it and weight it down. Using a template you make on your on helps a lot. Took me about a day to do the whole boat.. first couple of years it did good…looked good. 3rd and 4th year I noticed significant shrinking… and color fade. When I pressure wash I can see the colorant being removed. The other issue is when you get it wet it gets on your feet then on your seats…. I’ve tried to pressure wash it till the color stopped coming off but never saw and end to it. So over all it looks nice till it doesn’t. I’m now about to remove it and reinstall new. The other options all seem to be quite a bit more than I really want to spend.
just follow the tips I have sprinkled through the video and youll be just fine. Its really hard to screw it up. I just focus on doing everything with straight pieces first, then fill in the edges with the scraps
Lay masking tape down above all of your edges. Then take a marker and trace up to the edge. Remove the tape and cut along where you marked, and you have a perfect template
Glad you enjoyed it. I'm always worried people will take this channel too serious. So I was hoping to show you guys that I'm just having fun, and we all get to learn something as we go. Overall though there are a lot of great bits of info in this video Next spring we will be doing another video for installing sea deck on a v drive boat.
I really would have liked to watched the rest of this, but 6:45 is all I could take of that background noise.😢 Someone else called it music, that was overly generous.
I got it from here amzn.to/3fVOHrs There should be different color options too. Unfortunately it's common to sell out in the summer. Then new stock doesn't arrive till fall

That turned out great! I just ordered my flooring and now doing my homework on the best way to install.
Hopefully it helped. I have a lot of tips peppered through the video. If you follow the tips it should work great

This was a very impressive job...This guy did a great job with his "average guy" (for guys like me) explanations. Looks great ..Great job!
Thank you! I am an average guy with above average ambition to try new things
Stay tuned, plenty more coming
It is actually amazing! Well done!
It looks great.. I’m thinking about doing my Boston Whaler! Thanks for sharing!
Looks fantastic....doing my own '74 Thompson 190V now. Hope it turns out as nice.

Excellent idea!
Thank you! Thinking about doing this on my old boat. How has it held up? Is it wearing funny? Is it still coming clean? 🤔
Yes, holding up fine
Comes clean easy with pressure washer or soap and scrub brush
Looks great for me! And thanks for the advices!!! Good job!!!
Thanks for watching!
Good work! ❤️❤️❤️
Looks really good 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Great job it looks professional to me.
Yes. From 10 feet away it looks great
So, 3 years later. How long did it last ? What is your 3yr opinion?
I sold the boat 2 years later. It held up fine while I owned it
I have a 2004 time direct drive. Do you think the flooring when pulling up the carpet would look like this?
If it's glued down then yes
Does the teak color get hot
Not at all
Looks great brotha!
Great idea.... thanks
Still have the boat? How's it holding up? Seeing some bad reviews on the Amazon EVA.
I had it for a few years, and have the same stuff in my new boat
Working good
@@GearsAndTech Thanks for the reply and info!
How much did you need to do this it sticks to the carpet?
Jeez man that’s gorgeous I’m definitely getting that
It's really makes a boat look a lot better, and is pretty easy to put in
@@GearsAndTech my boat right now is in shambles man
Once my fricking dad gives me my boat title I’m spending every loose dollar I have on making my baby shine
On Canada its fall. I'm winterizing the boats today. It's the perfect time to work on boats in shambles
@@GearsAndTech I’m in South Carolina
This intro was Awesome (: great video.

Yeah, I keep the music lower in my more recent videos
Did you order this from seadek or are you just calling it seadek but it's actually just Eva foam?
Its Eva foam. Link in the description
where can i order the seadek?
I got it from here
amzn.to/3fVOHrs
There should be different color options too.
Unfortunately it's common to sell out in the summer. Then new stock doesn't arrive till fall
Front area should've definitely been done as one piece
Tell us about your SeaDek install experiences.
Why do you keep calling it Seadek? Amazon does not sell Seadek. It looks like you installed "Happybuy" EVA foam?
Seadek is a brand name of Eva foam decking
Similar to band aids, Kleenex
Nice, next time use cardboard for template
I've seen people use cardboard and plastic sheets. But what I did worked acceptably
If it was a nicer boat I would consider templates and such
Music is horrendous I’m out
Sorry to hear that
🤣🤣🤣
Looks great
