@Ballon D'orson What a shame to label all those people, who have served and contributed in the ways they have done, as “plebs” because of your very shallow view on one of our most important institutions.
@Ballon D'orson The authour, C. A. Alexander was expressing the equality of rich and poor in the eyes of God. @@sodapop83 I'm so sorry your grandparents are no longer with us. Three of my grandparents were younger than her, two of them are alive today. Industrialist and magnate George Skakel's two children (out of seven total, five deceased) who were born in 1928 and 1933, are still alive. Rosalynn Smith Carter, born in 1927, and her sister, Allethea Smith Wall, born in 1936, are still alive while their brothers who were born in 1929 and 1932, both died in 2003. It's interesting how longevity works.
@@angelacooper2661 you were fortunate, so was your grandmother, for her to live to be 90. I've been tracking George Skakel's two surviving children to see if his youngest, born in 1933, will reach 90. She will if she lives until February. Both Skakel and his wife were 63 when they perished in the 1955 air tragedy over Oklahoma. Their other five children met their demise at ages 64, 76, 44, 79, and 75. If his surviving children live until January 2, 2023, that would mean his two younger children lived 20 years past the death of the most recent of his children to die. In the case of Allethea Smith Wall, Rosalynn Smith Carter's sister, Mrs. Wall will have to live until November 10, 2026, in order to reach the age of 90. Their mother was 94 when she died on April 1, 2000; their grandfather saw the age of 95 before his death in 1966.

King George V died six months before my mother was born. She was five months old at the time of the Abdication. This period would have been my grandparents era, as they were all born before 1910.
wow
my grandparents were younger than elizabeth ii and they're all gone for a long time now
Who care about your mother 🙄
@@sodapop83 I'm so sorry your grandparents are no longer with us. Three of my grandparents were younger than her, two of them are alive today.
Industrialist and magnate George Skakel's two children (out of seven total, five deceased) who were born in 1928 and 1933, are still alive.
Rosalynn Smith Carter, born in 1927, and her sister, Allethea Smith Wall, born in 1936, are still alive while their brothers who were born in 1929 and 1932, both died in 2003.
It's interesting how longevity works.
Two of my grandparents, one on either side, lived to be over 90 (Granny Cooper made it to the new millennium, dying in April 2000!)

This was played in movie theatres. Everyone would have been expected to stand up for the national anthem.
Amazing to see the traditions just have not changed.
incredible footage… we have just seen this recently, in full colour.
Honourable King George.5th.
The beautiful old bells of Westminster abbey ☺️☺️
09:32 The Queen with her mother attending her grandfather's funeral!
9:33
Little Elizabeth. Too young to wear a veil, in a black beret.
Just imagine the Queen having seen her grandfathers funeral.
It’s crazy to me to think most if not all of those people, all of those people who look the same ages as some people now, all of those people whom had their lives ahead of them, have now all passed away. It trips me out so much
Remarkable footage. One can imagine that having watched the funeral of Queen Elizabeth that historical events such as this which is available will be viewed much online.
It’s interesting, after having this happened with Queen Elizabeth II, how we can observe the similarities and all the tradition behind all these protocols.
The whole family gone but never forgotten 😔
??? You know some of George V’s grandchildren are still alive today? And his Great-Grandson sits on the throne now?
9:18 General Franco
Leumas nonnahs Yes, in the upper right with the white hat and feather.
God bless Franco.
@@londoncalling151 No.
Salvador de España.
Every person here is dead, please let's love ❤ each other,we are going to be like them one day and other new generations will watch us like this on screen. 😔 😟 🙁 😥
I’ve just realised Queen Elizabeth would have been 10 years old when this happened and apsoultly no idea that one day she would be Queen!
Her parents suspected. As George V correctly said of Edward Vlll "the boy will ruin himself within six months." Meanwhile in Berlin...
She was 2nd in line at this point. As Edward had no children.
Elisabeth at 09:32?..Now at rest.. God save the king...🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
at 3:11 you can see people using mirrors in order to adjust the angle and get a better view of what was happening.
Looks weirdly similar to taking a selfie.
what's the name of the tune that plays from 7:44? ive heard it also played during the funerals of 2 of Kenya's past presidents and president Magufuli of Tanzania, such a beautiful tune which i believe originated from Britain.
The king died at 70, not 83.
And his great-grandson, King Charles III, is 73 and outlived him and has only just started his reign.
The Audio isn't very good, perhaps turn it up and listen carefully because of the crackling someone in the Comments misheard what the Pathé Narrator said about Queen Maude being George V's sister and not Queen Mary's sister and you might realise the Narrator never mentioned King George's age once 🤦♂️🤷♂️
I couldn't hear any mention of King's age in the video.
@@kevnwarriner8819 Think he/she is referring to the text write up from the uploader, it is in the first line.
9:33 Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II on the right (little girl)
This would be so amazing if it were colourised.
4:05 - I wish the British people f*cking remembered that. No mobile phones and pictures just for your vapid social media, no applause and certainly no "wooos"
3:05 For QE2, they had smart phones. For KG5, they had mirrors.
3:04 Not a cell phone but mirrors to catch a glimpse of history. 8:35 what is the Scottish melody, please? Thank you for posting.
The reluctance of Edward to be king, makes it all the more remarkable the 70 years of devotion Queen Elizabeth gave this country.
This poor king was murdered by his doctor. He seems to have been aware of what was planned because he cursed his nurse before she administered the non lethal dose of morphine, but she would not agree to administer the kill dose. So the doctor who decided to kill him, had to do it himself. This was discovered in the 1980's when the papers associated with George V were made public . The doctor had written it all down in detail. ..Quite unbelievable isn't it. I know, I was shocked.
Funeral bonito de George V, mas o funeral de Elizabeth II foi mais lindo.
Vou sentir saudades 😞 de Elizabeth ❤️
3:15 it almost looks like people of today recording with their cell phones but it was just people holding up mirrors so they can see the procession as it passes by.
Anyone watching after Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth's passing?
Hello…!!🥸
“And there’s his son, the new King, who, we are all sure, will do a wonderful job and make us all proud.”
Hey, he was king for most of the year, give the guy a break.
He was an amazing king and her daughter too.
This is the funeral of King George V, he was the grandfather of Queen Elizabeth II
@@bushrasultana thanks.

is that Queen Elizabeth at 9:33 on the bottom right coming out of the car? she is without a veil and wearing a black hat, she would be about 10 years old here
I believe you are correct.
It is her
Kudos to you for spotting that. I defo think it's the queen. Amazing
I saw that too and was sure it would be her.
9:33
The girl in the black hat coming out of the carriage in the lower right corner of the screen looks like Queen Elizabeth.
It is her.
Wow after watch our queen Elizabeth II funeral how surreal it is to watch this, so similar in every way including the same peice of music by the bagpipes .
King george v sons king george vi make me cry the most look at his father furneal
King edward make me cry the most whatever I am in the bad mood oh my god 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔💔💔💔. At his father furneal........
To see our history, and tradition passed down almost unchanged makes me so proud to be English. A country so small that is the most famous of them all
Would also pe proud of the genocides and atrocities 🤡...
Yeah because of violent colonialism and looting of foreign artefacts and relics.
@@_Just_Another_Guy more like development and the spread of civilisation.
If most did not think that, there would be no commonwealth.
This was so far back. That generation is now gone. I can see how traditions follows.
Most if not all of the people we are seeing are dead. The same will be said about us when in 80 years time people will watch the funeral of ERII
3:07 Are the guys in the middle rows holding piece of glass or mirror to see the reflection of the procession
Yes
So similar to her fathers funeral.
I thought it was beautiful.
This is grandfather not father
In 2108 people will watch Queen Elizabeth II's funeral on UA-cam (or maybe on a other platform) like we do right now.
Watch it? They'll probably be able to participate in it with virtual reality.
It’s insane watching this after seeing what’s happened today
9.35 Princess Elizabeth coming out of the carriage? To think 86 years later it would be her turn at the exact same spot.
Yes just a glimpse.
Admiral Beatty attended thr funeral despite being gravely ill and died soon after..
