Hi Norm, thanks for these videos. Just picked up my first mcr54 and there is next to nothing around information wise. You’re really helping out!

Hey Norm - excellent video! I'll be sending some users over here to go through it with you! Nice job.

Would also love to see a range test with the G4. I've had some terrible RF issues with the native G4 portable receivers on a web series shoot and so I'm hoping that the MCR54 would sort this out.

Interesting, thank you for coming out with theese videos. One thing I am curious about. How do you make sure the channels are intermod free within the wisy reciever? Is there a grouping system or does it only pick compatible frequencies somehow? I entered all the freqs you set up in freqfinder and they appears to be intermodfree.

Yes, great question. I did no frequency coordination setup prior to this demo. I'm using the "out-of-the-box" pre-coordinated frequency plan groups. If it's helpful, here is the link for Wisycom www.dropbox.com/s/45mnve86lyrje40/MCR42S-US%20frequency%20coordination.pdf?dl=0

@@TheUnMarketingGroup ahh so all the frequencies you picked belong to one group? Didnt see how that was selected in the video. Not much experience with wisy (only once in the field under an Italian sound mixer), but love their things on paper

Besides using the frequency coordinated groups, if you happen to use a Wisycom Tx that has LINEAR mode, then you can just put carriers every 200- 400kHz (depending on wideband narrowband and the amount of robustness you need). LINEAR mode uses a unique intermodulation cancellation circuitry that eliminates any intermod created at the Tx.

@@RobPoretti I hear that Japans new TX seems capable of 50mw Linear mode. Will we be able to see this in an EU version soon?

@@Dustbrigade I can't speak to the Japan version because I do not believe that you can do 50mwatts at all; 10mwatts is max. I also cannot speak to the EU version. although I don't see why not. In NA, Symphony Tx's will do 50mwatt LINEAR. If you combine this with narrowband operation - where you will have 3-4 dB extra sensitivity - then you will have the equivalent of a 100mwatt transmitter with no intermod. We hope you can operate this with 300 kHz spacings but until the product is release it is (educated) guesswork.

thank u so much for this .How so u find the Sennheiser g3 work wit the mcr54

Most of the issues I have with Sennheiser G3/4 systems is with the receiver. Using the MCR54 as the receiver works great and eliminates the issues I have with the G3/4 receiver.

They were available with the firmware that came with the MCR54.

@Tobias Gerlach - I just upgraded to the latest firmware and this group has disappeared. I'm reaching out to a contact @wisycom to find out how to restore that group.
