Miquella probably kept his knowledge of incantations that he had when going to Enir-Ilim, whereas Marika was possibly just a shaman who escaped slavery at the time she became a god, and at most was part of some Nox warrior order for a while, per the Black Knife Assassin's armor. Also, Godfrey was weaker before the Long March, hence the purpose of it and fighting in distant lands. @@nightscout9979 Miquella only has one main arm because he lost it before he began his ritual self-annihilation to become a god. Ansbach cut it off. Also, I see no reason to believe Godfrey with the Elden Ring and Marika at his back wouldn’t be stronger than he was in our fight with him - no shame in that. As we see with Radahn, even the mightiest warrior becomes terrifyingly mightier when a God is at his back.
@@WanderedIn Ansbach didn't cut Miquella's arm off, the cocoon was slashed open from the side where Miquella's right arm is, and that limb is also intact. Godfrey himself was stronger after the Long March and the subsequent conflicts meant to make the Tarnished more powerful. The Golden Order would have had a formidable army against the Fire Giants, but Godfrey himself wouldn't have been stronger at the time. Miquella holding onto Radahn's back and augmenting his attacks (or puppeteering certain techniques into existence) also seems unique to his circumstances, rather than something Marika could do as well. If Marika's Hammer and the techniques from Radagon's boss fight are any indication, Marika was probably fighting on foot as a combatant herself. Marika may have even trained Melina and Messmer, considering the ties between the Black Knife Assassins and Marika and the statues of Marika holding a spear.
I remember the first time I got him down to 25% and realized he was doing the meteor attack again. I still can't tell if I was more hyped out of my goddamn mind or terrified lmao
Since I used a Scarlet Rot strategy on Consort Radahn, I was actually delighted when he started the meteor attack during the home stretch at ~20% health. The whole thing takes so long, he was at about 10% health when he returned ^^
I absolutely love the holy meteor attack. There's something so menacing about seeing a new fckn star pop up in the sky and then hear that ominous whistle sound as he approaches. So damn cool. It's crazy to think Elden Ring is the most spectacular game they've made, visually, but still not the most they'll make period. God, it's good to be a FromSoft fan.
The sheer damage and how seemingly unavoidable this move is actually made me bust out laughing the first time I fought him. It’s so over the top in every way that it can’t help but be kinda corny, but the gravity of the hours spent before getting to that point just to get absolutely leveled by an impossible attack makes it a truly awesome moment. Fromsoft games are really good at being inadvertently funny through gameplay
Considering it's possible that Radahn's original meteor attack was reused assets from Astel (I believe Zullie herself has a video discussing this), something about Consort Radahn getting a new version specifically tailored for him feels so right. It is truly *his* attack now.
The energy clones and holy damage are likely additions by Miquella, but the main meteorite aspects of the DLC attack are still especially threatening. If that weren't enough, this is Radahn's soul in a restricted and possibly incomplete state (the Tarnished has the Remembrance), and it's Mohg's body that has been altered to look like Radahn before he became the Starscourge. Imagine what this was like when Radahn defeated the stars!
I wish you would have went into detail on Miquella here. A video told me Miquella's eyes are only open during this attack. Which to me is incredibly interesting since eyes mean so much in the world of Elden Ring, and you don't even see Miquella's eyes in cinematics or anything. Apparently, only on this move.
I love the idea of Radahn realising how powerful we are and that we push him to use the meteor attack. It really homes in on the idea that we are equal in strength with him, even with Miquella powering him up. This is Radahn at full power and we're able to keep up with him, which I think is awesome.
The Radahn knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is
Just imagine there were even more stages to this fight, with Radahn crashing down somewhere else on on the map to recover and you having to chase him down there. Would be quite unexpected and a very effective strategy on his part
I loved seeing the reactions to this attack. There were 3 kinds of reactions: - no realisation, confusion followed by screaming - late realization with screaming as well - instant realization with hurried scurrying My favorite reaction was that of Zanny's who, 2 seconds after Radahn lifted off, just screams as his face turns to terror, 'LOOK TO THE SKIEEES! WAAAAAAHAHAHA'.
I've had some interesting experiences with the Radahn clones. Recently I died as a summon with the host dying at roughly the same time to a clone attack and there were 2 Radahns walking around during the fadeout. There was another time when I was able to take a screenshot of 4 or 5 Radahns just hanging out.
it's so funny to me that Valstrax from Monster Hunter went through the exact same Evolution... Regular Valstrax just Flies up and then dives at you. His Risen Crimson Glow variant however, also precedes the Dive with a volley of Dragon Energy, similar to consort.
"Even if this represents the true pinnacle of Radahn's might, the DLC has shown there are always new heights" You're just asking for another prime boss at this point lol
2:00 - 2:17 So you could say that, when the Lightspeed Slash says "slash at the speed of light", that it isn't hyperbole: Radahn *can* move that fast with that move. Enough to where he can practically be in multiple places at once!
The realization that he was doing it was indeed an incredibly potent "oh holy shit" moment. It's kind of a shame the attack itself is far more easily avoided than the Wailing Dunes meteor.
Its funny you mention the burning star... I happened to be recording first time I saw that attack. Its my favorite clip now because you can see my visible confusion whilst he's in the air, and the single frame of the star. You can even tell I saw it went "Oh. Fuck!-" in that microsecond before it ate 98% of my health in an instant.
I like this attack as the singular example of Miquella and Radahn combining their full strength together to deliver one overwhelming onslaught. People like to headcanon their relationship as being antagonistic, but they fight in perfect synergy, with Miquella perfectly complimenting Radhan’s brute strength and covering all of his blind spots and openings with bursts of light to cover his brother in moments where he would be vulnerable. I like to think that as soon as Radahn squats down to launch into the sky, Miquella takes it as his que to go nuclear and uses his divine power to launch them both into the stratosphere, a combination of Radahn’s mastery of gravitational magic and Miquella’s divine light jettisoning them across the sky of the Land of Shadow as Miquella flings rays of golden power downwards to mark the path of his brothers landing.
I don't care what people say, to me Miquella is a monster. Why? Because for all his grand talk of compassion and love he only resurrected Radahn, NOT Leonard. Leaving Radahn without his beloved, trusty steed, that's straight-up cruel, Micky! 😉
I only ever saw the holy meteor crash attack on my final try and somehow managed to survive; I was trying to figure out where the attack would come after I realised what was about to happen and turned my camera to face the right direction at the last second, took the first part of the attack on the shield and then frantically rolled forward.
fun fact, you can also dodge this attack point blank, no need to run away, do mind tho it's quite difficult to pull off, idk it's possible without all crucible talisman tho.
I'm glad the patchs made him clearer to look at, with enough delays and changes to add more punish windows. Watching fall from the sky again, felt like an old friend's joke being funny again.
sote has very horrible camera/targeting ui~ so effects and new attacks aside~ fromsoft needs to fix the issues of the camera from going haywire~ hard doesnt mean crappy camera configurations that go crazy with the bosses just hogging the frame
None of this clarity on how this attack "works" really seems to clear up how bullshit it seems to be in practice. I still don't have the slightest idea how to counter it 100% like I do the original Starscourge version.
Then there's the tarnished that will just stay put and jump in place. This confuses the Radahn and makes him appear at the end location without the attack coming out. Not sure if that was fixed so far.
whenever he flies up i just hear “TACTICAL NUKE INCOMING!!!!” course i only made it to that point like twice before taking a break and never getting around to beating him.
Whatever you wanna call that end game boss (Miquella and puppet/prime ramiq) still couldnt match up to Malenia. 1. First phase is the most downloadable slop 2. Second phase is only a thing because of miquella and mohg 3. The devs just thought “well lets too malenia by just sending every attack spastically everywhere”.
This might make me sound insane, but I'm excited to go against him for real. My first playthrough, the game glitched while talking to Ansbach, killing Radahn instantly and gifting me the Remembrance. I was extremely upset at the mistake, but couldn't fix it. So I'm working to get back to it, with the hope I can face this titan for real.
I remember the run I finally killed him he did this and took out my help, and the only reason I lived was I used Raptor of the Mists on a shortsword I kept in pocket for this attack and the airstrike attack. We kept slugging it out and while he was at like his last bit of health I ran out of fp and was low on stamina and just kept frantically throwing knives until one hit him in the chest and he died.
Also of note: Because the return position is fixed under you at the moment of the 2nd phase of the attack, if the tracking cannot find your character for some reason, the entire thing gets cancelled and Radahn just warps down to you - as shown in the video. This happens if you aren't on the ground when the targetting is called, which happens over the course of more than a second. So if you have an AoW that keeps you airborne for the duration of the targetting and it misses you, Radahn just reappears with no follow up and doesn't do it again.
IIRC, that was actually patched months ago. Speed runners and challenge runners used to use that technique, but no longer do so even if the meteorite attack happens.
Yesterday my friend was killing him for the first time. We talked about the meteor and I said "Zulie could do a video about how he set the meteor position, who is ltge consort leonoid" love you Zulie

1:44 He's right behind me isn't he?
The only wish you make with this shooting star is to not get hit.
I remember the first time I got him down to 25% and realized he was doing the meteor attack again. I still can't tell if I was more hyped out of my goddamn mind or terrified lmao
I remember my exact thought, "Welp... time to run."
Since I used a Scarlet Rot strategy on Consort Radahn, I was actually delighted when he started the meteor attack during the home stretch at ~20% health. The whole thing takes so long, he was at about 10% health when he returned ^^
you couldnt get this out of me with 20 years of cia torture
Supposedly Miquella opens their eyes during this so even they're like
"bro holy shit"
This is what the pirates saw when Garp came in with galaxy impact 😂 1:07
That attack despite portrayed as a nuke, did nothing but knock out some fodder lol, so underwhelming
The song is so good!! Those cymbals are a nice touch. Great video as always zullie
Ahh, if it isn't light speed meteor Radahn. Good to more about know how he's been kicking my butt.
Radahn having afterimages is a terrifying realization.
Basically Consort Radahn's meteor is Risen Valstrax's Ambush while Starscourge Radahn's meteor is OG Valstrax Ambush
By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is
1:10 I appreciate how it looks almost like a Star wars ship barrage from that perspective
Just imagine there were even more stages to this fight, with Radahn crashing down somewhere else on on the map to recover and you having to chase him down there. Would be quite unexpected and a very effective strategy on his part
I loved seeing the reactions to this attack. There were 3 kinds of reactions:
- no realisation, confusion followed by screaming
- late realization with screaming as well
- instant realization with hurried scurrying
My favorite reaction was that of Zanny's who, 2 seconds after Radahn lifted off, just screams as his face turns to terror, 'LOOK TO THE SKIEEES!
Can wait for Radahn to be the final boss of the Spinoff too
I hope it's Ranni's boyfriend.
@ you hope it's me?
it's so funny to me that Valstrax from Monster Hunter went through the exact same Evolution...
Regular Valstrax just Flies up and then dives at you. His Risen Crimson Glow variant however, also precedes the Dive with a volley of Dragon Energy, similar to consort.
1:05 *Tonight, on Dragon Ball Z*
"Even if this represents the true pinnacle of Radahn's might, the DLC has shown there are always new heights"
You're just asking for another prime boss at this point lol
Prime Placidusax and Bayle duo boss for Nightreign.
PRIME /// THIRD
IMAGINE MORE DRAGONS
@AnAntarcticScotsman soooo true
The light copies of Radahn are the coolest attacking move of any encounter in my opinion. It felt so badass.
Consort rahdan is just miquella piloting an armored core
1:43 that one friend when you light up your zaza
2:00 - 2:17
So you could say that, when the Lightspeed Slash says "slash at the speed of light", that it isn't hyperbole: Radahn *can* move that fast with that move. Enough to where he can practically be in multiple places at once!
Consort radahns meteor attack looks more accurate to an irl meteor attack.
The realization that he was doing it was indeed an incredibly potent "oh holy shit" moment. It's kind of a shame the attack itself is far more easily avoided than the Wailing Dunes meteor.
Totally different now that i can actually see what hes doing. The flashbang was half the fight!
Admit it, Zullie. You are a Radahn simp.
Miquella: *abandons fear
Radahn: Let's test that
I don't care what people say, to me Miquella is a monster. Why? Because for all his grand talk of compassion and love he only resurrected Radahn, NOT Leonard. Leaving Radahn without his beloved, trusty steed, that's straight-up cruel, Micky! 😉
@@NemoTheShark Maybe he doesn‘t want the competition?
@ArDeeMee Yeah that's probably it. Couldn't have goodest boy Leonard around hogging all Radahn's affection when Miquella wanted it all for himself 😅
Amazing work as always 🎉
Words cannot express how much I love Radahn. Or how much I almost devolved into insanity fighting him.
Ah yes the Valstrax approach to defeating your opponent in blazing fashion.
When you look up into the sky and just die from fear before you even get hit
1:43 Jesus that is fkn scary 😆
My favorite thing is how it evokes the imagery of some kind of Celestial Chariot crashing down. Like a true god of war's arrival.
2:00 So they are afterimages with mass! The entire fight was a Gundam F91 reference all along!
Radahn turns into Valstrax essentially lol
He even takes a cue from Risen Valstrax in Rise, turning into a star and firing a few projectiles before crashing down.
What I want to know is how the heck he managed to fail his invasion of Leyndell.
sote has very horrible camera/targeting ui~ so effects and new attacks aside~ fromsoft needs to fix the issues of the camera from going haywire~ hard doesnt mean crappy camera configurations that go crazy with the bosses just hogging the frame
None of this clarity on how this attack "works" really seems to clear up how bullshit it seems to be in practice. I still don't have the slightest idea how to counter it 100% like I do the original Starscourge version.
All those meteor and flashy light still cant destory my fingerprint shield lol
Then there's the tarnished that will just stay put and jump in place. This confuses the Radahn and makes him appear at the end location without the attack coming out. Not sure if that was fixed so far.
Meteor shower, METEOR SHOWER!
Probably the hardest fight in the game before the nerfs. But gosh darn, is it the most epic fight ever. The music too is just amazing.
whenever he flies up i just hear
“TACTICAL NUKE INCOMING!!!!” course i only made it to that point like twice before taking a break and never getting around to beating him.
Whatever you wanna call that end game boss (Miquella and puppet/prime ramiq) still couldnt match up to Malenia.
1. First phase is the most downloadable slop
2. Second phase is only a thing because of miquella and mohg
3. The devs just thought “well lets too malenia by just sending every attack spastically everywhere”.
1:43
"Omae Wa Mou Shindeiru".
The meteor is so annoying, many a run of mine was caught short by it
Every new Zullie video is a blessing!
Radahn went from mimicking Valstrax and Crimson Glow Valstrax to mimicking Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax...
Thanks for breaking this down for us. It’s a good thing he doesn’t heal or anything to trip the 25% health flag again and again.
anyone noticed the kings field IV catacombs background music?
This might make me sound insane, but I'm excited to go against him for real. My first playthrough, the game glitched while talking to Ansbach, killing Radahn instantly and gifting me the Remembrance. I was extremely upset at the mistake, but couldn't fix it. So I'm working to get back to it, with the hope I can face this titan for real.
When are we gonna get a cutting room floor mod that replaces radahn's phase 2 with astel falling as the meteor
Visually identical to a firework
I remember the run I finally killed him he did this and took out my help, and the only reason I lived was I used Raptor of the Mists on a shortsword I kept in pocket for this attack and the airstrike attack. We kept slugging it out and while he was at like his last bit of health I ran out of fp and was low on stamina and just kept frantically throwing knives until one hit him in the chest and he died.
I save my bubble tear specifically for the meteor attack.
I saw in another video that Miquellas eyes actually open when they fly up. Maybe even in shock.
Just woke up, happy to see a new video
