Excellent video! It is the exact same procedure for the 5.0 as well. I skipped over this video a couple times looking for one specifically about the 5L. Glad I made it back to this one.
Great video ... surprisingly one of the very few videos on changing radiators on a later year F150. I just recently had my 2009 F150 5.4L radiator changed and was able to unhook the condenser/transcooler from radiator. This way only the radiator came out and did not have to discharge/charge the A/C. This was particularly important for a DIY like me, not having the A/C equipment and minimizing costs/effort with discharging and charging A/C.
Hey my man by far, hands this is the best video I’ve ever watched. No nonsense, down and dirty snd to the point. Extremely detailed and thorough. You showed every single minor detail that is so often skipped. Thank you. Here is a thoughts, make a video on how to teach others how to make videos, just a thought. Again awesome video!!
removing the headlights and pulling the 13mm bolts that attach the crossmember that the horns attach to and tilting it forward gives ALOT more room to pull the rad out without disconnecting the ac
Great video, this is the 4th replacement radiator for this truck, it starts getting hot climbing in the summer here in Arizona and I know it is time. Used a Mishimoto radiator so I hope this is the last!
Thanks… my lower radiator hose is on there pretty good. Wasn’t sure if it needed to be twisted off, or pulled straight off. Now I know it just needs a little persuasion!!!
Wendell Greenidge for the most case yes. I'm not always involved in the parks buying decision at the shop but I do recommend the best quality parts that I can fine when I add links in the description
You do not need to unhook the A/C. You can remove the radiator from the stack without this step, whole process should take around 3 hours for a diy mech with only hand tools. I did it yesterday.

You sure? Dont have a wire harness or fuse box to deal with on the 2016 5.0. Multiple differences I'm seeing

How exactly did you accomplish that. Because I’m tackling my radiator on my 2010fx4 this weekend...
I have the same year, i'm glad I read this before I messed with my a/c
Experience is everything! That looked like a mighty intimidating job! You have to be experienced to take that job on! Good job Brian!
Darwin W overall it wasn't too bad just had her take your time. Thank you for watching!
How to Automotive I love watching your videos! Always enjoyable and informative!
Darwin W thank you!
You really did a great job here. You should start an ALLDATA like service. Much better info here for sure.
Thank you! I would need help doing something like AllData.
Dude thank you so much!!!! I could’ve done this and figure it out but you save me so much time and was so well presented!! It was easy to follow
Glad the video was helpful. Thank you for watching!
Hood up! I have a 2017 f150 I’m working on right now, it’s a different design, no fuse box on top of radiator
Same with my '16 ....did you have to evac your A/C on yours?
Great video, thanks! I'll be doing this on a '13 5.0L tomorrow, this makes it easy.

Oh man your comment saved me! I did not want to have to open the a/c lines and your trick worked perfectly. Thank you.

@@rjlittle53 how is ur mishimoto radiator. I’ve had bad luck. I’m on radiator 2 and got a 3rd replacement. About to replace or go back to OEM.
@@brianv2502You've had to replace the mishimoto one?
Thank you! Easy to follow and straight to the point. Nothing was left out.
Thank you and thank you for watching!

How can I find the plastic holder between the radiator and the condenser?
Great video those fords are something
Hector Rocha yes they are. Thank you for watching!!
This is the same for a 2009 F150 but you don't need to disconnect the A/C lines. Just lift the condenser off when you get the radiator freed up.
Is it possible to replace the condenser without puilling the whole radiator out?
How can you tell if your you have the standard or the larger radiator?
The refrigerator line what is the green liquid? Is under pressure? After lose the pressure how you put it back? Please help
Probably good practice to replace the condensor too while your at it? No?
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.🙂
What is that small looking radiator mounted to it? What is that for?
The thin full sized one is the AC condenser, the long skinny one is the Transmission oil cooler.
Do you prefer to use O.E.M replacement parts,

Nice vid very helpful
It seems as if you can leave the condenser in then you do have to remove the the refrigerant
Do you really have to drain the refrigerant? Can't you just disconnect the condenser from the radiator?
About to add another radiator in series, these factory radiators aren't even close to being large enough for towing up grades in high heat areas.

Benjamin Niesen. Yes! This! I just did it without disconnecting the AC. This is a power move!
Thanks I was just about to ask if I could.
Wow I was dreading disconnecting my ac lines thank you!
Great video, except your years are wrong. I have a 15 xlt ecoboost, looks nothing like this just fyi
God I hate ford.
He'll take it to Chief Radiator they will put it on right good price Dallas tx
