      The ladies or teenagers naming the vehicles in the beginning surely were no Germans; they used just the proper names. I guess they were French or French speaking Belgians by their accent.
      Indeed I noticed a pretty mix of languages throughout the video: French, Netherlands (or Flemish), some English, German, and maybe some others, too.

    The war machines of WWII are unique and so diverse. The smaller transports and the halftracks are something that should have survived the war as a design. Tiger, Tiger in the forest coming alive, absolutely amazing experience. As far as the WWII tanks holding their own in the 1960's is a questionable issue, they could have needed major refitting and changes to march the more moder armor battles of the Cold War. But it could have been possible for even the King Tiger to be good in some support role.

      @Imperial Overseer
      German tanks' mechanical issues are mostly a myth born from clueless wannabe historians who took things out of context and came to the wrong conclusions. Although some early models of vehicles were indeed unreliable, for the most part German tanks were a lot tougher and reliable compared to the Allied counterparts.
      The reason so many German tanks were lost to mechanical issues is because these vehicles were used almost constantly the moment they arrived to the front. They rarely had the privilege to get some maintenance, they were working non-stop until they broke down. It wasn't a case of unreliable tanks, it was a case of work overload and almost non-existent maintenance.
      The allies on the other hand had no such issues, and if a vehicle broke down they could easily afford to abandon it. German tank divisions on the other hand had to plan entire operations to salvage lost vehicles, they were that important to them.

      And that's where we get into the complicated intesection of systems that express in actual performance and cost benefit terms. Honestly, 40s tank technology was basically at a dead end until some breakthrough happened. HEAT could get through any armor regardless of thickness, the technology for advanced fire control didn't exist yet, and nobody had engines that could move them much faster. Everything past 20 tons was increasingly just a matter of diminishing returns, and past 35 tons, the gains were no longer worth the effort.

    Imagine that Konig Tiger had more time to fix its issues before being sent to battle. The few that did work as they where designed to do simply a beast. The thought of coming face to face id need a new change of underwear 😂

    Utube of post ww2 Sherman and panther Sherman was really bad off road cross country compared to panther which seemed unstoppable they surly were a much.better performer than Sherman and been a very hard enemy.to.defeat

      its because the American M4 sherman tank was single treaded which reduce performance of off road cross country crossing where the German Panther was dual or double treaded which gave it good performance of off road crossing.

    Germans victory would be in their hands If they have heavy air superiority like they had in lands. Excellent engineering. When it comes to ground but in air except stuka and a few like fw190 made the way. Germans should develop a 4 engined bomber like b17 or b29

      Pratyush Kishore Yes a Sherman easy 8 could..during the battle of the bulge an M8 greyhound with its 37mm gun took out a konigstiger from behind. Check out Mark Felton productions..he has a documentary about it.

    • @eastsidebadger8416
      @eastsidebadger8416 5 років тому +1

      Pratyush Kishore You bring up some good points but that M8 took those shots at very close range & Mark Felton is a noted historian & not just a you tube guy. Could’ve been a fluke weak spot in the armor of the Konigstiger as well that caused it to be taken out.

    A King Tiger isn't much to a T72 or any contemporary tank, but it must have been a pants browning moment in the 40s to realize you were fighting one.
