    I’d recommend gusto paycheck calculator. You can input hourly or salary rates as well as any insurance premiums, 401k etc.
    This tool has been super helpful for my family to plan for changes coming in January as well as forecast what checks would be like if we increased 401k for example and get new HSA limits etc.
    We also used it this summer to see how our take home pay would change after we got married. Awesome tool and it’s free!

    I can’t belive the cost for daycare 😱😮‍💨 so nice with your husbands raise. Crossing my fingers for a fat bonus for you! My kids haven’t even started their wish lists for christmas yet… I usually buy almost everything on black friday but this year I’m just lost 😅

      It’s so hard as they get older. My 10 year old is like almost at the age of not really wanting many “toys” anymore 😭😭

      @ last year we decided we need to stick to a stricter budget for birthdays and christmas so this year we’re implementing that. Hence why it’s nice to shop at black friday to get the most Bang for our buck, but who am I kidding, I always want the best price 🤑

    lol @ the snack break. Good thing you can deduct those daycare expenses from taxes! Wow that’s amazing that you guys saved $20k and didn’t have to touch it…

    Remember that you probably buy special food for the holidays and that could come out of the Christmas budget, too.

      Yes so true! we might allocate some money towards that too if needed

    I always feel bad when people talk about how expensive Daycare is. I have my own family childcare. I really try to keep it cost-effective. I do charge $800 a month for full-time care. I know that is a lot of money, but I have to make some money too, but I could charge a lot more being in the bay area, but I am wanting to keep my costs lower so that parents can have quality childcare/preschool at a pretty reasonable rate.

      I feel like that’s entirely fair! I should clarify, I’m happy to pay for quality childcare. Just a shock to the budget at times. But it’s so worth it! ♥️♥️♥️

    If your savings is all combined, how do you account for interest in your HYSA? Does it get added to your emergency “pot” each month or do you move it around depending on your priorities?

    • @DearDebt
      @DearDebt  Місяць тому

      We are currently putting all the interest in our vacation pot. But yes, we allocate it depending on what needs it. We’ve previously at times done it all to the car fund, etc. For now, vacation is getting priority :)

    😂 as your kids get older you’ll need more not less. Because the gifts get bigger.

    How is your childcare so cheap? My childcare is at least double the amount you pay.

      It’s not full time, only 3 days a week
