I have been watching a few different channels and it does get confusing!! This video was very helpful!!! In general I like to keep things simple! I watched someone cash stuffing monthly bills and was thinking that is too much for me. 😊❤
Right now my envolopes don't have categories. Simply 12 in each binder. I'm going right to left with each paycheck (all the money is for car maintenance anyway). When I get to doing even a little money for other than what I'm using now I'm not planning on doing categories like rent, water, gas, etc. Just have fun playing challenges with savings money. I know what I need that money for: when my mother dies, work on the house, ect. Not current bills!
I am really learning so much from following you! Thank you for sharing the process! My father, who lives with the rest of my family in Central Cali, is in in-home hospice care. I will be flying out in Feb. to spend a week with the fam even though I can't really afford to take a week off work. I am budgeting for it as best as I can, but financially I am worried that this decision is a really bad idea. I am hoping that you can make a vlog that speaks to when you have to do the thing, even when the budget screams "no". I am very sure this happens to all of us eventually!
Hey Jen, I'm a 31 going on 32-year-old sub-bee, and I am struggling to get my mind to get in the game, so I can start saving I'm restarting this month after months of being off probably a year, and now my brain says spend spend spend but my heart says no save save save. Please keep me in your prayers thank you for everything it's nice to see a cash budget that is a Christian so more kudos to you thank you for my boyfriend and I.
This is amazing! I love your videos so thanks you for sharing. I’ve been budgeting since January 2023 and I’m cruising along. I honestly don’t know how I lived without a budget before.
I love all your informative videos!!! I have my emergency fund fully funded, working on debt, but I keep having a hard time with my budget. Things are changing constantly, but I am not giving up, starting fresh in 2025!!!
Hey there! I just posted this one on Wednesday! 🤩 Getting Cash Binders Prepped For New Year | Cash Stuffing Check In ua-cam.com/video/pSdjrecj3pU/v-deo.html
There are certain categories that I use cash for & other categories that are with a debit card. For now, food is on dc b/c that way I can really track WHAT amounts are being spent on food products & ALL of food is together & separate out how much is being spent on dining & groceries in their own category & together. If that makes sense. MOSTLY it’s my sinking funds that are in cash. That way I can’t rob Peter to pay Paul basically. Things like… Christmas, HOA yearly fees, Education (we homeschool), Family birthdays, travel, hockey, etc.
I don't do cash stuffing but do digital saving challenges and drop the money in different saving accounts. Last year I was able to save 10000€ for a renovation project . Like the game aspect of your methode .It' s a great methode to keep your budget extra in line. Yesterday I used your shopping trip by rounding up the prizes as I was shopping ; spent less that way. Like your channel , very grounded and realistic goals to achieve.
Great video Jenn! I've been doing it for almost a year! I don't think we ever stop learning new tweaks that work for us. I would love to see a video about how to handle a quadro, the difference between a roth IRA, how to begin a cd ladder and tips on investing money. I watch videos not from the budgeting community about these things and just get more confused.
18:06 I have restarted my journey in October and I started with one binder and one envelope 😅 And every new month I add a new envelope. I document all this on my channel.... I decided to do that because I think it makes me more mindful of what is most important
Always have a car payment if you have a car, always. If your car is payed off, the money goes in a fund for the next car. Tomorrow or next week, next month, another driver can total your car. Plus if have an emergency and need a new fridge or water heater that money could help. More with the envolopes, allow for making changes. Try what you think will work and make changes as you find what will work.
@@sabner32017 😁😁😁 I think I have seen to few of the cash stuffers mention car funding. I don't want to even try getting an auto loan (probably won't even qualify) so having cash for a new to me car 🚗 when the time comes is the way.
Yesssss! I do this as well! I was even saving $50 for the next vehicle after I bought my van and had a loan. Now its paid off and I combined my loan amount and the $50 each month to save for the next vehicle. Always save for the next vehicle! 🙌
I have watched so many budgeting videos. But your channel is so basic and really easy to follow. I actually shared your channel with my 19 year old daughter to help her not make my same mistakes. Thank you
Hey Jenn. I am in between a Bee-ginner and a Worker Bee. We had a few things come up at the beginning of the year that I was thankful to have the funds for but then life happened and I got injured. We are slowly building back up our binders and next year is going to be better.
I’ve been cash stuffing since march and it seems to work for me, I’ve doubled my payments on my truck and it will be paid off in may. I would like to learn more about high yield savings , I joined one and then found out I’m not getting the interest I thought. Not sure what to do.
I’m in between Level 3 and 4. I write down how much I spend in my planner and complete savings challenges. I check my accounts frequently and automate transfers and investments. There is no wrong way to do this budgeting thing, but the end goals are all the same!
I think I am between a Bee- ginner and a Worker Bee. I have quite a few envelopes that have hit the goals and have saved us many times. Like the Vet evevelope that was a great help due to an unexpected trip and didn't touch the band card. My system has been working well and I am branching out and ready to create a working plan for 2025. But I still like to review each phase to make sure I am on top of what is working and what doesn't.
You sound like me- it has changed my life! Sooooo, Jason went to get the mail today and I had a goodie !!! I was so excited to see and I love the bag and the keychain! Thank you so much for thinking of me. 💛 The bag will be a perfect bank bag! 💰🥳
I tried to start in October but I was so overwhelmed and felt like I was behind, I decided to wait until January butttt you were the first person I watched and I HAVE cut my eating out bill in half after going through 3 months of statements. (I actually don’t know if it was you or April)
Thanks! This video made me feel a lot less bad about my financial progress. I've been tracking for the past 3 months and I realized I definitely have areas I can save in.
For sure- we all do! Remember that we are being marketed to nonstop. By huge companies with an unlimited budget. We are brainwashed - in a way. Once you start to see it- you can’t unsee it. You will start to really see things that you didn’t before. 🐝- Jenn
Love your approach to budgeting! I've been budgeting since May of 2021. Took a little getting used to at the beginning but now it's like breathing and I continue to refine it.
Hi Jen. I am 45 years old and feel at times like a bee-ginner. I used to do the cash envelopes about 15-20 years ago and felt like it worked well for me. Over the years our income has gone up but i feel like our expenses just kept going up too. We have paid off quite a bit of debt, but we're still about same place financially as we were (as far as savings, etc). Got into the habit of using credit/debit and not thinking about what we are spending. After watching your videos I'm going back to cash again, but feeling a bit frustrated and i have no idea what level i am!
Hello jen, I have been following 2 sister bee for a while & I love all the videos. I have been struggling with the budgeting & savings, I have no EF or anything ☹️. Is it best to take all the money out of the bank on payday& just leave only the money for bills that you have online??
That’s what I did. I left bills with what I would consider a nice cushion and took cash out for spending. Decided on specific amounts for certain things and just started. I may do another how to budget video. What other questions would you have. ?
Hi Jen how are you today? I'm still in the like somewhat beginner phase although I've been watching you for a while newbie phase as you say. I have watched your videos about making income extra also cutting back trying to call the companies to ask them to help lower your payments. I'm at a point where I tried that they don't want to help you lower anything anymore. I think because so many people are asking them. I've cut back everything I could cut back on. I'm at the point where it's winter time and I'm not turning my heat on because I can't afford it. To washing my clothes like once a month because I'm trying to fill up the laundry bag as much as possible so I don't have to have so many trips to the laundry. Stop eating out unless somebody else is paying. As I told you before I'm disabled I cannot work. I have no other means of extra income. So what do I do I have no extra to save my bills and credit cards are like I have 20 bills and credit cards together. They're not totally maxed out but the minimum payments are very high for me so I don't know what to do. I don't make enough to cover my living expenses. I'm on SSI and SSD. What SSI I get $77. And on SSD I get $ 914. That's not enough to cover all of my bills together come to I guess $1,215.00. I did completely pay off a loan after 5 years in October 2024. But it seems like even that money is not covering my other bills anymore I don't understand what's going on how that works but it's not working. I did when I first started watching your videos started making the like you said the one binder I did save up a little money in the beginning but I'm now depleting those monies so it's hard for me to try to do any savings. What do I do? Those monies that I did save earlier is what's helping me cover you know the lack of what I don't have to pay all of my bills. But what do I do when that's all gone?
Hello there - your situation is very specific. When the only income is very low benefits - and you are unable to work- I assume - You will have to start looking for outside assistance. Having roommates, other women in your same situation. Contact 211.org for local assistance programs. I’m not sure what your living situation is but that would be #1. Focus on your roof, your utilities and your food.
Im trying to get my head around cash stuffing. I've been watching some of your older videos. And I think you say dont use cash for bills (makes sense) however youre using cash for pet insurance and grandaughters college fund. So if tou cash stuff every week, how iften do you have to go to the bank? How do you reoncile wht needs to go in to cover pet insurnce and grandaughters college fund vs what denominations of bills you need to take out? Is there a aheet you use for this? I dont know how I would work this I would just get confused lol
