Hi coach michelle!! tks so much for posting again!! I recently just landed my axel after watching your 6 min video on how to do the axel. I have been working on my axel for almost two yrs, and i cant believe how amazing and helpful ur videos are. plz keep posting, and i'm watching your stretching videos rn! your amazing, and luv from columbus, ohio!
I'm 11 years old and I do really wanna skate and to be a competitive figure skater, although I can't make it to Olympic. Just to achieved and experience my dream a sport that's enough to me 🥺. Your videos really help me a lot thank you! ❤️ I hope i can find a rink. Wish me luck
Hi Michelle! I’m a huge fan of all of your helpful content! I really want to encourage each adult skater out there!! It takes a lot of patience but if you have the grind then everything will come. I started at 23 and skated and competed for 2 years at the adult level till I was 28. Life events then happened and took me all over the place but I stayed consistent with my fitness and now with a much stronger and prepared body I’ve been back to skating for 4 months at 35years old and I’m seeing huge improvements by keeping up with weight, hiit and plyometric training with a lot of ice time. Thank you for always inspiring us!!!! ⛸🤍
Thank you so much for sharing your experience this is absolutely inspiring! I'm 23 and just starting just like you were and I'm hoping to be able to compete at some point as well. It's really encouraging to hear from someone who's done it!
Your videos are so inspiring and helpful. I'm not able to take lessons due to my mum not liking the distance on how far our local rink is. And I've been self teaching myself to skate since I was 9 (I'm now 15) due to being inspired by the ice princess film. I've had some help from my dad aswell. Hopefully after things have smoothed over in the world, I will beg my mum to let me take lessons. I will use your tip for off ice training whilst I'm not able to go to the rink as frequently.
Oh my goodness there are so many options where you are. With us, there's one option for a class and it's for everyone all levels all ages. Off-ice training is making a huge difference for me. It's too bad the rink is closed but I'll keep my training up so I'll be good to go when the rink opens back up.
Hi Hannah! I will be launching Coach Michelle Academy recordings in the spring time so you can follow my workouts virtually! Be on the look out. Hopefully in the near future we can travel again!
Hello! Sorry to bother but I have a question. I live in Romania, in a city that has ice rinks just 2 months per year, in the winter, and no figure skating teams. I wanted to ask if you think I can learn figure skating on my own, at home and then on the ice in the winter? I watched almost all your videos on TikTok and UA-cam and I’m trying to learn more and more. At home I practice on the ground or with my roller skates, and when I have the possibility, on the ice. And I never took a skating lesson, just what I watched on UA-cam or TikTok. Love you and thank you so much!❤️
Hi Maria, I am so sorry your rink is only open 2 months out of the year. Your next best option would be to invest in Polyglide Ice. Feel free to use my discount code "coachmichellehong" for 15% off: www.polyglidesyntheticice.com/
You can also purchase some inline figure skates - they're a bit different, but you can learn on them most of the things youre doing on ice. I don't have enough money and space for synthetic ice, so i can skate outdoors with them - they're a bit expensive, but its worth it!
I really want to go ice skating but thay are all closed 😭I’ve been begging my mum to take me to ice skating class but she said they are all closed I’m sad 😔
thank you so much , i found this video super useful . i am an adult skater who start skating 2018 oct . ever since, i just could not stop skating LOVE IT
Ahh thank you the only thing I have is I have been skating for a few years I only have my waltz and a little bit of a one foot spin I’ve never been taught minus from UA-camd because my parents won’t sign me up for anything or they forget😅 but this helps so thank you
I started skating in a group class when I was little but gave up and didn't skate for years. Now I want to start again but there is no ice ring where I live, so I thought maybe I can practice off-ice and when I go to a city with an ice rink, I will work on the ice.I hope it opens here soon.
I've learn yt tutorial to learn, because I really want but I don't have a group classes in my city :( I need to travel to bigger city which is about 2h away from my home, that's way I'm so sad during my whole life that I can't learn with some experienced people. I'd love to have a lessons, but.. well, I can't. I'm going on ice ring almost every day when is opened, but sometimes it's hard to understand everything in english from tutorial and i have a problem to learn some new stuffs :( Love u, good luck!
I can't even tell it to my parents that I want to figure skate TvT plus the fact that there are no rinks near our house. Anyways, I live in Philippines too. Mwehehe.
I wanna start skating but i won't be able to start it for a year since there is no ice rink where i live. Should i start off-ice training at home? If yes, how?
I wish the ice rinks near me are open because of covid. Do you have any tips or ways to skate at home or approve not one ice? skating is my Favroit sport I have been doing since I was 6 or 7.
quick question, if the rink I skate at is an outdoor rink that closes for late spring to early autumn and group classes last for eight weeks, would I have to wait until the next year to do private lessons?
I have an ice rink 6 hours away from me, where I live we only have ice rinks while Christmas, I wish I had a rink near me since I really want to ice skate
