My '17 6 is just as nice as the cx5. Mazda has absolutely stepped up their game. Looks and luxury is subjective, but in my personal opinion they got it.

For anyone buying a car for reasons other than the badge on the front, this CX-5 can absolutely compete with the German offerings. Mazda really has become

I'm really looking forward to what Mazda could come up with in 5 -10 more years. They're evolving really fast and really good

What an awesome backdrop for a roadtest! Great review too - there's no doubt that the CX-5 has upped its mantra to the next level

Kudos to Mazda for the head-up display... a 360-degree surround view display would surely be a good inclusion for the next model.

I'm impressed enough to buy one, 2018 CX-5 Red! I have a 2016 MX-5 and I love it also, and when I drove the new CX-5, well it was really good in the driving area, sound, etc, the best out there in the class. Kept up the good work on your videos.

Agree, drove it yesterday. It was as quiet as Q5 and drove great! Big surprise for a $34K car. Thanks for great review!

I'm a Mazda guy and am really glad their finally attacking NVH. For the $$$$$, the new Dodge Chargers are the quietest/lowest NVH cars I've driven. The way they soak up road noise is something special. Hopefully Mazda gets to that level someday. They got to add some power to compete with the high end market. This car also needs the turbo 4 and the Diesel (which can't come soon enough).

It's good enough to stop my search for vehicle upgrade! (Currently driving the 2014 Mazda 3)

Does it still have the i-Stop feature? And is the default is still ON?

Dave is the man. As usual he comes across as the consummate car guy who absolutely loves his job. This sort of love is always a good indication of how good a product is and Mazda is truly stepping up their game. I own a 2016 6 and have driven a 2017 6 and the evolution of small changes in materials quality and NVH is very noticeable. I would easily buy this over any of the overpriced Euro brands. Ultimately Mazdas biggest hurdle is their badge. It will take some time to crack that glass ceiling, but I honk more reviews like this and good word of mouth will help drive sales and their goal as a premium brand.

I need awd and I'm torn between this and a Subaru Legacy (not interested in. a forester)...any suggestions??

@MotoManTV -- I'm considering purchasing one. Although you mentioned the dash's centralized hub / display (which is too far from your arm and not embedded into the dash) -- Does it block your line of sight while driving? Is this a good feature in the vehicle or just another - "I wish they had not changed that" - sort of thing?
