One of my favorite oldies, that take me back our family spring vacation when I was in 7th grade. It was the year we traveled through the deep south and the Smoky mountains. This song, never gets old and, it takes me home, everytime I hear it.
Ah, yes. Summer of '71, between 7th and 8th grade, this song came drifting out of our am radios, triggering the dreams that would drive some of us a handful of years later. Thanks for the moment of nostalgia.
I was a young kid when this was a hit (maybe 9 years old, if it was the summer of 1971 as another commenter said). My sister had a big ol' stuffed animal dog that was blue in color which she named.... of course. "Blue." When I heard this song, I thought he was singing of a dog named "Blue," because, of course I did.
This one is on the playlist for traveling. We are months away from traveling the country in an RV with our two dogs. Always loved this song since I was a kid. Thanks for sharing!
Wow thank you for this song. Been years since I heard it and reminds me of the days when I was a seasonal worker in the fields. How could I have known back then that they were the best days of my life.
Lobo had a bunch singer-songwriter hits. His two other top ten hits, "I'd Love You To Want Me" and "Don't Expect Me To Be Your Friend" have particularly clever lyrics.
Commercial schlock - but if you were the right age when it came out, it has a melancholy, nostalgic appeal - maybe it was playing on the radio of a car that picked you up hitch-hiking late one night .....
Tasha I'm a little confused lately I've seen you by yourself playing music and doing your own reactions is there something wrong with your better half mind I only listen about an hour a day being a custom home builder doesn't give me much time to myself I'm either on the phone with clients or doing paperwork bids pay roll ect please explain I do miss your cowboy and you together doing the show???

We had a dog named Boo when I was growing up...maybe this is why!
This song always makes me want to go wandering. ❤
Thank you so much for the sweet memories. This was my most favorite song as a child, apparently according to my family, I sang it all the time! ❤️😂
