    I once went from the darkest black, to my natural colour (very light golden brown-blonde) with two uses of Scott Cornwall's Colour B4. It shrinks the dye and washes out clear. It's the only thing I personally trust on my hair.

    I'm doing a bleach bath because my hair is a level 4 which looks almost black. I have a level 6 so I'm hopeful that the 20 volume will be enough to lift it. I did phone my hairdresser and he said that it will work. The annoying thing is I don't necessarily want it lighter it just needs some oomph to it and the only way I'm going to get that is to experiment with lighter shades of brown. Best bit the level 4 was meant to be medium brown, I got it from Sally's thinking it would be better than box dye which I've used for years! Fingers crossed it turns out a nice medium brown and I'll get high and low lights put through it the next time I go to my hairdresser but I'll be keeping my base around a 6 from now on. Thanks for the advice beautiful xx

    this helps me alot, I've had dyed hair for 5 years now and I usually don't go into using anything with red undertones because I don't really know how to get them out. I also wasn't sure if hair removers would remove my bleached hair, but now that i know it just brings my hair back to its bleached point/close to it. As for the smell, yeah, it's not pleasant, but I'm 56 and was expecting some kind of perm smell from the 70's, nope not that bad. I remember the ladies in the salon, sitting under hair dryers, smoking, the smell was putrid, this is mild compared to those days! So happy that I did not do the bleach method, thanks again.

    Another way to explain it that I understand it is that highlighting hair is bleaching it, stripping it of color to a point that looks good and you can’t unbleach hair. Once you hair that pigment is gone.

    Can I do a bleach wash to remove henna from my hair?

    • @shelleyr6013
      @shelleyr6013 4 роки тому +5

      Angie - Hi. I used to henna and I was able to use a bleach highlighting kit to lighten it a bit, BUT the true henna amber/red is not going to really go away. I just got light a,beer red highlights. Henna truly bonds to the hair shaft. When I was tired of henna, I started dyeing it a kind of auburn brown and eventually I put dark brown over it and got a very dark mahogany black/brown.

    • @sarahptvd1055
      @sarahptvd1055 3 роки тому +1

      I tried it and at first it did not change anything at all, my hair only got damaged. After a few Bleaching sessions my hair started to get a little Bit lighter (in the length it got like a lighter tone of the reddish brown i had because of the henna) and it started to appear greenish at the scalp but i ignored it and lightened it again. Then my hair was really green and red. Maybe because the henna i used had Indigo mixed with it. I tried coloring on it with box dye but my hair didnt grab it and it was washing out after 2-3 weeks, making tue green appear again. Now i shaved my head because of it.

    • @HillbillyYEEHAA

      I've heard vitamin c and dandruff shampoo works well for this.

    I challenge you to do color removal using VITAMIN C powder (NOT emergen-C) & a clarifying shampoo in equal amounts (I used Garnier clarifying shampoo- silicon/paraben free) saturate scalp to ends & wrap in plastic 1 hour. IT WORKS & zero damage! If you had brassy hair before u put something darker over it, any remover will not change that (but my brassiness was lessened a bit). As Sylvia said- you will be left with what you had before you colored it- for blondes, the pigment has already been removed/lightened so that hair will be as it was after highlighting/bleach or whatever.
    My hair is naturally level 7 & I had highlights. Due to recently moving & a career change, I can't go to the salon anymore. I did my hair color for 20 years & my hairdresser said it was so beautiful that it looked professional & never bugged me to let her color it. Then Clairol changed their formulation & now I get hot roots (strawberry blonde) that I can't seem to get past, it seriously makes me crazy!!!! I LOVED Sylivia's Wella toner video & worked like a charm- but I hated the way my hair felt after, will never use Wella products again. I covered all that up with Ion brand level 7.5a Demi color. It's too dark/flat looking, guess I needed a filler for the top section of old highlights. So I just did the Vitamin C color striping it worked!!! In a couple days I will do a pigment fill & then color & PRAY that will be beautiful=) I'm going for something closer to my natural shade....

    I love your videos!! QUESTION: What is the best flat iron for thick hair?? I have thick hair & I have a lot! I love putting my hair down, but most days I end up pulling it up in a pony tail. I'm a working mom with 2 kids under 4 & I'm usually running around making sure they have everything & have stopped taking care of myself much. I also have hypothyroid & that's changed my hair. I use to get compliments all the time of how beautiful my hair was & I would curl it & straighten it. I love it! But now I have little time to spend on my hair & my texture is just frizzy. I never had that problem before the thyroid problem. :( So every time I buy a flat iron it doesn't leave my hair straight or silky like it use to. It's still puffy & frizzy. I have like 4 or 5 flat irons I've abandoned, because I feel I don't get the results I want. So I would like your help PLEASE!!!! I want to feel good about myself again. I want to love getting ready & styling my hair down.

    COLOR REMOVER will remove ONLY the ARTIFICIAL COLOR. If your natural color had been LIFTED or changed by the Haircolor Products you had used before, you will be left with whatever remains of your original color if any. Using Crystalline Vitamin - C (Pure Ascorbic Acid ) can completely remove most permanent oxidizing tints while leaving the natural color that remains, untouched and even reverse some of the oxidation damage.

    Right now I have crushed 15 vitamin c pills (very fine powder, put them in a plastic bag and crushed them with a metal can and rolled them)and some shampoo (any shampoo will work) and a little apple cider vinegar(optional not nessecarry) it’s been in for an hour and the colors coming out already. I’m going to leave it on for an additional hour (2 hours) because I’ve heard amazing things.. judging by it it’s already working and I’m going to do the vitiman c and shampoo method again. My hair was dyed brown and blonde and I put a brown on top of it and the brown is now what’s now coming out. I might try a color stripper but if I change my mind I’m doing this again.

    I have naturally dark blond hair with a lot of gray. For years I highlighted it every 3 months to camouflage the gray which worked well. Then I decided to color it dark blond. I’ve only done it 3 times (starting last November). I liked the color, but despise the maintenance (every 4 weeks). I tried the vitamin C method to try to remove the color. It’s lighter, but a very golden blond - not good! I’ve been growing it out during the quarantine so about 4 inches are my natural (dark blond with lots of gray) color. It’s not cute! Would you recommend the color remover for my situation? I wish I’d never colored it. 😢 Any tips you have would be helpful and much appreciated. I live in a very small town, and don’t know if my stylist even knows how to fix this once they reopen. Blue shampoo? Anything? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

    I bleached my hair and damaged the crap out of it going from dark brown to about a level 8-9. That was 3 years ago. I decided to apply a demi color and just let my hair rest, and heal. I've been using the same color ever since then, but I'm tired of chasing the gray, and want to transition to my natural gray.
    But the issue is that the Demi color is now stuck in the back of my hair, and will not budge. The front and sides the color is almost gone but the back is almost as dark as it was at the beginning. I've not colored it for at least 6 months, and have washed the heck out of it with sulfate shampoo, putting epsom salt in my bath water, tried Vit C an dandruff shampoo and clarifying shampoo-more than once, color remover twice, but this demi crap ain't giving up.
    As bad as I hate to I'm thinking I probably am going to have to do a bleach bath on it, and hope it pulls this mess out. I've heard of others using developer, baking soda, dish liquid, and purple shampoo, and some others just using Plain 10 or 20 volume developer and it removing their color.(I've not tried either of those. Will either of those work to remove Demi color, and be less harmful than a bleach bath?) LOL I guess you can tell I'm really dreading the thought of using bleach again because bleaching the last time cost me 16" of hair.
    When a person's hair has been damaged by bleach how likely is it that a quick bleach bath will start the breaking cycle over again on the remaining hair that was beached damaged before?

    I have colored my hair black for years and now want to get it out and go natural, al the videos I have seen don't show if these color removals work, if you're grey. I'm all grey now, two tone grey at that, but I cant find any info on this.

      If you have layered black box dye over and Over for years color remover won’t work. And
      Bleaching will Ultimately fry your hair. Go for subtle hilights and see what happens with that. Getting Lighter will take time. Maybe 6 months to a year if done right. Also your hair will Not be grey under this. It will be Orange. If you have done black maybe one time, maybe twice, color remover should work. It will probably leave your hair orange too, but this process will not damage your hair. Black bOx dye is a colorists nightmare!!! The absolute worst. Also, if you remove the color and you like what you see, before applying any other color on hair, do a quick rinse with 10 vol. this will tell u if you have removed all black dye. I’ve seen too many stylists get the color removed and Add a lighter color to hair like light ash brown and
      Because some of the black dye molecules were left
      Deep in the hair shaft, the developer reprocesses those color Molecules and Now
      Your light brown ash color is black again.. I’m telling you, total nightmare. But can be done by the right professional.

    Hi I recently discovered you! I really appreciate your expertise in icy hair coloring. I'd like to know more info on how to find the perfect root color when the rest of you hair is icy blonde. I feel like no matter what level 7 dark blonde or light brown color I choose, it always ends up looking orange and brassy near the roots. Please help :/

    • @bevd.5458
      @bevd.5458 7 років тому

      It sounds like you are doing the roots everytime you change the color. That's why the roots are so bright. when you are using a darker color. If your hair was previously colored most light brown or dark blonde comes out much darker than you want. Try a semi-perm color.

Coppery medium brown 😭 I used ion and all that bleach damage for nothing 😭😭😭😭 trying to lighten it up with heavy shampooing but it’s not budging. Any advice anyone??

    Would this work for orange-ish colored hair? I went to a hair salon to get purple-ish looking hair and the girl gave me red highlights. Totally not what I asked for. 😅😅😅 (Ever since I’ve been nervous about going to a salon) my hair has faded into a lighter orange now and my roots are super light brown (I’m sure she colored the darker parts of my hair with some kind of brown). Now I just want to dye my hair a light brown but I’m not sure if the orange will stay or if it’ll turn an ugly color so I’m thinking of lifting the color but I’m not sure if I should since there was some brown hair dye added to the darker areas. Help!? ☹️

    • @behicana
      @behicana 6 років тому +1

      You can try a color remover, but they are usually for permanent color. But check there is no bleach in it, just make sure it's the kind that just removes artificial pigments and doesn't do damage. If that doesn't work, try the vitamin c method more than 1 time probably. If that doesn't work, the harshest is bleach bath with if you think the hair isn't fragile. Hair that was platinum has very little natural pigment and protein left and bleach will break it.

    i've been using natural instincts semi permanent color for the past year to make my hair medium brown. How will color oops brand work for me? My hair is pretty gray naturally at this point. And that's fine with me I'm just hoping I don't end up with orange hair. I'd be happy with very light brown or blonde. I thought natural instincts would be the mildest, but it seems to have left my hair very frizzy and dry. Anyone else have that experience?
