I’ll never forget the time I was walking through a train station in Melbourne and i faintly heard the sound of a busker playing a song on his guitar. I actually couldn’t believe my ears as I immediately recognised the song was “for mom” from bucketheads colma album which is an absolute favourite of mine. I pushed through the crowds following the sound and when I found him I just stood there and listened and had a massive smile on my face as all the other commuters rushed past without even a glance. After he finished I just asked him “that’s for mom right” and he was so unbelievably happy that I had recognised it.
Exactly, he doesn't do music for the recognition, he does it for the people who love his music and doesn't seem to care about fame given he has the pull to do larger venues but almost always does small venue shows to keep it personal. He's one weird feller but he definitely cares for his fans and just wants to play for them and that seems to be it.

I'm 63 years old and have just discovered Buckethead's music.....what have I been missing! This video is a very fitting tribute and introduction to this amazing musician. Long may he continue to create music....and thank you Buckethead for all of your wonderful output to date.
I'm not a huge Buckethead fan, but I appreciate genius level playing when I hear it and see it. He obviously just *loves* playing for sake of it. Peace 🙏
Discovered buckethead several years ago. For me his music is transcendental, timeless, because it tells tales from the heart and soul. For me he's the most complete guitarrist of all time.
Not complete because he should be just so much more marketed and utilized. I guess he played with Guns and Roses way back. I wish you'd play with Ozzy or you know Big Time rocker group
As a fellow massive fan of Buckethead I want to compliment you on your most excellent video tribute to the true master of guitar, unrivaled by anyone currently actively playing. He is the King of Guitar
The man is indeed a legend. I'm not having any problems finding his shred work, but I'm having a hell of a hard time finding his ambient work. If anyone is willing to drop me some album names, I'd be forever grateful!
dawn appears, patrolman, whitewash, walk on the moon, dragging the fence, animal behaviour, andrew henry's meadow, she sells sea shell , the sky is heavy , midnight sun , padmasana , hills of eternity , lone sal bug , the other side of the dark , canverous and many many more
Dude this makes me so happy. Buckethead was my very first concert ever in 2008 in Nashville. He holds a special place in my heart and I still listen to him regularly. Thanks for the great video.
Now that I play guitar, I have sooooo much more respect and admiration for Brian. Dude is insanely incredible at guitar. I'm perplexed at just how great he is.
When I die, I have left specific instructions to have a DJ playing nothing but Buckethead during my service. Nothing more beautiful & special to me in my entire life that eased so much of the pain I have endured mentally, physically & emotionally. Do yourself a solid and go down the rabbit hole that is the amazing collection of the most prolific musical artist of our time.
Loved the video. I am a big GNR fan and I am in the minority when I say Buckethead is the greatest GNR Guitarist of all time. I loved how you displayed the side of Buckethead with the toys and his connection and all he does for his fans. That is super cool.
Buckethead is in my opinion the most emotional guitarist of our time. I can't think of another. Waves ahead of Petrucci, Vai, or any of the others. Some of his stuff is just randomness, but when he wants to write a ballad, their is nobody than can coax emotion out of a guitar better.
Great video. I’ve seen Buckethead twice before. At the second show he gave away some magnetic letter to put on the fridge, people tore the package up and there I was standing next to all the chaos. After the package ripped open I got down on my hand and knees picking up these letters. I got most of them and till this day I still have them.
I appreciate Buckethead's music so much. So much crap is out there by so called artists that is making millions for nothing yet Buckethead's music is the real gold, the real and true diamond. I love his musical genius. It is so much more than just a guitarists playing guitar. There is so much emotion and heart into his music that sometimes I can even see his mask express it. Really blows me away...
I very recently started listening to Buckethead, only a few days ago. I’d only known him from his work on the lost Texas Chainsaw spin-off. But just in a span of a few days, he’s already one of my favorite artists. I wanna give him a handshake or a hug or something, his appreciation of his fans is something a lot of musicians lack. Never thought a guy with a bucket on his head would make me this happy
With spidercrawl fingers! He also recent years had heart problems I understand. And he had spine issues. Although he always wears his mask. I get the feeling I know him more than any other non mask-wearing guitarist/musician some of his songs are just heart warming and life changing. I followed a lot of the news just like the podcast which came online with him first talking. And he's just genuine creativity oozing guitar Wizard not more to say lol. I feel like he writes sometimes the music I would love to come up with and it feels like the story of my life. In some of his songs, it's like he's multiple personalities in one cause of his feeling his bends his all-round string feeling on the fretboard. I find him the most unique. And I want/dream he'd come to tour the Netherlands. I would go without hesitation. I would sell almost my last and only known kidney to date. He has so many beautiful emotional songs. He is like multiple guitarists into one with his feeling and I feel it's once in a lifetime someone with his talent gets to play. There are a handful of others though almost near Big B to me. It's unfortunate and a bummer that he doesn't tour outside the states.
And even for his length I believe he is near 2m around 1.98 or 6'6. He has freakingly long hands and fingers. I wonder if these things he suffers from his spine and heart are because he has Marfan, or is just very thin and, one thing I know for sure must be living healthy diet. I'm pretty much overweight by a lot. He's just skinny and dexterity with nunchucks also amaze me. Nun chaka Kata. I love that one. He's really just a ninja with robot like precision.
Got invited to a show at the Hollywood Knitting factory in the early 2000's. I didnt know who he was prior to the show. Dude, that show changed my life. Buckethead is hands down, the greatest guitar player I've ever heard of. I was lucky enough to be handed a Tie Fighter by Bucket. Sadly I've lost it over the years. But it was one of my prized possessions.
I have entered the Buckethead world late but my oh my I've been in love with him for near about 2 years now. Padmasana makes me weep & sleep & even meditate, all at the same time
I LOVE Buckethead and his fandom! This guy is IMMENSELY talented and he just fucks off. He's the greatest, most under rated and hardest working guy in show biz. Who can put out so much music? BUCKETHEAD! BTW I own Electric Sea, Electric Tears and Coloma. His soft stuff is just as good as his bangers. It takes you to another world, because he is not human. He's transcended this form and evolved into something new. Long live BUCKETHEAD!
I have big respect for this guy, loving music more than anything else, “Look up there”, “Aunt Suzie”, “Soothsayer” and “Hold me forever” are my favorite songs of his, and the fact that he puts all that time and passion into his music makes the music even more enjoyable, love this guy.
I saw this legend live for the first time in Cincinnati last Friday. I loved his music since middle school! It was the most amazing and surreal experiences of my life. It was everything I hoped for and more. I even got a gift! A box of toy cars ;)
i am a fairly new fan. i meani have heard of him for 20 years and i have enjoyed some of his music here and there but im just now going downt he rabbit hole. this man is amazingly talented and humble
Bucket is the man! He isnt like anyone else out there! Id say we need more people like him but then more people would be like him and i only need one buckethead!!
Okay, you sold me. I’m gonna check out this guy’s work a lot closer. I always knew he was very good. But I didn’t know he was more than just another shredder. Thanks for the info.
If you want to have a fantastic experience go to a Buckethead concert. I have been to 3 of them and loved every minute of them. The last one was May of this year and the man that plays Harlan Sanders for the KFC commercials was there in his white suit shaking hands with the crowd and everyone loved him. It is a night you wont forget.
I’ll be totally honest, I should know much more about Buckethead for the type of music I listen to. For some reason, I never really listened to his music, nor do I know anyone who does in my inner circle of friends. I’ll have to give him a chance and check out his music. I can definitely respect the fact that he give to his fans and seems to be down to earth and really only in it for the music he loves.
A friend likes this guy and I just thought he was some sort of Village People nut case. After watching this video, I must say that he seems pretty cool.
Just found you on Natternet. Really great commentary on the amazing Buckethead. Love him and his music. He got me through my post-grad program. I'm always so happy to see new stuff on him. Natternet is my go to for positivity and information. I don't usually subscribe to channels. I think you are my third one! Hope to see more from you. Great job!
The mask is certainly somewhat distancing but if he's happiest and most comfortable in the mask and bucket I wouldn't want it any other way! How can you not love this man.... What a man..what a musician...

and soad
Colonial Claypools Bucket of Burnie Brains
I could hear Les and bucket head makes sounds all day, every day! This music really fucking moves me
buckethead's music always brings tears to my eyes, no matter if its just his loud shredding or his calm acoustic stuff, its all so beutiful
4:56 one time at one of his shows I got to touch the kill switch and I tapped out the rhythm of Night Of The Slunk and he followed along, it was magic
Glorious
You left out one of the most important things about him: his mysterious nature.
Another important thing: He doesn't throw the toys at people. I suppose in part to avoid a lawsuit. But maybe to be more personal. That's important.
@nynetynyne He also is not constantly getting hit on by fans and dose not need a bodyguard.
Here in my mid 60's, I am so glad to learn that real music is still being made and legends live. My Uber driver was playing his music and clued me in. A new world of music awaits...
I never heard of him since today: I just surfed on some youtube tapping technique videos and he popped up. He's is just outstanding! I love it!❤️
I'm 63 years old and have just discovered Buckethead's music.....what have I been missing! This video is a very fitting tribute and introduction to this amazing musician. Long may he continue to create music....and thank you Buckethead for all of your wonderful output to date.
You should listen Dream Theater, and Tool too 🙂
How can you not love, admire and respect this man? Beautiful
“Complete”... a great adjective to describe the man.
Not complete because he should be just so much more marketed and utilized. I guess he played with Guns and Roses way back. I wish you'd play with Ozzy or you know Big Time rocker group
BucketHead is one of the uncrowned King of Guitar.
As a fellow massive fan of Buckethead I want to compliment you on your most excellent video tribute to the true master of guitar, unrivaled by anyone currently actively playing. He is the King of Guitar
I was at that show where he let that guy play Soothsayer in Burlington VT in April 2018. That was very very cool and the guy killed it!
The man is indeed a legend. I'm not having any problems finding his shred work, but I'm having a hell of a hard time finding his ambient work. If anyone is willing to drop me some album names, I'd be forever grateful!
Check out this link. You can filter his Pike releases based off genres: www.decino.nl/projects/pike-suggester
Check his work with Praxis
electric sea, or electric tears .. always my fav's enjoy !
@@michaelstewart8290 Thanks for this! I just couple days ago wound BH music
dawn appears, patrolman, whitewash, walk on the moon, dragging the fence, animal behaviour, andrew henry's meadow, she sells sea shell , the sky is heavy , midnight sun , padmasana , hills of eternity , lone sal bug , the other side of the dark , canverous and many many more
When I heard that he gave out toys to people in the audience my heart melted. I really wish I could be friends with him.
I love Buckethead so much! Brian is sure thing, very talented. His versatility is awesome.
I'm 48 and JUST heard Soothsayer for the first time. Now I'm learning everything I can about Buckethead and its AWESOME. 🤘
Dude this makes me so happy. Buckethead was my very first concert ever in 2008 in Nashville. He holds a special place in my heart and I still listen to him regularly. Thanks for the great video.
Not to mention Buckethead is amazing to see live, I myself have seen him twice and I'd see his shows a million more times if I could!
Now that I play guitar, I have sooooo much more respect and admiration for Brian. Dude is insanely incredible at guitar. I'm perplexed at just how great he is.
I'm like kinda new to his music but this video made me respect him as a person as well an not just exclusively his music nomsayin
Brian Patrick Carroll ... incredible musician .
Buckethead is in my opinion the most emotional guitarist of our time. I can't think of another. Waves ahead of Petrucci, Vai, or any of the others. Some of his stuff is just randomness, but when he wants to write a ballad, their is nobody than can coax emotion out of a guitar better.
Very well said! I agree completely.
Gary Moore.
Well guthrie govan exists
Vai's whispering a prayer gets me as much as soothsayer
Ballad ? For the love of god
My favorite guitarist! Seeing in live was amazing
4:43 “well other guitarists“
*show lil wayne*
Lmao
He did play the guitar for some reason at his concerts, of course it was the worst sound ever produced on a guitar
Thanks for this! Will be directing future Buckethead fans here. I've been a fan since first hearing BH in 2005.
From one buckethead nerd to another - great job brother, a very touching video, and also a very detailed one. Keep up the good work!!
Thank you, my friend!
God, I remember the old Bucketheadland flash site that just kept creepily saying, "music is my life..."
Buckethead forever
Always loved seeing him play live and usually by accident.
Awesome video man !
buckethead is not a robot , He is an Angel
He would have to be human to be a Angel he's not he's a machine chicken God
Machine chicken god.... omg. I'm dying. lololololololol
Angel Monster. Lol
Electric Sea and Electric Tears are both amazing albums.
Padmasana makes me weep & sleep & even meditate, all at the same time
And he doesn't merchandise!
And that's a real shame, I want a shirt or an action figure to put on display.
Ikr
I want a replica bucket but I would never be able to honor it with my guitar skills
Keith Kinkade he does at bucketheadpikes.com
I have a poster of his on my wall, idk if he sells it or not, but yea
Great video, I already loved buckethead but it was nice to watch someone appreciate his art.
6:00 wait ... so that is 1 album every 3 days in 2015 O_O
yep, sleeping and slacking for 71 and a half hours
Yeah. And they all sound the same ( ._.)
@@RedLeg217 Yea, Great!
Producer: so you only can have quality, or quantity, so which one would you like?
Buckethead: both
@@danielmueller7704 not all the pikes are good from the ones I've heard, but they are above mediocre for sure.
I have to check this man out, a real artist! Didn’t think they exist anymore.
Liszt of today.
I got a rubber chicken from him when he opened for Primus... Happiest moment of my life..
Hard to believe he's a robot bc he has such human emotions
I have big respect for this guy, loving music more than anything else, “Look up there”, “Aunt Suzie”, “Soothsayer” and “Hold me forever” are my favorite songs of his, and the fact that he puts all that time and passion into his music makes the music even more enjoyable, love this guy.
He seems like a genuinely good guy!!! I wish the best for him!!!
6:27 i wasn’t ready 😿
Buckethead is a genuine pure genius.
This was very well done. Respect.
I saw this legend live for the first time in Cincinnati last Friday. I loved his music since middle school! It was the most amazing and surreal experiences of my life. It was everything I hoped for and more. I even got a gift! A box of toy cars ;)
How I did not know about this epic musician earlier? So great I am aware of his personality in music world now. Buckethead is amazing one!
Love when he said “other guitarists charge $25” a pic of Lil Wayne appeared... 🤣😂😂😆
“The” Flea? Good video. I’m a new fan of his, thanx for the information!
did not know he won a 'best bassist' contest. thats awesome
i am a fairly new fan. i meani have heard of him for 20 years and i have enjoyed some of his music here and there but im just now going downt he rabbit hole. this man is amazingly talented and humble
Bucket is the man! He isnt like anyone else out there! Id say we need more people like him but then more people would be like him and i only need one buckethead!!
Great video!
Buckethead is the most astounding musician of our era!
Yes!! He is the absolute best! Best musician and human being!

Hold Me Forever is my favourite I think
Why everyone listing the most common songs. What about Celery, Look Up There, Cove, Worms for the Garden... The list goes on and on.
in my 65 yrs on this planet , i never thought a guitar player with a bucket on his head , would be my hero. i was wrong.
wood wire - 64 y/o. Same here, this guy is awesome!
44 here, found him 1 month ago. I thought i knew music. Good stuff
Okay, you sold me. I’m gonna check out this guy’s work a lot closer. I always knew he was very good. But I didn’t know he was more than just another shredder. Thanks for the info.
I love how he doesnt take it seriously but at the same time caring about his fans and quality of music
Бакетхэд - феномен! Великий гитарист со своим видением музыки. Уникальный музыкант - экспериментатор.
I wish i could but I live in Europe, he doesnt go there :/
I love the Captain EO album with songs like Star chasing and Tarantula crossing
The Siphoning Sequence!
Light!
Already after just 50 seconds this makes so much sense. Please continue....
A perfect vid to honor Buckethead!
Thanks!!
Great job!
Thank you! Buckethead is good at getting us through all sorts of stuff. Look forward to hearing from you, Lei Lisa. More content to come.
My end of this video Buckethead released 11 more albums..lol
Buckethead & Eddie Hazel, are two of my favorites when it comes to mastering the guitar..
RIP Eddie Hazel!
The mask is certainly somewhat distancing but if he's happiest and most comfortable in the mask and bucket I wouldn't want it any other way! How can you not love this man.... What a man..what a musician...
This sounds like a really nice talented guy.
