My interpretation
Behind the girl in the pic there are tons of products, mostly makeup and skincare products, and a huge mirror, representing society's expectations on the girl to look "pretty". But then the lyrics say she goes online and gets shit on for every selfie. Or no matter if she's on time, if she's not early then the boss says she's late. Basically telling you that even if you do what you're told, even if you follow trends, nobody tells you that you're enough, you're always lacking something. This makes younger and younger people feel suicidal because they cannot meet these expectations and even at 10 years old, people ask so much of you that it's unbearable.
Then there's the sloth. I think the slot represents ourselves without society's expectations. Even though the girl tries to fit in, in the mirror there's always a sloth. What are slots like? They're "lazy", chubby, awkward, slow, some may say ugly. But most people still find them cute and friendly. So by loving a sloth, by loving how awkward and weird they are, you can slowly love those parts of yourself too.

Being chronically ill, I somehow really love this song and relate in my own specific way. I do not fit anymore and won't ever be able to be at the same pace as others... but I'm worthy of love and trust. I'm worthy of happiness even if to others it looks like I'm just not trying enough and being a lazy sloth.
Great, now even my favorite music group is calling me out.

I've never cried to a song before but as soon as this song ended, my tears came pouring. I escape my overwhelming feelings by listening to music, and I've collected over a thousand songs over 5 years. Out of all the thousands of songs I listen, this is the most relatable. It's sad that I relate to these songs, but it brings me some kind of comfort that makes me live another day. I hope to heal myself, so thank you Mili making this song which brings me some comfort in my journey.

I never post selfies since I am not even on social media.
I feel tired around most people. but I really like some of my friends. Instead os social media its mostly games novels (fantasy) and physics. I don't think physics comes in slot because if there is a physics problem which can be solved Then I have to solve it and I am not able to think of anything else until its done this includes people ,novels, games and study. I love myself and find most people dumb. I really am not sure weather I have a superiority complex or people are really dumb.

Older songs have had themes of witches and knights and fantasy ships carrying angels
this is just very real
I like it
But that older song is also have life lesson that relevant to todays society aswell, such as rosetta, mushrooms, and camelia..its just that they dont have a lyric that as straightforward as this song so they often overlooked..
And the others is not just about knight and fantasy, they also have deep meaning and lesson into it for more specific matter such as red dahlia, bathtub mermaid and galahad and the witch universe's song..
@@hepburnromanization2024 I agree! Themes of abuse and other stuff were shown so well in Camelia in Red Dahlia, and it was so poetic too. Themes of selfishness, stepping on others to get to a higher ranking was portrayed perfectly in Mushrooms. Heck, the entire Scientific Witchery/AI Love universe was a beautifully crafted series of songs. Let's not forget Nine Point Eight, they literally used couplets to make both the first and second verse contrast in the right ways while progressing. I could talk about the beauty of Nine Point Eight for hours. I preferred those more poetic ones over Sloth. I love the melody, but Momo should step up her game and write more poetic lyrics again, I know she's better than this.

Lyrics theory: I don't think Mili is saying that being a sloth is a bad thing. Quite the opposite: she's saying that everyone is always judging us, critiquing us, making us anxious to fit in their tight models of what's good and cool and trendy. Being a sloth just means detaching oneself from all that pressure and loving yourself despite what others might say. After all, even if you can't love yourself because you're failing to meet other people's standards, who wouldn't love a cute sloth?

Thank you for the gorgeous song as always guys!! This one hit me, there’s so many sad truths in here. That second verse too- coming from someone who dealt with depression young, seeing her younger sister also self harm and talk about how lost the world is. That line about the kids really just- wow. And the end part- learning that it’s okay to not truly love yourself, to enjoy being alone but also keeping in mind that you don’t have to change yourself to be loved by others. Honestly, taking that step to say it’s okay to not be okay is the first big step in healing and learning to focus on you. Truly powerful stuff in this song I love it! Thank you for this, your songs always know what my heart needs to hear, it’s why you guys will always be my favourite!

Such a great song, and it's really deep. It mix well with the relaxed vocals and calm instrumental, and fits the sloth theme . But then when the stronger vocals and piano started they had so much emotion!

This song made me think of really vivid memories of some family members saying " Why didn't you put make up on today ? " , "Did you brush your hair today ? " " Your clothes don't match today " "You're pretty so why don't you take care more of yourself ? " and the response is just " I didn't feel like it today " or " hmmm just a lazy day ". Sometimes I want to feel pretty for myself and only for me and then I make an effort but some other days I just feel tired and I don't feel like I need to do anything. I relate to that song so much , even last week I remember someone saying " what if you meet someone you like and you don't look good ? " and I was like " I DON'T CARE GRANDMA , just let me be, okay ?
