I ordered this to use with my Sony KDL-55W900A 3D TV, which I use for PS3/X360/PS2/OG Xbox. I got this and the Beam 2 for my C1 OLED. I wish it had an HDMI arc at least to use it with my Sony with the remote and better sound. I also got a student discount of 15%, which helps with the sting of the price. Fingers crossed that I like it when I get it.
Any difference in sound quality and power with 2 Moves paired in Stereo?
Would you recommend this for desktop use?
Nice review… using beam the sound quality is worth the price. If they add Bluetooth it is very useful
The other sound bars that you mentioned that come with a sub from reputable manufacturers, still don’t have the sound clarity that this Sonos Ray actually has.
It is miles ahead of any television speaker, so there shouldn’t even be a comparison there. Definitely an improvement.
Sonos ray vs Bose tv speaker which one is overall performer for tv.
Hi Aaron, Good Morning! Understand you had reviewed Sonos Beam Gen 2. Does Beam 2 and Ray alone produce the sound loud enough to fill up the living room of a 4rm BTO? Kindly seek your advice, thank you. ☺️
Yes definitely 😁
Great Aaron! Thanks for your advice. 😃
Does it sound better than a Sonos One? Just curious for if/when they add the rumoured Atmos surround feature.
Sounds bigger for sure. Atmos is out of the question because this soundbar does not decode it.
Great info... Thanks for sharing!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Any time!
Sonos: No HDMI and Bluetooth in 2022 at $279 plus tax.
For those who are planning to set Ray as a PC speaker, I can tell you it's a nightmare and all-in-all it felt like a stereo speaker for 300EUR, and if your mobo does not have an SPDIF port, you'll need to buy a soundcard with a TOSLINK/SPIDF out so that's +$58-$115 on top, and the worst part, I would get constant static sounds after 15 minutes while gaming (using the SPIDF module plate, not the best idea) even though all drivers were up-to-date including the USB/Audio fixes, so if you are planning to buy for your gaming rig it's a bad idea, but if you are on a budget for a soundbar for your TV meh! maybe consider something else with the same price range with better/extra features :)
I'm also currently using a soundbar (but much cheaper) as a PC speaker via optical. I also get a slight static noise but it doesn't bother me. I'm planning to switch to a bit more expensive (still sub $100) bar just to see what dolby digital is all about.
im contemplating whether to get a ray or beam for pc speakers. but since both only has optical output, do u think they both will sound the same?
@@battygaming3795 Personally, I'd skip both for a PC setup, I am rockin a Steinberg UR22C and a pair of presonus and quite happy, but planning to test the Beam soon and will share my thoughts too
@@omarthatha thanks for the reply omar, hope to hear from u soon
How much would you want the sound bar to be? With all of its features?
100 bucks less would be ideal
@@aaronloudnwireless that’s about $179… thats a huge drop
@@TemujinScott80 I think that's a good price, the problem it's that the people get used to those big prices for soundboard where before where at those prices for a medium/good soundbar.
People thought that an app elevated the price but the thing is that if they want to push "features" an app is mandate but not should be added to the cost as premium.
@@jfsps15 ok
@@aaronloudnwireless 😂😂😂😂
You're wearing a nice T-shirt!
Thanks!
What does it mean?
@@AK-jt7kh it means "number one" - means , "first", "most" etc. Pronounces "Ichi Ban" in Japanese.
@@H_Y_loves_curry thanks!
I have a perfectly good powered Yamaha sub that I couldn't even sell for $20 no-doubt it's better than this Sonos... 🤔
Actually, yes it does suck and I don't say that with any glee. I really wanted to love this product. I have a full Sonos Arc "5.1.2" system and while the ATMOS is laughable, I LOVE IT! Got the Ray for a bedroom TV, just to see if the bass response would be better than my LG C1 55". The bass is tighter at higher volumes, but the shrill mids and highs are a deal breaker. Plus, the sound-stage on the TV speakers is WAY SUPERIOR. I was really surprised at how bad the Ray sounded. I promptly returned it.
a soundbar without hdmi SUCKS!
No remote control no Bluetooth and no HDMI, you better off buying Bose TV sound bar with less or the same price
