    I will now tell you the most important thing to do when choosing speakers of any kind. GO TO THE BLOODY STORES AND LISTEN. You will never be able to choose the best for you by reading. The absolutle only way to get the best you can, is to listen. And compare.

    • @Eric-Wall
      @Eric-Wall 2 роки тому +1

      @@illogik You go to multiple stores, you test as many as you can, you buy the one that you tested that you like best. If you have no hifi experience you will allmost garanteed not buy the absolute best for your money. But thats ok. As long as you are happy, it is good enough. Over time when you get experience. You will have some idea of what brands suit you the best. And after that, there are no speakers you cant listen to that you are intrested in. If the speakers of intrest aint in the store, you can just ask them and they will bring it in.

    Nice video and a very important topic to me, cheap speakers with poor sound can potentially ruin the gaming experience a bit.
    I keep my G560 2.1 system though it's a bit outdated but the audio quality is still superb when connected to a proper sound chip.
    Personally, I don't like those big bars blocking my desk, I'm using a wall-attached sound bar for my tv set in the living room where it is fine.
    Keep up the good work and greetings from Germany!

    G’Day there,
    I’ve become a bit of a SONOS convert and am very keen to get one specifically for PC Gaming as I really don’t love having headphones on all the time.
    As soon as I gain approval from the Bank of Wife, I’ll be adding one of these to my “study”. Might even accidentally get the wall mount and a couple of extra ONE SL’s to sit behind my desk for that surroundy soundy-vibe. :)

    I am old enough to remember when gamers cared about sound. A creative Audigy card was essential, and I went through multiple PC speaker setups like the Creative Gigaworks and Logitech 5500's. Nowadays that all seems to have gone the same way as optical drives. I haven't owned a sound card, a DVD rewriter or Blu Ray drive or PC speakers for at least a decade.
    I guess better motherboards, fast internet and computer moving into the front room have completely replaced the need for sound cards, optical drives and PC speakers for the most part.

    Does this have an annoying energy saving feature where the soundbar turns itself off or mutes itself if no signal is coming into it for a short period of time?
    I tried a cheaper Vizio 20" soundbar for my computer and I LOVED the sound for the price, but it would 'power down' if no sound came to it, and when sound did come back to it, it would take a second for it to register and hear it. I tried turning the Energy saving off but it didn't help with the Vizio.
    Is that a problem with this speaker?

    I tried this with my system, I had the Panasonic SoundSlayer sound bar which was fine for gaming but my wife and I like to listen to music on my PC and Alexa. The SoundSlayer just wasn't up to the level we wanted for music. We found the Sonos Ray was even worse for both gaming and music, It just didn't have the power we wanted and the lack of inputs (only Wi-Fi and Optical) was unacceptable. I ended up paying a bit more for Polk MagniFi Mini AX Sound Bar and we love it. If you want to go with a sound bar and want better sound than any PC speakers can produce then Polk MagniFi Mini AX Sound Bar is the way to go. I also compared these to the Bose 600 sound bar which was in the same price ranged and the Polk MagniFi Mini AX Sound Bar blew the Bose 600 out of the water it wasn't even close enough to consider the Bose. The Polk MagniFi Mini AX Sound Bar also has a nice verity of input options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI eARC/ARC, optical, and AUX-in.

      Nah its underkill. You should spend as much money on audio as you do visuals. 5.1 surround is preferable and a good set of cans with a DAC/Amp is a must. None of those "gaming headsets" they practically all suck in terms of audio quality and if you need a mic then there are ways to have both. Many people think they dont need good sound but they are usually the people that haven't heard genuinely good audio.

      I disagree with most audiophiles when it comes to gaming. It doesnt sound better. It often just sounds different. Everyone has different ears and interprets audio in their own way. Also a headset needs one cable.
      An audio setup needs a ton. Mine needs 3 power bricks, one USB cable, 8 RCA cables and one headphone cable. And it pulls 200-250W from the wall.

    You dont need to spend a ton on a good audio setup for a PC (not counting the desk). My speakers Dac and Amp cost me about $300 and if my PC had a decent sound card (Using an old dell workstation at the moment, in the process of building my new PC) I could have skipped the DAC. I'd take my setup any day over a sound bar but I guess I'm old school as I also still prefer wired headphones over wireless etc etc.

    For gaming, you need headsets really, yes for communications, but mainly to hear where your enemies are around you. I’ve noticed this more than ever playing Apex, where, let’s face it, the sound can be pretty buggy at times.

    The reason why it sounds overly bassy or muddy is that you have it flat on your desk. Elevate it or mount it on the wall, preferably above your monitor, and it will sound a whole lot better.

    • @mariodroid7
      @mariodroid7 2 роки тому +1

      Nope, I have a sound bar on my desk and I set it at an angle and the difference is barely noticeable. I also have another sound bar wall mounted under my tv and the bass is just bad. Good bass is not easy to find in a sound bar as you need to have real bass drivers that are correctly set to pull air in and push it out.

    If you want to optimize your sound quality, you need a sound card that offers balanced outputs so your audio signal will totally reject magnetic noise. It's also a good idea to power your audio system on an isolated circuit that isn't share with any other systems or devices. Proper grounding is essential.

    • @JaenEngineering
      @JaenEngineering 2 роки тому

      Balanced interconnects are only really necessary if you're in a very noisy environment or have long distances. Also, it's an optical interconnect, it's completely immune to any form of EMI. And you're right about grounding, and the absolute worst thing you could do is put it on an isolated circuit as this would inevitably cause a big old ground loop.

    As soon as you said, "create an account," that made the soundbar a useless non starter. It's a friggin' speaker. It does not require an account, it does not require Internet access, it does not require drivers, or anything else. All it needs is power and an input. Anything beyond that means you need to return it as defective.
