We have very similar paths. I'm also going at this now that I'm in my 40s for the same reasons you did. I have Becker and I'm struggle with the ambiguity of some of the questions.
That's great! It's never too late to do anything! As for the study materials, I don't think there is a perfect one out there, but I'm sure Becker is one of the best as far as I hear from my peers. Roger was great, but I had to Google and Reddit a lot!! :)
Hello sir, i am 24 years old from india and I'm persuading cpa . I thought I'm too late for this but watching ur video and comments on this gave me so much of motivation thanks a ton
Two months is the time it took from passing the first subject to passing the last subject. My first subject was FAR which I took about 2 months, so if you include that, it took me total of 4 months.
This is really great work to motivate Future CPAs, Would be great if you can do some strategic study planning to maximize memorization techniques to remember till exams ,
This is the best video regarding C P A Exam!! We have something in common, English is my second language as well, and I am 40+ also. I studied for one month, still in chapter 1, feeling frustrated… i’m using Becker. My exam day is about five weeks, could you give me some advices? Thank you in advance!
Thank you :) CPA can be even more difficult when English is your second language, but you can do it! I suggest that you move on to the next chapter, or not study chapter by chapter. My first two videos (7 step study method and memorization techniques) may be helpful.
Great videos and congratulations! I just started using your method and I even watch all of Roger’s videos while on the treadmill. Did you have a set number of sections you wanted to get through per week?
Thank you for your comment and question! Roger is great! To answer your question, I cared more about how many hour I watch each day than sections. So, for example, if BEC had total of 20 hours of videos, I tried to watch everything in 5 to 6 days. Just focused on getting thru it as quickly as possible to move on to MCQ's. Hope it answers your question, but let me know if you need any clarifications.
Yes, MCQ's are where you learn all the basics, so spend a lot of time there! I suggest you try the memorization techniques that I shared in my second video when you get to MCQ's :)
Thanks for your questions. I loved FP&A. Thought it would be nice to gain some Controllership experience as well. I'm in the middle of changing my career, so more to come :)
Thank you for your comment! I'm semi-retired, so it probably won't do much to my future career. I did this to finish my career with something I regretted for throughout my career. I can talk a bit about my past career :)
Great video and Congratulation! I have a couple questions to ask: 1. How did you prepare for SIMs? 2. Could you share how you studied for each section specifically? Thank you
Thank you for your comments and questions. For SIM's, I didn't study until I got comfortable with MCQ's. Once you get comfortable with MCQ's, that means you pretty much understood the concept, so you should be able to get many of the SIM's correct, but yes, there are some really difficult ones. I just practiced as many questions as I can. I had Roger as my main review course, and Gleim and Ninja as supplement test banks, so I had sufficient questions to practice. As for how I studied for each section, yes, I'm planning to share that soon. I hope that answered your questions, but please let me know if you have further questions.
I watched all your videos and they are all great and inspiring! The hot chocolate with different flavors that you mentioned really attracts me as a way to reward myself, can I ask what brand or name it is?
Thank you for your comment. I would change the way of studying. If you are spending a lot of time reading textbooks, I would stop that and start watching the lecture videos, if you have one. I have a video on how to make/save time, so that would help you, as well as the very first video which talks about the study method. But please let me know again if you have further questions :)
I usually didn't study after 4pm, except for the last few days before the exam. Because I wake up at 2am, I'm too tired to study in the evening. I studied about 5 to 6 hours per day, mostly in the morning. I recommend taking AICPA sample test after getting comfortable with practice simulation questions, and before mock exam.
How much did you study after power nap? For someone who studies starting at 9am, when should a power nap be recommended? Also when you start at 2am, did you take long breaks between 2am and 12pm?
I usually studied from 2:30am to 6:30am without long breaks, then ate breakfast and took the power nap. After that, I had to work on other things, and studied again from 2pm to 4pm. If you study from 9am, then I think you would be tired by early to mid-afternoon, and that would be an ideal time to take the power nap.
Apparently, that's what I said in the video, but I believe I meant I did the weight training 1 hour / week. If I include exercise bike, it would be a lot more.
Hey Please answer me... I used hit gym every day 1 hr, I felt very tired and sleepy while studying, It was hard to concentrate on subject.... Did you faced any body soarness and sleepy after gym .. How did you managed? How many hrs you were able to study??
Thank you for your questions. I took power nap every day for about 30min which really helped me stay awake and focused. The muscle soreness doesn't bother me, rather I feel good when I have it :) I usually studied 3-5 hours a day, and a bit more right before the exams. Hope it helped, but please let me know if you have further questions.
@@sugarcpaus2091 Thanks for your quick reply, you mentioned you study the material for half a page and write the summary in notes .... if I try to do that I hardly reciprocate 10% in my notes and rest 90% remains in study material... how did you manage this... It feels me I have failed to bring many things important to my notes..
I wasn't able to remember everything either, so I had to write whatever I could memorize, then look at the textbook again, then write again, and did multiple rounds of that to complete my notes. And that's what helps you memorize, because you try hard, it sticks in your brain.
I am 43 years old and have been an almost identical position you have been through. Your presence is very meaningful to me. Thank you so much.
Thank you for your comments! Best of luck!!

@@sugarcpaus2091 thanks a ton! Also, is 3 months from now is enough for FAR? I'm done with 25% of the portion?
Yes, 3 months should be enough. It may be tough if you have a full-time job though, but I do think it is possible.
@@sugarcpaus2091 I am a full time student 😀

what was your exercise schedule? what time of the day was best for exercising?
I usually do it in the morning or after the nap when I'm awake and have the energy to do it.
