I just found his channel today! All throughout COVID I have been DIYing my entire condo! And I use UA-cam for everything! However, I am thrilled to have found a man that thinks like the artist I am.’
I love how you share your frustrations! I always end up doing things the king hard way so it was good to see that sometimes you just get excited and completely miss the “easy” way until it’s too late! I e commented before… keep it real! You make me laugh out loud bc I feel your frustrations and it keeps it relatable and encourages to keep going and see it through!
@@REISSUED i would do the window frame black too - glossy -- but i can understand the hesitation b/c you have that other stain glass window & door way to the right- - where do you stop - hmm. maybe photoshop the window frame black after you do the door frame and see. a bold black window frame can look so modern & clean and set off the view. and yes, you dont need to recover those chairs. maybe later after the room is more filled up w/ a few things and you want to balance it out.. you have a great eye. (i found your channel b/c of that insane faux stained glass - that was shockingly beautiful).
Thank you so much Laura! And yes I agree about the vintage chairs. It’s cool to pick up vintage pieces and see how the colors work together in an unexpected way. Plus, I’d rather not have to recover 6 chairs 😂😭
Very creative. Your perseverance paid off. I don't think I could finish this I am not very artistic or mathematically inclined. None the less you are an inspiration and I now know a new tape - Gaffer. 💖💖🎶🎶
Absolutely genius!! I love your sense of style and the way you show us the ups and downs of your work. You get frustrated often because you're such a perfectionist, but then again that's why your DIYs are such a success. Love your videos, thank you for sharing your experiences with us. Looking forward to your next video!
I do think that the chairs need some attention in order to stand up to the other powerful visuals in the room. Initially, I was thinking reupholster them, but then I thought that would be too much, so maybe just reupholster the backs. Then it occurred to me that it would be very cool if you painted the backs similar to what you did with the leather jackets in one of your other videos. Making each those chairs a piece of art would take the room to a whole new level. It is becoming an amazing space!
Your creativity is so inspiring! Your way of working is very relatable. I love that you share your frustrations and give us suggestions of how you would improve the process next time. I think the subtlety of the colour variations in the rug are perfect. It looks more high end and elegant that way.
looks cool! the amount of sunlight through that window definitely bolsters the look of the rug - you said astroturf but I was thinking about the dappling of trees on a sunny day. I'm so curious how painted rugs feel underfoot once they dry and how they age
Hey Mary! You’re totally right about the look of sunlight through the trees! As for painted rugs… the feeling underfoot isn’t great… but not too much worse than it would be for the carpet tiles before they got painted. Same for jute or other low pile, rough rugs. Wear is decent! I have one that I painted 10 years ago! Looks a little faded now, but if I decide to keep it, I can just touch up the paint.
Love the concept and the finished product. I work with Adobe illustrator to the point that it’s my go-to for anything shape/design related, so my actual methodology might have been different, I do enjoy seeing how others attack a design problem. Also love everything Bauhaus, Abstract Expressionism, cubism, all those related movements. I do enjoy your style and perspective!
Looks great! I think Queenie approves, too 😄 She is adorable (reminds me of a dog I used to have ❤ She lived to age 18!) I'm wondering what you ended up doing with the chairs... I think they look nice as is with the white table.
I've done two floors in contrasting carpet squares, but never thought to cut up the pieces into new shapes. Gah, doing the cuts on the squares to fit the room was tedious enough. Good work!
Thank you for sharing this video with us. :) I was wondering, is that a box cutter you used to cut the carpet? If so, would you advise using this than any type of scissors? Thanks again. :)
Hey there! Yes I used a utility knife for most of my cuts since the rubber backing on the squares was very thick. I’m not sure any scissors I have would have cut through!
Seriously, how to leave a comment is majorly flawed here (not the function of the artist). Ugh. Anyways...love this! Beautiful process of how to create beauty. I have this aching need to glue a backing to this bit still...beautiful!
I was excited when I saw all the geometric shapes and colors in the design, but this one fell flat for me, I was hoping for more of a pop. It's a bit monochromatic for what I think you're capable of. I like the idea tho.
I disagree, this is a very bold pattern. If they pieces were all different strong primary colors, it would have been too much, especially against that checkerboard floor. I appreciate the restraint.
Seriously one of the most creative people on UA-cam! No one does interiors like you do!
Thanks Jo! Hope you’re having a great week!

Queenie….Just like my 3 French Bulldogs. They own the house and we just are there to do the work for them. For them to enjoy.🙂🙂
Mistakes are often a part of the process. You’re being a good role model for what not to do. ❤

amazing! a ton of work , but a very high end look.
the room will look great after door & window frames are painted black!
Thanks Yuna! Glad you like the rug! I was only planning to paint the doors black… do you think the window frame should go black too?

Love the organic vibe of that rug. You have way more patience than I do😂❤️
The rug came out beautiful. Its green- grey shades are subtle. Bravo!
No. Queenie can’t move! Lol! What a CUTE helper!?! ❤
Omg it turned out great! I love it.
I'm personally a fan of how the vintage chairs look right now
Thank you so much Laura! And yes I agree about the vintage chairs. It’s cool to pick up vintage pieces and see how the colors work together in an unexpected way. Plus, I’d rather not have to recover 6 chairs 😂😭
Definitely redo the chairs 🤩

I love you doing your own thing! Hooray! Thanks! ☮️❤️
Thanks for watching Ben! ❤️

Damn Andrew..Woohoo! You have got to be proud of that! Love it so much. Well done you🎉
Thanks man!
Great concept and you solved the issue of what shape to get for the rug. Well done.

Love this guy! Not crazy about the rug. Seems like way too much work for just minor variations of a dull shade. Nice Mom and Dad helped!!

You are very clever and you are LOVED
There's an episode on the hit TV Show Taxi. Where we get to see the living space of the character Jim Ignatowski: a crazy quilt of carpet remnants.

I absolutely agree - so creative - and often that involves problem solving and learning. Thanks for sharing all of it!

I like the duck tape side.
Oh interesting! It does look pretty cool on that side too!
Adding a little red (the complement) to your green will mute the green and provide contrast.
Great idea!
Gorgeous
Complicated process, but it turned out well in the end! Yeah!
Thank you! Just glad it’s done haha 😅
I throughly enjoy watching your vids. Excellent presentation! I love your taste in art & decor.
Love how the rug turned out! ❤

Haha I don’t recommend it 😂😭 But it looks good in the end I think. Thanks so much for watching! ❤️
I love it! Might do something like this at one point :3
Awesome! Let me know how it goes!
Look great
Well done
Stunning
You are awesome!
Live and learn
Fantastic
into how your sweater coordinates with the carpet color and monochromatic design
