The Engineers memorial was not for the builders of the ship, but for the engineers that operated the ship.

Anything to do with the Titanic is fascinating. My husband has a connection with it, his grandfather’s step brother was Errol McGaw, he was a Fireman on the Titanic, like the majority of the crew he went down with the ship.
Please continue to show us more of Southampton and Hampshire.

Greta video. There is a memorial to the musicians onboard about 50 yards from the memorial you ended on.
Would be great to see a full tour of Southampton including the medieval walls, Gods House Tower, the vaults, the Bargate, Tudor house, merchants house and mix it with the modern areas like Ocean Village and Guildhall Square. Then end it with a pint at the Dancing Man which used to be a wool house then a prison.

If you take the Isle of Wight ferry out of Southampton, you'll go right past the Titanic berth as it's next door.

Great video! But, but a few inaccuracies in your video. It wasn't DOCK 4, what you showed was Dock GATE 4. Titanic sailed from berth 44 - The White Star Dock (and yes, there is a memorial just inside the gate!).
The number of deaths on the Titanic was over 1500, not 549. That number was the total from Southampton.
You missed the musicians plaque... It was within spitting distance of the Engineers' memorial!
Also, a bit of trivia regarding the Titanic Engineers memorial. The woman depicted is Goddess Nike and her pose is said to have inspired James Cameron to have Leo and Kate take a similar pose in the iconic scene in the film at the bow of the ship!
With regards to the casino, I agree - it IS a shame, BUT best it still be in use in some shape or form, rather than it be demolished and forgotten about totally!
Thanks for the extra info. I had a bit of tour info on some paper and using that to get around southampton to the different locations. All info was taken off that sheet that was made available by the Titanic museum

hey rob ....i lived in the grapes on and off between 1986 and 1988 ....the main bar counter is listed but most of bar interior changed in late 80s early 90s ,

The map I got from the council building wasn't the best with directions and locations.

Great video but I'm confused by the 549 people you mention that died. Over 1500 people died.

(but Cal, Rose's fiance, is hopeless for me) and Kate Winslet in this film is beautiful, feminine, with feminine curves, and such beautiful porcelain skin and big lips... and a beautiful name " Rose" in Polish "Róża",( my favorite roses are white )... nowadays most women are too skinny, sunburned too much, artificially bleee, nasty... in the old days it was a wonderful ideal of female beauty... and Rose's hair, wonderful, dark red-mahogany-cherry, (I wanted to dye my hair like that when i was underage, but my dad didnt let me), my natural color is medium chestnut, but currently i like to dye my hair black ;))
