C-3PO did that??
So apt
Ouuuuuummm, Shai-Hulud
I'll give my tears of joy to the Maker to finish it
Not only is this being made by a great director, but a great director who LOVES and understands the book.
Bless the Maker and his Water
Almost nobody understands the books. They follow along with the events in the pages, accurately, but it's a lot like the Bible in that sense. If you actually comprehend it, it very quickly becomes very obviously nonsensical. And not in any kind of amazing or insightful kind of way, it just becomes intolerably ridiculous. Dune has a lot of things to keep track of, and if you can't follow, it's very boring and confusing. But, if you try to actually put anything together out of all of it, even being internally consistent with the world, nothing actually fits. For example, the entire Imperial plot against House Atreides...completely stupid. I'd say if Shaddam were that incompetent, he would quickly be deposed, but the fact is...he DOES get deposed. So...there's that. Had Shaddam had even a dog's level of intellect, he'd have been the one to offer up one of his daughters to Paul, on the condition that, upon their marriage, he takes the Corrino name and lives on Kaitain from that time forward. Shaddam ties himself to the Atreides' popularity, gets a potential hostage, gets a worthy heir, and solves his problem of only having daughters. Leto ties his bloodline to the Corrino bloodline forever, gains Imperial favor the safety of it, and the two have an amicable standoff for the rest of Shaddam's life. But, Shaddam is a moron, so that's not what we get.
.
But, there are still aspects I enjoy (of Dune, not the Bible...the Bible is total trash), and I can appreciate Dune for what it is, in spite of its many serious flaws. Frankly, Villenueve's presentation here is notably better than the book. Still a lot of the key flaws, but considerably smoothed out and refined.
I hope he makes all of them🙌
@@DoremiFasolatido1979 What an entirely pretentious post. Not to mention Shaddam is an envious person and what you are suggesting is basically giving up without a fight. If he proposed a political marriage to House Atredies it wouldn’t make any sense since they were threatening Emperor’s position with their military strenght and their popularity in the Landsdraad. Seriously, I can’t believe you have typed shit load of nonsense in multiple paragraphs and thought you were actually sensible and coherent.
In today's climate it's a rarity to find creatives that respect and admire the source material and not inject agenda. I'm so glad there's actually a big budget film bucking the trend and trying give audiences mature cinematic experiences.
Villeneuve said Part 1 was the "appetizer" and the "main course" is supposed to be Part 2. Let that sink in for a second, and try to imagine how insane this 2nd movie is going to be.
I'm still trying to figure out what approach they are taking with the film. I'm not sure if I want that to sink in.
Let’s also hope DUNE sweeps hard at the Oscars. If it does WB will give Villaneuve ALL the money he needs to perfect his vision.
I’m a Dune noob, never read the books and never watched any of the previous adaptations, and I fucking loved this film. I’ve been getting balls deep into the lore (avoiding spoilers for Part Two), but man is this an amazing sci-fi world. Will definitely read the books after Part Two comes out.
same here
I can only recommend to already read the books. They are so great!
same the movie was amazing i had to watch it twice it was great
The second viewing was even better than the first for me, I honestly think this is my favorite movie from the last 5 years.
Bless the filmmaker and his movies
Bless the filming and the screening of them
🤣🤣🤣
Bi'lal Kaifa !!
Nice!!!
Bi-la kaifa.
I'm so relieved Part 1 was well received. I'm honestly surprised just how good it's done, but I couldn't be happier.
Yeah. After Blade Runner 2049 did poorly at the box office, I was afraid that was an indication that the smarter the film, the less people would want to see it.
@@FosterZygote Feels like the best chance was done to give non book readers a chance too enjoy the material. I do see a lot of comments of people enjoying it despite never reading the book. In that case, I'm glad they went in the direction of cutting what they chose to cut to make that happen. And a 2 hour and 30 minute film was probably already daunting to an average movie goer, so I'm glad it was well received.
@@FosterZygote Denis has a tendency to make large ass films time wise
@@FosterZygote I had the.same worry. I personally thought Blade Runner was a fantastic movie and worried Dune would suffer a similar fate. Seems like the movies I enjoy the most seem to be bombs.
I think a lot of us learnt our lesson with Blade Runner 2049. I HATE movie theatres, but if that's all studios recognize as success, I better go see the movies I want made.
When one has lived with prophecy for so long, the moment of revelation is a shock!
That line from the film and the book really is appropriate for this news :)
Facts!
😂 👍
Seen the film four times now. That line always hits hard.
@@chrismullins8061 Who says that line, was it Jessica? What is the line talking about? (I've only seen it once so far, but will go again soon.)
@@AbcDef-ww2gy Shadout Mapes, house maid to Jessica on Dune
When Leto looks at Jessica and says, “I thought we had more time.” I almost got moist eyes. I don’t think I have ever been so pumped for a film and expectations can make one not appreciate a good thing. I am very happy. The only thing that could please me more would be if there was a 4 hour cut out there to be released or sold later.
This is a huge relief for me. I was getting a little worried that the studio wasn't going to let it happen and the masterpiece would remain unfinished.
Given the budget and work that went into part one, I would have been SHOCKED if they didn't do part two. The movie would have to be a complete flop for them to let it die.

I’m really hoping for Dune Messiah too! But one film at a time I guess.
@@Cyromantik I read an article a while back from someone who saw an advance screening. The version that person saw ended after the Lady Jessica went through the spice agony ritual. So they’ve got SOME stuff filmed but nowhere near enough

Quinn: "Can you imagine if we only got part one?!"
"Alita: Battle Angel" Fans: "Yeah, I can imagine."
Look at Quinn, his smile, his optimism, makes this an even better announcement to hear.
I wonder how much footage Denis has already shot via the visions. I cannot wait! Bring on Alia, the Feydakin, The Emperor, Princess Irulan, and Feyd Rautha!
Alia and Stilgar are my favorites, not enough of him in this movie can't wait for Part 2!
Hopefully the Fenring’s too!
I can’t wait to see how they handle Alia!
I am really hoping for Fenring and Margot
@@dennisnordlund902 Alia will be interesting for sure. I’m curious if they have a longer time jump so they can cast an older actress than Alia is in the book. I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to find a 3 or 4 year old who can handle the role of Alia.

I've had them on repeat for the past week.
Can't wait for part two!
The Coriolis Storm scene was so good and I felt like the metal and glass sounds in the cockpit were almost timed with the music to act as extra percussion. That would blow my mind if that was intentional.
I sincerely believe your passion and insightful commentary on this beautiful masterpiece has made many others show interest for the film.
Blessings and honour from Cameroon, Africa.
I was prepared to be disappointed. Now I feel elated. Over the last 3 months I have become a huge Dune fan. The second half of the book is so incredibly epic. I have no doubts Denis will do it justice.
Right there with ya!
The biggest tragedy will be if the Dune 2 actually comes out but it’s not good.
I’m excited to see how Part Two handles Feyd-Rautha and Shaddam IV.
It would have been an honest shame if part two didn't get greenlit. It's where the plot actually gets going and the action ramps up. The endgame is insanely satisfying. For the intrigue set up in part one, it deserves it's epic payoff.
@@ares106 whether it's good or not it's subjective. But what's evident from this director is he is a competent film maker. Part 2 is guaranteed to be a technically well made film
I was convinced a movie this brilliant wouldn't do well enough to convince WB to do a sequel, I've never been happier to be proven wrong! So happy for Denis!
I'm so glad that someone so competent, passionate is behind this project.
It could have been just another mess like Foundation or Invasion.
Foundation was the biggest disappointment!

I'm really getting into it and it's all thanks to Quinn.🙌
I went qith my partner and we got 4 tickets, 2 free spaces on the side for our popcorn ;)
Quinn would play the guild navigator whose eye contact fell out durning the battle of arrakeen at the end of the book! Hahaha
I think he could be the padasha emperor. It's a more minor role in one book. Quinn would kill it with passion alone.
Maybe a petition to WB? After their apology for striking his content?
Even just a lowkey cameo as a Fedaykin would be sick, would love to see that
Dune: Part Two was officially announced with a release date of October 20, 2023.

What!????? Yes!!!!!!
Just wanted to say man, was interested in the Dune universe but never really checked it out, since the new movie dropped I really got excited to find out more about the universe. I've been watching many of your videos and I have really, really enjoyed the way you explain things, the knowledge you have and especially love how enthusiastic you are about it. Really appreciate the content man!
As always, Thanks Quinn for bringing us the good news. My son and I went to the theater last Friday to see Dune on the big screen, then I watched it on HBO Max the next day. As I wrote before, I have read each and every Dune story within a week or so of them being published and a few years later reread them all again. By far, Villeneuve’s production was the best interpretation and captured the essence for Hubert’s vision. I hope it doesn’t take too long to make part 2. I’d like to be sure I have the opportunity to see the next chapter. And then Dune Messiah? Wow.
Your channel introduced me to the Dune-verse, and I couldn't be happier that you're hyped about this news! The devotion and enthusiasm of the Dune Fandom is inspiring! \o/
I truly believe that the Dune fans out there had a major impact on the outcome of the movie's success. All around the internet, Dune fans were pushing for this movie to be watched HARD. When people talk about grassroots movements, they're referring to efforts like the one that Dune fans have been on for years. Amazing what word of mouth can do.
Trilogy incoming! And I'm all for it!😀
Hurray!! Never really heard of dune before seeing it in IMAX so wasn’t expecting much from it. Turned out to be one of the best films I’ve ever seen. Been binge watching lore videos ever since glad to hear a part 2 will get underway I imagine it’ll be even better! Even happier for the long term fans who have been waiting for something like this for ages :)
I’m in the exact same boat as you. Never heard of it and went to see it in the movies the day it came out, now I’m learning AS MUCH as I possibly can!
I didn’t see it in Imax, but in Dolby Atmos. And my oh my, that experience was masterful. How was it for you in IMAX?
@@fortis17 masterful is a pretty good way to put it. It was so engaging, I was leaning forward for most of the movie with a massive grin on my face. Soaking in the combination of the mesmerising cinematography and the amazing score by zimmer, which as you know was thunderous! I don’t think it’s quite my favourite film I’ve ever watched, not yet anyway haha, but it was probably the best “cinematic experience” I’ve ever had if that makes sense. Truly a film made for the big screen
This guy and Nerd Cookies are really good at Dune lore vids.
@Skelley-Priest I almost definitely will between now and Oct 2023
Saw it today and it was the first time in a long time I was able to get lost in a sci fi film without a bunch of pew pew and zip zap going on. It captured the epic so well, it is very rewatchable.
I finally had a chance to see the movie today, and *it blew me out of the water* - it was even better and more beautiful than I could have hoped. The Dune series has been taking up headspace since I first read the novel at age 11, and Denis Villeneuve has created a movie that took my best imaginings and made them all ten times better. I'm sooooo excited to know that the sequel is locked in! I can't wait!
And Quinn, you can be my Dune cult leader any day of the week. 😉
Dude thank you so much for getting me into this series. I read the book this year and wow. I love it.
Atreides!! Atreides! Atreides!

I read the Dune series up until the Heretics last July during my bread from studies. Saw Dune Friday afternoon ( the 22nd of October) . I’ll definitely be following Quinn in excitement over the Dune Part two!
Idaho! Idaho! Idaho! 😉
ATREIDES!!
Dude... Harkonnen. Atreides are the weenies of the desert.
I saw this in IMAX on the night it came out. Damn, it was so good. When we first saw Arrakis and got all the fly overs I cried a little. It was so overwhelming to FINALLY see an adaptation that really captured the spirit of the book. I'm already hype for part 2.
I saw it in an RPX theater and when Paul pushes through the pain box and gives a defying look, the music just pushed me into a new realm!
I got a little misty eyed when Paul kills Jamis.
I love how the elation in Quinn's voice is palpable. I can hear you shaking with excitement. I absolutely love your passion for this series!
I could have honestly sat through a 3½ hours movie on the first go, and I still watched it twice in a day. Every part of this story was nuanced and impactful.
This makes me so happy and eases my mind knowing we'll get the complete story of Dune. I just hope I live long enough to see it in IMAX again. Came home at 1am and watched it again immediately. So damn good! Please, everyone, support this film!

I'm not a sci-fi fan as a whole (although I loved Star Wars), but I've really been captivated by Dune (having had no knowledge of the story) and I'm super excited about part 2 and I'm glad I've found your channel!
I just watched Dune part one yesterday in fact, I am so relieved to hear that they’re making the second part!
This channel was the reason that I gave Sci-fi another shot (I read the first Sci-fi in 10 years: Solaris by Lem) and I am so glad that I did. Thank you Quinn!
Did you like it? I applaud the idea, but not the execution. Lem doesnt write in the manner Slavic authors usually write, which is obviously not a valod critique, just threw me out of it a bit. What I didnt love was how the book was made intentionally boring by adding all those pages of describtion of the ocean and effects that happen in it. It was supposed to be tedious, to show us how much humans studied this ocean while gaining literally zero understanding of it, I get why it was there, but it was nevertheless tedious. Also it felt like the ending didnt go anywhere, really... I kinda liked it, but kinda didnt.
@@amf1435 I read Lem's Solaris too! A year ago. And I totally agree with your opinion on that book. It would have been better if he would have left those parts (where he was describing the planet and the ocean) out. I'm not a scientist, so I didn't understand most of that stuff he was talking about. I liked his philosophical thougths like "what does it mean to be human or what does it mean to be alive?" but compared to other authors like Frank Herbert, Lem can't create suspense or tension in this story, which made it a little boring for me. But it's definitvely worth a read! Ah yea, before I read Solaris, I read 2001: A space odysee by Arthur C. Clarke and this (in my opinion) is also like Dune, absolutely amazing! I liked it even more than the Stanley Kubrick movie.
@@amf1435 Hm, sorry, I thought I had written an answer yesterday! It was kind of long but youtube probably swallowed it. So here an abridged version:
I loved it a lot, I really liked the part about Solaris and its science because I was desperate for an answer about the visitors. However, it did not lend itself to an easy answer which was probably the point. In a way, I read those like I read magazines or books about subjects I have no clue about: Somewhat interested but not really knowledgeable. I liked them well enough! The personal mystery with his visitors and the visitors of the others also intrigued me enough to keep me somewhat suspended, but the book isn't really full of suspense. I do not mind, suspense is not required for me to enjoy a story if it has different things going for it.
When it comes to closure, I think I need to be content with what Kelvin got. In that, I feel a bit empty but also elated about the strange things I have read and witnessed. Only a fraction to what he must have felt I imagine.
Lots of the study of Solaris I read as a fable or allegory about real life phenomena we have a myriad of explanations that really all don't capture the thing itself in its entirety. In that, I felt satisfied with the book. I can, however, see why it might feel tedious to read :D
@@dires I think I expected different things from the book than it had to offer. I would be OK with high sci-fi concept of an intelligent ocean and how it eludes human understanding and I would enjoy a deeply human story about loss of someone very precious and how regaining them would affect the person's perception of that person, themselves and world in general. This felt like a bit of both of those, but not developed well to some conclusion. Strange book. I liked Cyberiad by him a bit more.
As a hard to please fan i must admit....i was blown away....i went in with an open mind and it exceeded my expectations.
Same. There's plenty to pick on (why did they not do the dinner scene!! they should start part 2 with Paul flashing back to it) but every Dune fan knows this book is RIDICULOUSLY hard to put on film, even harder that LOTR, so the fact that it was this well done, and that most of the changes ranged from fine to actually good (as far as book-to-movie adaptations go) is just so satisfying.
But Part 1 DEFINITELY hinged on Part 2 existing so this announcement this early is HUGE.
I'll be surprised if they bother with the dinner scene. Seeing how Yueh and the betrayal portion of the story was even further shortened in the new movie.
“A beginning is the time for taking the most delicate care that the balances are correct."

Thank you, Quinn, for taking us on this journey. Thanks for all your work. This is amazing.
Hope Jason Momoa is already receiving feelers about reprising his role as Duncan Idaho for adaptations of the later books.
He knocked it out of the park in Part 1. Jason genuinely elevated the character.
This surprised me...and I actually agree.
Duncan wasn't even a character in Lynch's Dune and he didnt even use a sword. Jason truly unlocked the martial arts based combat that this story is about. No more shouting at guns lol
@@DevilJin01 ^^^^^^^^
Absolutely this. It was nonsensical in the books why the Sardaukar wanted to take Duncan’s body to Ix.
But that final stand in Part One hammered home why the Sardaukar wanted Duncan Idaho gholas.
It was the first time he came across as a real actor for me
Jason Momoa gave Duncan the respect he deserve!
I knew this movie was gonna be a masterpiece, your channel played a part in this. Think of how many people you convinced to go see it. Quinns Ideas played a part in Dune history. That's just awesome.

Sounds like Denis is confirmed to direct again too. Hopefully they get Hans Zimmer to come back for part 2 as well
You know he will. Zimmer turned down other movies to do this one.
His music helped the movie, I hope again he will grace us with his skill again.

This feels like how I felt when I saw Fellowship of the Rings, knowing there was more coming. This is awesome!! Love it! Can't wait for Part 2, and hopefully Dune Messiah.
Yep! I’ve always been into Fantasy/Sci-Fi and I have sadly never read any of the Dune books or seen the older movies. I went and saw this new Dune movie by Denis the day it came out in America on Friday, October 22nd and although it was slow, I LOVED it! I really enjoyed the world building of this universe and getting to know everything this movie had to offer! I’ve since been learning as MUCH as possible about the lore of Dune and my Dad is going to let me borrow the books from him. I’m super excited to read these books and am even more excited for part 2! I hope that they make more than just 2 movies though, I hope that Denis makes movies for all of the books and the Dune Saga becomes the next “Lord of the Rings” or “Star Wars” or “Game of Thrones” or “Star Trek” obviously I know it’s different from ALL of these and actually ended up being the inspiration for some of these IP’s I mentioned previously. So I hope that it becomes a big property and Denis is able to show ALL of these books love with proper movies for all of them! Even if each book needs 2 movies or just the first book requires 2. Hell, the more movies in that world that add to this story and help bring the books to life the better in my personal opinion! I believe that Denis actually does care about this property and if allowed to make movies for all of the books he would ABSOLUTELY do them justice!
@@blainejackson2857 Word of warning for the first book. The first 60 or so pages, a TON of political theory exposition. And I do mean, a TON. It can be a test to get through, but after that, the story and theme is great. There are times later that the books go back to it, in smaller doses, but it does happen sometimes. Power through it, it's worth it.
I would be ecstatic if they got through Dune Messiah! I know that there's likely no way they would ever go through the whole series, but I'd love it if they could at least make it through Children of Dune.

Not only am I happy Dune: Part Two is being made, I’m also very happy for Denis Villeneuve. He is extremely passionate about Dune and I can’t imagine how he feels right now.
One thing I really don’t want to happen is for Dune to become a franchise full with spin offs and tv shows. I like the idea of a Dune trilogy and the Bene Gesserit series, but dear WB, don’t turn this into a franchise.
Why not? If they do it well, the spin offs and series can be very good.
@@benjalucian1515
That's the key word though, "if" they do it well.
I don't think I'm alone in having low confidence in modern media. Dennis V. feels like the only person in Hollywood who could have done this series justice, and if they make it a multimedia franchise you'll start to see less capable directors make crappy adaptations.
Well, for now I'm super stoked to see where this goes.
I don't know what you're expecting? Paul and Chani are in fortnite... They're turning it into a franchise.
@@augustday9483 - Disney is doing great with such spinoffs as the Mandalorian, and I look forward to what they're going to do with Kenobi and Cassian spin off series. So making high quality spinoffs are possible.
@@augustday9483
Exactly.
Right now, I'm just interested in the first book being adapted well (Part One and Part Two). I don't know if I'm all that stoked for Denis Villeneuve doing more Dune adaptations, because I've already seen what happens when a great film Director is made to work too much with a given series/franchise; they get burnt out and the resulting product becomes much more superficial with none of the love and care that went into the earlier movie(s).
A good example would be Peter Jackson's take on the Lord of the Rings. Love it or hate it, you can't deny that a lot of love and care went into crafting the LoTR trilogy.
When it came time to do the Hobbit, it was quite palpatable that it was more like "a job" Jackson had to pull, rather than a project he had enough passion for to make it capable of standing on its own, with the result that it was an empty spectacle: Pretty looking, but lacking in uniqueness and substance. I am speaking for myself, of course, but it felt like a half-hearted retread of the older LoTR trilogy, with some minor stand-out performances and characterizations.
My point is that I don't want to see Denis Villeneuve suffer from creative burnout and then end up creating an unsatisfactory adaptation of Dune: Messiah, because that'd be disappointing for both him and fans of his earlier (read: current and older) work. If he's going to tackle more dune adaptations after Dune Part Two, let it be after a good, long break and leave it at Messiah.
We can hope that Denis inspires other creative people in Hollywood with a similar love of Dune, to attempt adaptations of some of the other novels, but I'm expecting to be disappointed in that regard.
I'm excited about this news too, but there's something so infectious about hearing a megafan like Quinn beaming with hype, I love it!
Channels like yours got me into Dune. The studio needs to thank guys like you for intruducing people to this incredible universe that frank Herbert built and Dennis brought to life!

I love you and your excitement about Dune. It’s contagious! Thank you!!
Dune: Messiah would be a tough one to adapt, the long Hayte/Duncan monologues, Muad'Dib's monologues, I'm all for that though ! Face Dancers can be trippy, the Stone Burners would be an incredible scene ! Imagine that on freakin' Imax with Villeneuve's visual talent.
Oboy
It seems like they were careful in making part 1 to not show too much cgi heavy stuff like what would be necessary for folding space. I’m not so sure if there’s an elegant way to show Scytale though
It appears that WB is very interested in making this a huge cinematic franchise. They wouldn't even consider the Bene Gesserit series if they didn't intend on this being a decade spanning saga.
I personally think we will see the entire Dune saga adapted, including Hunters and Sandworms of Dune, and I also believe there will be more than just the Bene Gesserit spin off. Villenueve might direct Messiah, but I have feeling that after Messiah other directors will be pulled in and Villenueve will become the Favreau of the Dune saga. I don't think Villenueve wants to be trapped directing Dune movies for the rest of his life, he already has other projects lined up.
didn't we see Stone Burners in this movie drilling threw shields on the big ships? At least that was what I was thinking they were. But yeah that scene is intense. Plus more insight into BG and the Tleilaxu
Better as a streaming series I think.
Not to mention Princess Irulan having an entire character arc off-screen will probably not work on film--they'll probably have to add a bunch to give her a bigger role.

Hey I'm so delighted not just for the fans but someone extremely passionate about the universe like you. I believe that you made a huge difference and I think we wouldn't have a part two without you or the chances would have been smaller. Keep doing what you are doing! Take care!
Your channel is by far my most favourite entertainment and sci-fi channel. Thanks for your amazing work and I am looking forward to see more!
We all knew this was coming, the movie is a banger. Right there with ya quinn.
Don't stop the content my dude, it's your time to shine! Take us with you on this awesome ride to the top!
So relieved! Thanks Quinn, I feel like I've shared my Dune journey with you, as my wise guide helping me to appreciate this story fully. So glad we're getting part 2!
Excellent news Quinn! Long time fan, especially during COVID, and jazzed to know you are kicking ass in late 2021. Word!
Quinn, Quinn... the sleeper has awakened!!!!!!
That's not even in the movie
I guess they forgot to add that long with his mom being the barons daughter
@@blahblah3672 I think we need to stay calm and have confidence in Denis and his vision. Some decisions in the order of events can help the development of the film.
That's what my boss told me he said there's probably room in the second one to reveal some of the stuff he left out, I was alittle annoyed with some of the conversations he left out of the movie and the Jamis fight was way too short
But your probably right I will be still and trust Denis
Yay!!! Can't wait! Loved the first one!
Thank you so much for this channel. As a new fan of the series your passion and knowledge have helped me dive deeply into this epic Sci-Fi adventure. These videos both ignited my curiosity for the Dune Saga and also helped prepare me for the release of Denis Villeneuve's masterpiece film. Keep up the great work and I'll keep following and enjoying your content my friend.
I’m new to binging these videos, 8 hours into the Dune audiobook, and I’m honestly glad i didn’t catch Dune till just recently. 24 years old and never even heard of it before this year. It was awesome to sit in a theatre (DBox seats for the first time) and just be completely immersed into a whole new world with no influence on what the world should have looked like. I came out of Dune telling my buddies I’m more sold on this universe than I ever was on Star Wars, and I’ve grown up a fairly big SW fan. But I’m completely sold and waiting with baited breath for part two!
So Happy for you and the rest of fans. Your Dune vids got me back into the books and sci-fi in general. Keep up the amazing work, you're making a good impact :^)
I’m a new fan of Dune and absolutely will be reading the book once I finish Hyperion. It’s so great to see you so excited and entertained with the Dune franchise Quinn! Your passion is undeniable and I really enjoy your videos man 😆🙏
Hyperion is among the greats as well, in my opinion. Simmons' storytelling and imagery are superb.
@@shannonmanning6166 It’s really fantastic. I’m reading the poet’s story at the moment. I feel very submersed in the world!
The Hyperion Cantos was quite fascinating. I was both amused and disgusted by the Pax. One scene almost made me physically sick, which has never happened before. It is a tribute to his storytelling.
Quinn I want to thank you for being one of the influences that got me to read dune about a year ago. I feel like I've been a fan of my whole life but I only finished the book a short time ago in my life. I feel like the 1st part I was able to enjoy so much more, being able to reference back to all of the source material from that 1st novel. Again thank you for being one of the inspirations for me to read the book.
Thank you for all the great work you do!
It's so heartwarming seeing you so passionate about dune
I am so glad that this Dune saga will get the concluding part.
Your passion is contagious:) I've only discovered Dune. Watched it twice, reading the first book and watching a lot of your videos. I'm all in on this. All in!
I am so happy to hear your excitement! It’s contagious! Super excited for what’s to come and to experience this journey through Denis’ vision and YOURS!
The last time I was so happy was when Fremen ambushed the Harkonnen's space harvesting.
I wish I could have participated in the live chat... I'm thrilled Part Two is happening! I can't describe the emotion I experienced watching Dune. I was stunned the first time I watched it. I was in tears the second time. I think, in part, it's because Dune was one of my father's favorite books and I had hoped I would be able to experience this film with him. Sadly, he unexpectedly passed away at the beginning of September. He was the reason I fell in love with Frank Herbert's epic. I think he would have loved this adaptation. I do truly believe I've rediscovered my favorite film of all time. Thank you, Quinn, for your channel. Among my friends, I'm alone in my love of the Dune Saga so your channel has been a revelation for me to experience it with people who are like minded. I wish I had found your channel long ago, but I'm thankful I did...
F!
I hope your father gets to have a drink with Frank himself.
So sorry for your loss ❤️
Sorry for your loss.
I'll think of your Dad sitting at the dinner party sitting at the table and having some spice beer with Gurney.
Your channel has exploded since i subd. Im happy for you, you're videos have gotten better with time. GoTs brought me here, Dune kept me here. I always look at what you're saying, you're a top notch Dune master!
Awww, Quinn! Seeing you happy is like the cutest otter video!
It is the will of Shai-Hulud. This makes me so happy. Love your passion, Quinn. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
Yay! This is good news! Btw, I always hit like immediately and then at the end of the video I get sad that I cannot like it again. 😀
Same!!!!
12k views and 10k likes in 4 hours. Good job! I remember watching your long dune videos introducing me to Dune. Part 2 is so in part of your videos and introducing so many people into Dune. I only watched part 1 because for you.
Will Poulter would have been my choice for Feyd, but he's Adam Warlock now in Guardians of The Galaxy 3. Charles Dance as the Emperor, or would that be type casting (basically Tywin from GOT but in charge of everything)? Maybe Mads Mikkelsen (I think he was a popular choice to).
Also, if part 2 doesn't get enough residuals for sequel films, they could always adapt the sequel books as a high budget TV sequel series to the two films. TV can be still ambitious after all.
I think Mads Mikkelsen would be a great choice - granted, I did see a fan-made picture of him as the Emperor and it convinced me.
The emperor is young looking for his age, I think someone in their 40s or 50s will end up being chosen
People have suggested everyone from Domhnall Gleeson to Mads. I'm really not sure who it should be
Christian Bale could be a good Feyd, assuming age is not an obstacle.
I imagined Madds Mikelsen as the Emperor and Ana Taylor Joy as Princess Irulan!
@@Dracobyte Great choices !
Fingers crossed for an adaptation of God Emperor!
Duuuude
Wants to see those hot fish speakers
Your dedication to hyping up this series and this movie in particular is really quite amazing. You definitely had a real impact on the success of this film.
Hi Quinn, I'm a new DUNE fan, I was a fan of the original movie from the 80s but since the new movie I've become very interested in the story / lore and your youtube videos have really helped me understand the story a lot more, I've now got the dune tv series and children of dune and yesterday bought the comics house atreides which im looking forward to reading tonight. the new news for part 2 is incredible and not to far away! so just a saying hi and saying great videos. thanks
Absolutely love your passion! You've single-handly made me go out the buy the books!
I was blown away by the acting, the story and the cinematography. It surpassed my expectations 10 fold. Best movie I’ve seen in years.
The film was great, the visuals were really stunning, but in my opinion the movie was way too loud sometimes (cinmeas often do this, idk why)
@@foty8679 I watched it at home and turned the subtitles on so my neighbors didn’t call the cops. Haha
Same experience for me - blew me away.
Now that they got part two confirmed I think its time they re-release the Frank 6 in hardcover
I just noticed in the background you have got the dune board game. I’m hunting that game for a while now but with no luck in my country. I wish I could play a round with you. :D
You have so much dune knowledge. You’ve helped me understand so many concepts from the books!
I’m grateful :)
Right on!!! I knew you’d be the first to announce the sequel…thanks for all your work and dedication!!
I've actually seen Dune 3 times to make this happend!(First time with my friends, a second time with my mum and the third one with my dad). This is the first time I've done something like this. And I've actually really enjoyed even the second time. Understandably wouldn't want to watch it for the forth time any time soon, but I'm eagerly waiting for the next installment in this (hopefully) trilogy.
What a great time to be a Dune fan!
Now that we have a franchise the sleepers will awaken!
Hey Quinn, found your channel out of how stoked I was after seeing Dune. Love your style and demeanor. Subbed and liked. Thank you!
Quinn, you just made my day! Thank you!
