    My experience w/ medication: AVOID the people prescribing this medication as they really have no idea how it affects you! I have been subject to several dosage changes and every time I feel worse within three days. Currently can not live an active everyday life because I am on my back all day. Also being ignored is the sinus condition I have dealt with for decades and this medicine seems to make the drainage worse. I question doctors and nurses, they are quoting what the drug salespeople tell them, not reality!

    • @rcrai4705
      @rcrai4705 Рік тому +4

      Adding to my original: I am being prescribed the medicine through the VA. No two doctors or PN agree w/ the dosage and the people at the ER I recently went to (side effects of the med) did not agree w/ the dosage. Last I heard I was cut down to 12.5 mg (half the standard 25 mg tablet). They had sent me four vials w/o my asking for refill a few months back on top of two unopen vials I had. Just received new refill in the mill I did not ask for as the doctor did not want me to have to cut pills in two, better to have right dose never mind the cost to taxpayer ( my words).
      They sent 50 mg tablets...
      Called the VA, which was shutting down for weekend, and told to throw these away as they were from a prescription placed a week ago. Wrong!
      So the medical problem w/ this drug is that no two doctors I have encountered in the last year (been on the drug for three) agree on dosage. And I am not taking a chance based upon what is said on the innernet!

    To the people in the comments sharing antidotal evidence that they feel their cannabis use hasn’t interacted with their beta blocker…so what?
    It’s irresponsible and can do harm to minimize a potential safety issue for some.
    Not everyone has the same response to a drug…not everyone has the same reaction to a drug.
    Just because one person didn’t have a side effect doesn’t mean another person won’t.
    I work in the industry and not even pharmaceutical companies (who are financially incentivized to minimize safety) espouse such things as “ some people didn’t have a side effect”
    We can all strive to be as truthful and not misleading as pharmaceutical companies… At least I would hope
    Let the science stand for itself: some people will experience an interaction when using cannabis and a beta blocker. Period.
    Side note: it’s the cannabis users who seem to be sounding off. I haven’t seen anyone in the comment section debating that they are on an SSRI and a beta blocker with no issue. Hmm?? We can ponder what’s behind that….

His neurologist said to ask his heart dr if he could go on a lower dose of Metoprolol because of him having dizziness ,he is on 25 mg and he also has Parkinson's,will be 2 years come December. The Nurse Practioner said today9-20-2023 to stop the Metoprolol !! Now tonight, I am worried that maybe he should be weaned off ,not just taken off so fast!! Not sure if I should increase the dosage to 50 mg daily or go back to the doctor to get different medications. My current blood pressure is around 150/ 95

    Does anyone feel like a cool heartless zombie taking this drug? I personally hate it. When it wears off I get emotional but having a suppressed heart rate all the time I could be in a stressful situation and just be chill. If I over exercise I can't sleep because my heart rate goes thru the roof hours after.
    They aren't specific about how cannibis is consumed. Is edible worse than inhaling. I would think a heart patient wouldn't want to smoke anyway but edibles have a very different effect depending on the person. With some it can be overwhelming and with others they don't metabolize it allowing one to eat gummies like its candy.
