    Very good video. I was on several things, but Lithium Carbonate only works in high toxic doses - which made me worse and worse. I am researching a much healthier road. Message me if you wish to chat about that. I will be trying lithium orotate soon, and all natural "drugs" for depression.

      ive just started lithium orotate...I hope u also went well on it...Its kinder on kidney function....I listened to Peter Smiths story...He has a website how the lithium orotate and some other nutrients , NAC, helped him tremendously...I think what happens with bipolar is glutamate firing in the brain...I know its been 8 years ago since your comment but i hope u are going well...I also take a high grade mercury free cod liver oil...its helping me greatly with some others supplements and the NAC...the bipolar brain needs Omega 3

      @tanyajackson372 8 years ago!!! Wow! I would have to say to you, I wish the best for you. Sometimes MORE meds takes you to different places and sometimes to worse places. So, we find ourselves in a gerbil cage turning and turning. I ended up going off Lithium completely, as it messed me up severely. That caused crippling anxiety attacks which I never had before in my life, and continued to this day if I am not careful with my diet. We are not scientists, and this is definitely not the wizard of Oz. There are MULTIPLE factors that can change your brain. If we can have some form of control over our devastating emotional conditions, then we are doing something right. You need a stable support system and time to heal in a safe place. There is no magic pill. Thankyou for your post sweetheart. You are in my thoughts. *Hug* for you today.

      @@-Daralynn- thanks so much for your message...i heard the body only needs 0.5mg of lithium a day from food sources anyway...So bigger doses are pointless as u can become toxic...So just going to ad Celtic sea Salt to my food as it has traces of lithium for microdosing and only buying the 1000micrograms from life extension...u sound better....I think we can heal with right support...So true :-)
      Best of luck on your journey
      God bless

      @tanyajackson372 CLEARLY you are intelligent and level-headed! You are WAY ahead of the self-care game. And when you have those days where you can't deal...take the day/week/month with full rewards for yourself of what makes you feel good and safe, for as long as it takes. You are on the right road sweetie. We'll done! 😊

    There are many forms of Lithium, such as Lithium Aspartate, Lithium Ortate, Lithium Carbonate (the one the doctor gives you), etc. The main problem with Lithium Carbonate is typically you need a toxic dosage to make it effective, but not always. Lithium Carbonate will also dramatically effect your thyroid, which is the main reason for weight gain. Lithium itself is healthy, but Lithium Carbonate is only healthy is low dosages, which typically are not strong enough for bipolar and depression treatment.

      @cellogirl11rw55 8 років тому +1

      Well, I take 1800mg and am doing fine. It's only toxic if your blood level is over 1.2.

      I've been on lithium orotate (5mg) and one per day used to work. Now I'm on two per day and it does work mostly, but some of my depressive episodes are horrendous. I wonder whether going on lithium carbonate with a doctor would be more helpful.

    Lithium Orotate is sold as a supplement without prescription. It's supposed to be superior to prescription lithium carbonate that you are taking because much lower doses are needed and it doesn't have the side effects. Research it. You might want to switch to lithium orotate. :)

      crisisofconsciousness first of al lithium is a chemical element, not an essential mineral. the lithium ion is an essential mineral and lithium carbonates and other lithium salts are used as drug. lithium is an alkali metal, if you tried to use it to store up on minerals you would end up in hospital with severe burns

    • @Paddeiii
      @Paddeiii 7 років тому

      ye, when talking about nutrition is probably easier to understand for everyone that way. same with people talking about calories when they actually mean kilo calories. same goes for sodium btw: eating elemental sodium: severe burns. eating sodium cations, like in form of salt, completely unrisky :D
      what are you using lithium orotate for?

  • @paraibablue1475
    @paraibablue1475 9 років тому +6

    Have you tried LITHIUM ORATATE. Dr John Gray has a great YT video on this subject..Lithium Orotate does not have the bad side effects of the medical rubbish people are given. Its great for anyone who wants to ift their mood and its a natural mineral.

    lithium flushes out through the kidneys. Drinking too much will lower your blood levels dramatically. you shoud try to drink a constant amount daily and not overdrink.

    Personally, I give a medication three months to work. if it doesn't , then i say "Fuck it".
    I gave seroquel an entire year to work, and that crap is pure crap. seriously, i gained so much weight and got stretch marks.ugh.

    • @kcm4321
      @kcm4321 8 років тому

      really? it helps my excited rage quite nicely. not using technical terms cause part of me firmly believes mental illness is just a crutch, while the other part realizes it's not normal to be up for 2 days straight with no need for sleep let alone 5 days. but seroquel has worked quite nicely for me. good luck.

    • @jacksapple5773
      @jacksapple5773 8 років тому

      i guess everoyne reacts to medication differently. i realized i was misdiagnosed as bi polar. it turns out i have ptsd. so seroquel was not used right by my doc :/

    • @kcm4321
      @kcm4321 8 років тому

      Jacks Apple Yeah that's not exactly great... Did you see a different dr? Cause tbh I haven't gained very much weight if at all from seroquel. Gained weight from lexapro, but that's a guaranteed weight gain. Hmm. I guess different people really do react differently to drugs.

    • @mebeasensei
