Kakeru is looking good for Capcup. Punk though, looking forward to the next time Punk and Kakeru match. I'm not taking any bets on who wins that.
To be honest a lot of Angrybird's offense was going unchallenged at Evo. Kakeru also had the benefit of playing AB in the winner's finals before facing him in grand finals, so he was able to adjust. You could tell that AB wasn't used to people actually challenging him on his relentless offense one Kakeru started doing so.
Yeah although i watched the games live i didnt realize to what extent kakeru smoked AB. Apart the perfetc parries (which won the game for kakeru since they enable the opening for big punish combos) the level 2 air juggle with the help of the cane spexial move was out of this world

The level in Gamers8 was freaking awesome, like in EVO, where Tokido was the MVP in having the most hypest moments, Kakeru is the MVP in gamers8 for his comeback against Punk and his insane perfect parries against Angrybird Ken.

@@707zacbuster as a ken player even though i know the light dragon lash is way safer, its range is really short , and besides kakeru perfect parried even his in-combo dragonlash (not sure what version )
@@707zacbuster Heavy Dragon Lash is the only one that he doesn't get punished for by just blocking so there's no reason to use any of the others against someone so on their game like Kakeru. I think there will be a lot of moves like this in the future that are predictable in neutral, slow, and have no variance in timing that will be Perfect Parried a lot. I think the next thing we're going to get impressed by is people PP and walking through JP's Spikes like they didn't happen. I'd say Manon's overhead, too, but I don't think we're going to see any Manons hit the top 8 until a balance patch happens.

I understand tho.. its really frustrating playing against zoners with whole stage moving attacks. Probably the most irritating style of play to face and watch.

Daigo and Justin were elite players in the 2000s and early 2010s. But age caught up with them and the younger players just being better. That’s why Justin and Daigo don’t win any major tournaments anymore. Justin seems to understand this and has focused more on content creation and building a brand around his name. Daigo…not so much.
The matches, the crowd, the production and the hype of Gamers8 SF6 invitational was reeeeal, I would say easily it has exceeded the EVO level, and I believe next year's EVO will be called EVOArabia

Evo and gamers8 were fun watches, but I noitced so many perfect rounds, it felt abnormally high, makes me think the general damage output is perhaps too high? Its like 3-4 combos and you're dead, maybe should be 4-5

kakeru kinda got unlucky with his tokido loss. Should have been a win. Maybe he would have went on to win evo if that happened.
