You posted this in June and I'm only seeing it now. I usually react to the beauty with "oooh" or "wow" or "jeez," and they were plentiful, but I outright gasped when you pulled into the station at 26:35, hoping you'd stay slow until we got passed that magnificent waterfall. BUT when you stopped at 26:55, I gasped more and deeper. Thank you for that. When we left the tunnel 33:30, another gasp at the big and more narrow falls. I remembered we were in a tunnel-rich section, so I figured that was it, but no! This is perhaps the most spectacular video you made for us, and I see you're "live" now, so I'll pay what I can to keep you doing these.
Thank you! ❤️ I'm so glad the video affected you in such a good way 😃I've longed to be able to show you the true spectacle on this line :D More to come ;) just finished filming a evening autumn run :D where you see the golden colors of autumn everywhere :D
I just want to take a moment to say thank you for the effort you put into these videos, especially adding the information. It's a real treat and something we would never get to see otherwise.
Just over a year ago our family was lucky enough to do this fabulous train ride. We loved the Huldra spirit singing at the Kjosfossen waterfall (12:56) and your videos instantly take us back there. We absolutely loved our time in Norway and despite not being able to travel at the moment, thankfully we have videos like yours to enjoy! Regards and thank you from Sydney, Aust - Dave and family
Hello Dave, Thank you so much! This is a prime example of why I do these videos. I'm so glad it brings back such fond memories for you and your family. Hopefully we will be able to travel again in the future ❤️ Stay safe and healthy ❤️
wat voor ene mooie natuur ??? dan is de opname altijd geslaagd !!! super !!! die waterval op 27:30: dit is toch buiten gewoon mooi . bedank voor de prachtige opname ,groeten JULIEN .
One of my favourites RCG. Is it just 2 carriages down to Flam ? I am thinking houses are very expensive in that beautiful valley ? Such a beautiful train ride !!
WOW! That reminds me to "Hitchhiker to galaxy" where Slartibartfast lived on the planet Magrathea and designed planets and continents. He got a price for designing the fjords in Norway. Thanks for showing us!
I’ve only just discovered your excellent work! This camera setup is fab. The greens really are green. It’s been almost 30 years since I did Myrdal-Flåm-Myrdal (Octob er ‘92) but it’s not the kind of thing you forget! The rolling stock wasn’t particularly stable back then, and when a gang of very enthusiastic Japanese tourists saw the falls at ca. 35 mins., they all crossed from one side of the coach to the other. Think I heard creaking… Keep up the excellent work, you really do take driver’s cab footage to new levels! Tusen takk!!
How to choose a favorite video? But this one made such an impression on me by transforming the view along the Flåm line. Not only were the views so crisp, but the new camera really showed just how slowly the train must go to successfully navigate the serpentine route!
Woo-Hoo cowgirl! Love your videos of Norway from Oregon. What majestic valleys and MOUNTAINS!!! This is great to have on while listening to something else. Never disappointing! Thanks cowgirl! 😊
Que espetáculo de malha ferroviária, linha pra todo lado, mesmo com tantas montanhas, são inúmeros a quantidade de tunel. Parabéns aos governantes desse lindo país.
Wow! Surreal. Probably the best view of the Flåm railway yet. A trivial point @RCG but the opening text could be a little longer onscreen. Difficult to catch it all without pausing.
Thanks a lot! Yes, someone else told me that too. I believe I have managed to keep them up for longer in my more recent videos. Please let me know if not.
Beautiful! Really enjoyed this relaxing train trip .. Love the new camera angle, which made it feel like a new never before seen route... Thank you for posting ..
Wow, just witnessed this beautiful scenery; truly spectacular ever through the video. Please it you have any more video files like this do be sure to upload them, they are more than appropriated. ❤
RCG, yes this new camera definitely shows off the steepness of both the track grade and of the topography. Also the slow track speed which isn't as noticeable with the GoPro video. It seemed like you were going really slow after the first station below Myrdal. Normal? I loved seeing all the waterfalls and details like rust on the rails. Definitely had that "lock-down" vibe to it (where are all the people?) which sort of matched the gloomy weather.
The new camera is a great improvement. Thank you for the excellent work. We watch your videos on a 55" Samsung TV and sitting about 6 feet back from it makes us feel like we're in the cab with you. My wife watched with me today and said it would be a fun trip to take until she saw some of the sheer drop offs you pass by daily. Then the comment was something like "you're not getting me on that train!" :-(

55‰ is the ruling grade, and of course they have dynamic braking, would be pretty useless as a modern asynchronous locomotive if they didn’t :) unlike diesel electric the generated energy is returned to the catenary :)

Trees in two feet of snow are in leaf! Those are some hardy trees!
The only complaint I have is THE SPEED OF THE TRAIN IS TOO SLOW! Is there a reason for the slowness? Other than that the scenery was fantastic!
