I wonder what people would say who paid for those seats to watch these poor animals who deserved to be in the wild with their families if on the screen it showed how they captured baby Wales from their mother and how they both cried for a long time plus how they transport them after. Also on the screen if they also put what is in the water (chlorine high doses and not their natural environment) and all the medications they need to take because they are so sick and high levels of stress. Everyone would be really mad and never go back!!!
Trouble is if people stop going now they won’t have the money to take care of them which puts them at risk. They can’t be released. They won’t put them in a sanctuary. So they need people to go to these shows sadly. The way they do it now that it’s education rather than just show tricks is a better way to do it if it has to be done at all. As it does teach people about them and people will have more respect for them in the wild. Once these beautiful creatures die in these prisons this won’t happen again unless they get rescue whales which is still wrong. These whales can not be released into the wild. They were born in captivity. They would quickly die without a family pod, knowledge of how to hunt properly, and all the drugs and health issues they have because they have been locked up.
@@ladyp5828 The problem there is that SeaWorld may be tied at the end of a string for now, but once their numbers go back up, they are more than capable of reversing that no breeding decision and outsourcing for new whales. There is no legislation to stop them in Texas or Florida.
The animals made their own choice, I wouldn't say refused, if it was refused, it would've been try number 3, then that's a refusal, the trainers made the call knowing that you can't make a 6000 pound Orca do what it doesn't want to do

If you notice the only footage showing that in Blackfish was from the 70's, that is because they've learned and haven't done it since then. Most of the Orcas in SeaWorld's care right now have been born there and would not survive in the ocean. Not even in a sanctuary. The diseases and organisms that they have been protected from would kill them. SeaWorld does NOT deprive the animals of food. Did you know before SeaWorld had Tilikum he was very underweight only weighing around 7000 pounds, and once they took care of him at SeaWorld and fed him correctly he was over 12,000 pounds? Other parks have deprived them of food but not SeaWorld. I have done A LOT of research into this throughout the years. If you think Blackfish is a truthful documentary just know that it isn't. If you notice they don't give the background of the trainers. One of them never even work at SeaWorld Florida, (the park Tilikum was at) some didn't work with (or had very minimal exposure to the orcas) One was fired for kicking an otter! They were paid to badmouth and lie about an employer they disliked. The movie was made to pull at your heartstrings. SeaWorld took the crap from the movie, but they do a lot of good, for not only for the animals who live there but also thousands and thousands they have given medical attention to and rehabbed then rereleased.

However I do know SeaWorld does, and has helped thousands of animals. Not only the animals in their care, but animals in the wild that they have rehabbed and rereleased worldwide. I know there is always risks and liabilities when taking on specific jobs, especially ones that involve animals, but I’m pretty sure killer whales aren’t like this in the wild.

Seaworld could have better informed the trainers of any incidents in each of their whales history but by removing anyone from the tank should an accident or idiot end up in the tank the danger level is now much higher than it was. Now instead of "oh hi person" the whales will be very excitable and courious if a person was in the tank.
This kind of thing, when a whale is asked to do a behavior and does something else, happens all the time. It highlights the fact that these behaviors are voluntary. You can’t force a killer whale to do anything, and even if you could, it wouldn’t be a good basis for a relationship.

Can the dolphins and whales catch the virus
So far none have had any symptoms. Some belugas “caught” it somewhere in China but they weren’t really affected, so I would say no.
