Hey Adam, love these videos! Only source for good r18 service steps! I just picked up my r18 last week. Love it!
I have the base r18 without a passenger seat. Could you create a video providing some direction on how I could install the passenger seat and foot pegs? Dealer wanted to charge $900 for parts and another $500 for install 😢
Well, the seat is really easy. The foot pegs (I looked at the parts diagram a bit ago) and there are a few parts involved. Mind sending me an email and I’ll try to narrow down what you’re trying to do? Adam@adamchandler.me. I don’t think they should be quoting you $500 for it.
Great video Adam, could be worse, could be a Goldwing you were working on 😬
I’ve heard the horror stories.
Thanks for the video
I hope it helps to save you some $$$
Hi Adam. Thanks for the video. How you unmount the air intake covers before you took this video? I tried today but it was difficult to do it.
Hi, are you referencing the external plastic cover or metal? I'm very sorry if I didn't show it but you'll have to remove the R1800 plate and there are some screws behind that plate as well as a screw at the top (front & rear) under the tank that require an extended torx bit to reach.
thank you very much @@AdamChandler86
I like my k & n airfilter for my Indian roadmaster dark ten times easier to change. But thank you for the great video !!!
Thanks for watching.
nice thanks
Most welcome
Thanks for the video! Any chance you would do a valve clearance check? So far, I only found a Russian version.
Hi. I have the valve check service manual but I’ve decided not to do this job myself. The issue is complicated and maybe I should make a video explaining. But in short, lack of a lift that allows the rear wheel off the ground. BMW has a special tool for lifting this bike that I don’t want to buy. I just had shoulder surgery so I really can’t take up the job by myself. BMW dealer will charge me $150 to do a valve check so I’m just going to do that.
@@AdamChandler86 Thank you for the reply Adam! Any chance you can share the source of the service manual? Does it require purchase? But to be frank, $150 is not a big deal.
I got it through a connection at BMW. I posted everything here, it's post #12 www.r18forums.com/threads/600-mile-running-in-check-for-bmw-r18-b-bagger-including-volumes-and-torque-specs.1022/
@@AdamChandler86 Thank you very much!
Good call @@AdamChandler86 .. $150 is not bad. our local goddamn stealer wants upwards of $800..
