- In these elk bulge tube reviews I demonstrate 5 elk bugle tubes side by side in a Phelps vs Rocky Mountain side by side comparison to find the best bugle tube for your needs. I've heard a lot of elk bugling over the 50 years I have been hunting them and in my opinion all of these tubes sounded quite good and would work about equally well. I feel there isn't enough difference in any of them to make a difference. Which one you pick is just as good as the other. I've heard bulls bugling that sounded so bad and I just knew it was a hunter they hadn't learned to bugle yet, I mean they were bad. Them come to find out it was in fact a real live bull.
Yeah... They certainly would all get the job done! Of course, the differences are more defined in person than on film, but they all sound great and will call elk in!
Great comparison. I’ve been running a RM Bully Bull but that big Phelps tube sounds really good.
You ah, you really can't go wrong with any of them! All sound great and you have a lightweight option in the Phelps Unrivaled for those ultralight trips.
I know when Phelps was working on the unrivaled they noticed the sound differences uo close, but as they got 50 yards and beyond they sounded more the same. It might be worthwhile to compare from a distance as well...

In a pinch I used a extra radiator hose I had under the seat.....called in a bull !

I know people that can make a vacuum hose sound amazing. I think if has more to do with the person than the tube.

You have it backwards with the bully bull and unleashed. The bully bull has way better tone and control. The phelps is load and twangy and sounds like your bugling out of plastic.
