Mayo you ganna respond to zeroneedscoffe if he finnaly makes that vid about u
Thanks mayo this really helped me play on easy I just finished my play through on normal Now playing on hard is hard really that hard, just a question
@@Philly24 yeah the boss fights are pretty extreme
Oh and the game does not tell you that age locks you out of skills when you get older because it's lifelike. Nobody told me that one I turned 30 I would throw my back out by sneezing too hard but here we are
WAIT! does it lock you out from GAINING the skills or also from USING them? Cause if that's the case I just lose possibly like 4 moves after I turn 30 ?? Or can I just not put skillpoints into them at 30+?
@@TheStupidLama gaining, you can still use them
It tells you straight up when you pick a move at a shrine
I wondered wht is so different about aging feature.., it just looked like a set number of lives.
At least it has an effect.
Mb it should lower your health, and hit impact etc. But let u use more skills. It be also more logical.
Da burbs fool da burbs learn guerrilla warfare and these things amd weak patterns ov thankin wont tack that small 🧽 ov a brain in da fighting werld you ain't learned about dat now again stick to the pokeymon s and smash Bros tha mighty lang.
I just started this game and was super discouraged. After the first half of this video, and about an hour of practice, my ability in this game has nearly TRIPLED. I’m enjoying it so much more, and I’m starting to really get the point of the game. Thank you so much for the tips!
You're very welcome! It's such an amazing game, it just stumbles a bit on getting new players into its systems. Glad I could help.
Don't think of sweep as down up, think of it as back forward. This sentence revolutionized my play.
Yep. Changed everything
also press attack before letting go of forward and it will hit much more consistently
I came all this time later because the game came to Psn thanks from the future 😂
Ps plus but yh
Yeah this game is so damn good. Thanks Mayo!🙏
This game is fun. But it does require determination. trust me. dont give up.
You know what, I'm an old man, I've been here on UA-cams since its inception. And I gotts tell you, you are one nof the best educators I have ever seen. Flattery aside, the way you explained this game was exactly what I needed. Crystal clear, surgically precise. And immediately made my gaming experience that much better.
Thank you and I wish you luck my man.
I got the game in Nov. 2022. Gave up due to difficulty. Now I started again and exploring the combos and your video seriously helps one become a master at the game. You have put a lot of effort on the video and have explained things beautifully. Nice work. Gonna try all your advices.
Not to brag but I beat sifu without ever intentionally using throw.....mainly because I never could figure it out. Sifu is a great game and one of my all time favorites. Really any game that does something new is so refreshing that they stand out, games need to get out of being stroll playing games
Yeah same, it’s not really that important of a move
Dude, throwing was like a core part of my playthrough. It is just so satisfying, fun and extremely useful and versatile.
Sure, it's not mandatory to use it, but then again, you can play through the entire game by dodging and blocking everything and using a basic light attack combo.
Ill have to try a throws run.
. I love new innovations and learning new mechanics or new ways of story telling. Sifu, doom eternal, The messenger, Inscryption, BABA is you, are some of my latest favorites.
This was exactly what I needed. Crazy good guide and info! Thanks so much. I realized I was getting frustrated because I was absolutely playing it all wrong, trying to parry everything, and then panic dodging around a room when that didn't work with a group of them. It made me not like the game much. I am going to play again with all this in mind. Best tip btw was the away and forward for sweep kick. I always wondered why "up/down" only seemed to work sometimes. I thought I was just not doing the timing correctly.
happy to help!
I just bought the game a few hours ago and this guide definitely improved my experience with it. Thank You!
This guide is fantastic, I've been wanting to get better at Sifu for a while now and you really helped me wrap my head around it.
Thanks bro, really needed this!
so. incredibly. helpful. As suggested I'll watch the rest after the first couple levels.. and probably after playing them again and again to gain some muscle memory on those 5 or 6 basic mechanics.
This guide is super helpful. Just got this as a deal and wanted to play it forever. Was having a ton of trouble trying to parry everything. So much more enjoyable to avoid like you noted.
I’m glad you dropped a video today. You helped get through the day and it’s Friday tomorrow yay. Also I’ll play Sifu when I get home and give your video a couple more views
I’ve been playing this game for months and I just watched your guide today. You’ve earned my subscription Man. So much enlightenment, disciple thanks you
This guide is so well thought out and articulated it is insane. You really opened my eyes. Liked and subscibed thank you!
This is just excellent -- by far the clearest, most in-depth Sifu guide I've ever seen -- and I've seen dozens.
this video saved this game for me. I was playing just mashing x and y and mainly dodging with r2 and attempting to parry.
This video made me finally feel like I'm in control of the fight and it's so much more rewarding playing this way
Phenomenal guide, great help to enjoy this beautiful game, thank you!
I just got this game and I've been watching a lot of videos and this one is just what I was looking for. I was struggling with crowd control and trying to always parry which wasn't helping a lot
Wonderful guide. Thank you. There are many guides for this game. This is the best one I saw yet.
Thanks so much! I try so hard to keep the true beginners in mind, and give them steps to learn and practice.
Wow awesome explanation mate. Thank you so much you have mastered at this. Top notch
This is amazing man thank you so much
This game is awesome, but man wish there was more of it. Once you understand the combat it is crazy easy
But crazy hard to pull of as a beginner, yes u are right
try master deathless if it becomes too easy
Just as Sekiro, but I don't consider it a bad thing because feels great to master after a couple runs
Master difficulty will always be challenging until you put in about 100-150 hours
@@xxiii262 its a challenge ! Why play game , if its too easy ? I dont understand that way of thinking ....
Got this game yesterday and was having such a tough time finding the groove until I watched this guide and spent some time in training building up the muscle memory. Thank you!
Also, something I haven't seen anyone mention yet: The editing on this video is great! Really helps accentuate your points and fully elucidates the concepts as you're explaining them. Great job pal.
Thanks! I'm so glad this video has gone on to serve its intended purpose as a long term legacy guide.
This is brilliant, changed the game for me.
Saved to watch later for when I get my hands on the game. Thank you!
I picked up sifu on your recommendation, great game
Really great & detailed video! :D
I got this game a few days ago and tried it out. My character was 31 when I started The Club and I saw my first final death before I could get to the boss. Then I remembered this guide and watched it. Now I'm at The Museum with my character at the age of 33 thanks to your tips and suggestions. I like doing the L-L-L-H combo (the one ends with a tornado kick, which knocks most enemies down) to mix things up here and there and I still should use Palm Strike and Sweep Kick more but I feel like I'm improving.
Great video - I have owned SIFU for a while now, didn’t like it and quit, deleted it, and I’ve downloaded and deleted it several times. But I always think about it. I did the same thing with Hades but when I committed to sitting down, learning it and getting good, it’s become one of my favorite games ever made. Using this video I’ve started to rlly be able to appreciate SIFU and now I feel like I’m playing it the way it’s meant to be played. That is awesome and 100% because of your great work here. Thanks and keep it up!
Thank you! I'm so glad this video has gone on to do what I hoped it would.
Thanks for your vids. I had trouble with the third boss’ first phase but I finally got her. Im definitely redoing that fight since she got my dying multiple times. I just started yeaterday and so far have a good record, finishing warehouse and club at 20yo.
Personally my GOTY for 2022
The combat is one of a kind, so dynamic, every play-through is a unique experience. The slow feeling of getting good is immensely satisfying. But goddamn master is a humbling experience after you already got Disciple mode by the balls
Also shoutout to UTM for making these videos. I know your first video guide on the club was instrumental on me actually learning the fundamental mechanics because back then we didn’t even have the preliminary tutorial for the basics, and even when they brought it into the intro it would’nt have done much.
But a video like this would do a lot to reign in the new players and actually manage to beat Sean. Biggest mistake Sloclap made was to lose mass player retention by not explaining how to deal with Sean in the beginning
Picked this game up recently and I've been loving the experience. It's so good! I had a really rough time at The Club Boss which gave me a hard time but once I figured how be patient & dodge his bo staff attacks for counters the rest of the game wasn't as rough honestly. An amazing game indeed.
Sean is a big skill check. He tests your knowledge of the game, which sadly the game just doesn't give you. Once you understand how to beat him, the rest of the game clicks.
@@underthemayo yep that's exactly what happened. Thanks for the video though cause it's gonna help me improve even more &dying less on these levels with your advanced tutoring. Appreciate it.
It's the museum boss who has me STUCK now. Gosh she's annoying lol
@@itsIouielow blocking is something that is legit never used for me, but she spams it, and u barley get any punishing room.
GREAT video! Instead of "watch til the end so I get the most credit from the algorythm" you say "If you want to see each boss fresh, stop it here. goodbye!" Haha I appreciate that! And I'll be back. Several times!
This video is amazing. I started the game yesterday, but after this video i think of the games combat very diffrent. Thanks a lot man
I've watched many Sifu tips and tricks videos, and this one is by far the best. All the others just reiterate game mechanics but you take it a step further and demonstrate how the mechanics interact, along with great boss suggestions and what to expect from enemies. I actually learned something from you, unlike all the others. Now im gonna go try to kill the botanist again, deathless this time
Thanks so much. I'm doing the same style guide for streets of rage 4 in a couple weeks give that a shot.
Best guides out there, simple but effective. Repetition is key to mastery.
Amazing Guide, I went from age 30 in the first stage to age 22 in 2 tries.
Thanks a lot !
This was super useful thanks alot
Thank you for the guide.. Huge help🙂👍
I am coming back to this game after being frustrated about not getting my level two. I was doing so many things incorrectly I'm amazed I got as far as I did. I wanted a better explanation of what I needed to do to get better as I really want to finish this game.
Your videos are gold!! This is the best video I have found yet that actually explains the game and what to do to get better. This is very well done, sir!! Excellent. I WILL get though this game yet!
Glad it helped!
This video is super helpful. Amazing! This game is difficult but super fun.
I love how this game gives you flexibility in how you fight. Some people dont like parrying and dodge and avoid hits. I on the other hand habe beaten entire dead cells with shields only (you can block for damage deny or parry which damages enemy). So I naturally block but I finished sifu twice already and still CANNIT push/throw properly and I often get punished so i ended up avoiding it. Watching two different players could look vastly different.
I watched a guy running around room, sweeping througho tables and tossing every trash in enemies and it was awesome. It is completely different to how I fight which is calm and methodic. It's so fucking cool
Super helpful
The game doesn’t bother to tell you all the stuff you have complied
I just started the game yesterday and was sucking so bad at it
😃
Thanks to your video I will soon become a Shaolin monk 😃
You should be a teacher. Totally inspired me to keep going as I've found the mechanics difficult.
Whilst i used to love a fighting game, its been about 30 years and i was wondering if i just didnt have the reactions anymore!
Brilliant guide. Patient, super clear. Love the way you give simple steps for different stages of experience. Little things like "stop here" instruction for those just starting...
Much appreciated!
Thank you. I actually have teaching experience. Check back soon for a similar guide to Streets of rage 4
@@underthemayo well it shows 🙂 I'm a PS5 player unfortunately so I'm not sure if many of your reviews will apply to me but I'm scanning your content for recommendations as it seems I like what you like!
It's particularly nice to get content that feels geared towards people of my age. I know so many people in their 40s who've lost their love for gaming. So called AAA seems to have sucked the joy out.
We're often in the pub asking what happened, wondering why everything feels so formulaic, or if it's just an age thing.
You've convinced me it's an industry big studio problem. Loving Sifu
Very well done Mayo.
I’m really hyped that just dropped on the PlayStation for free, but feel very discouraged on the difficulty level watching this video and my love for rougelites Has given me the enthusiasm to pursue in becoming sifu Great video
I literally watched half this video and then cleared the first two bosses under age 25. Barely got through the first ten minutes last night
This was and still is a great video
Excellent guide, thank you, I am very late to this one, but it has intrigued me from it’s reveal on PS, however I waited as I like the Xbox controller far more
what the hell this is magic, i got zero death on my first map, lmao thanksss love you undermayo, im confuse why im fukin bad in this game, dead too much, and i saw ur video, damn it works, got zero death lmao , starting to love this game, thanks underthemayo love you
This is easily the best guide I've seen for this game. Fantastic. I just came from finishing Sekiro and was trying to play Sifu with Parrys.
SOR4 guide in this style on the way!
@@underthemayo I'll definitely check it out. Thanks.
awesome guide, perfect for steam version❤
I just picked up Sifu the other day on Switch, and got obliterated during the first hour of playing. I found your video explaining the game mechanics and you did an amazing job man. Being able to understand the game mechanics the way you did made me appreciate the game design and difficulty a lot more despite all the flaws you pointed out in other videos. Cheers!
Just picked up this game for free! Thanks for the tips, having a blast!
I am here now as i just got the game yesterday and played a bit and want to have some great tips before i die any further
This video is a far better tutorial than what the devs provided
Oh you mean "do these 10 different things once all in the intro and we'll assume you've learned what to do"? You're telling me that wasn't a good approach?
@@underthemayo no that was a great idea. Totally not an overload of information all at once without any chance of really retaining any of it
You made it for ME. Thanks I just started playing. Lol. Game this game hits hard.
I think this is the best guide I saw so far. I’ve been looking around too. I Seen maybe 3 so far.. all good.
You are going into detail about the effective use of combos way better than the others.
You gotta see this guys playstyle.👇
(I’m going to leave a link in the reply to this comment - if it doesn’t show up thats due to youtube funny business)
Most useful guide i think i have ever seen. Honestly completely forgot about directional throwing enemies.
Thanks! I've been delighted by the reception of this guide. Just wait for my Streets Of Rage 4 guide!
i was just about to start this game! just downloaded it a few days ago and was going to start this weekend
But pls do not make the mistakes of starting the game on the newly added student difficulty, trust me it's a waste of time and you will have one reason less to become better. My friend did exactly that and thought the game was pretty boring.
@@Ageleszly I suggest, you edit the beginning of your comment to "please do not make the mistake of starting the game on the newly added student difficulty".
Otherwise your comment sounds like it's encouraging us to start on the student difficulty, until we read the second half.
@@freemank8207 Thanks for the advice, yes that sounds pretty irritating. My englisch is pretty sloppy.
Just in time. I actually bought the game because it's on your videos. Just the video I need 🙏
THE BEST Guide!
U'VE SAVED MY LIFE!
I've beaten elder ring, wo long and Sekiro. I thought i could beat this game easily.
But this game frustrates me so hard. And I was about to give up.
This game became more fun and easier after watching ur guide!
Some types of games just resonate differently. You never know what's gonna give you trouble.
I don't even play Sifu... But I watch every Mayo video!
Cool to see my taunt suggestion made it in:)
Just bought the game on sale yesterday. I hope this will help me to get anywhere in the game :D
Big fan, Mayo
Chasing strikes is my favourite move. To do it u need to make your enemy tired like he doesnt move and u can finish him. Directional Throw him and press light attack. Hope this helps!
Coming to this after the xbox release. Such a clutch video to watch.
Really well done video friend.👌
Can u throw an enemy in the direction u want?
It seems to just throw at nearest thing.
I wish to choose where,,onto which other enemy or environment etc.
Also the throw weapon i yhink it just aims it at the nearest enemy, i forget now.
Game seems so short sigh.
Already done 1st chapter in just a lil time. Shame.
Awesome! I’m a huge fan of the game I beat it once but got my ass handed to me on a number of occasions, as a guy who is trying to get into fighting games mainly Tekken 8, I found a list of non fighting games you can play to help you sharpen your fighting game skills on the gamer’s website and one of those titles was Sifu mostly to help with my patience and sharpening my defensive skills in video games which obviously, is very important for any type of fighting game out there including Tekken 8.
Probably should have watched this before beating the game for the first time. Still lots of good info!
Got Sifu right after finishing Sekiro. Good to know I've been a fool trying to parry everything. Good info here.
I switched left joy stick to dpad, great for combos but movement is slower. This is the best guide I’ve seen.
Thank you! Doing one for streets of rage 4 in a few weeks.
Thanks
Spiking sales for Sifu...gj on guide
Imma need you to head over to Sloclap and redo their tutorial. This helped way more than what was available in game. Thank you!
Thanks man. I played for 2 hours and gave up. I found your video today and it helped immensely
This is very useful. I really liked this game but kind of hit a wall at the 4 place. I managed to get to seans level deathless and get to sean deathless but he guaranteed killed me. Struggled through 3rd level but 3 boss imo is easier than sean but not without deaths still then I dont even get to the fourth boss.
I skipped the part of your video on bosses becuase even though I struggle i wanna fight them fresh though might watch it for the first 3 since I can beat them consistently with varying difficulty
This game was really hard to get in to, but extremely fun when you understand how to play. I played Absolver before this so I thought it would be easy because they're made by the same people. I was wrong.
Damn Mayo, I just beat the game yesterday after picking it up 3 days ago. Slightly too late, still going to watch it anyways.
You may find something here to make a replay more enjoyable.
I have been trying to put out combos as fast as I can, neglecting throws and just winging some sweeps. I can see I was lost in the path of the Kung Fu, I shall try to practice and land each hit meaningfully.
I just want the fucking fall update already
I beat the game, but I feel like I’ve learned so much from this that I want to get back in it and play again. Maybe that’s what slocap wants. Weird approach but maybe good?
Best game of 2022 for me
I'm here because it was on sale so the video is great for me
If you parry Kurokis knives you can catch them and throw back and it will do lot of damage. Ofcourse only if you have that skill unlocked.
The fact that you pronounce Sekiro correctly makes me like you
I just picked up this game from PSN and man, it’s hard to out stuff. Why doesn’t it tell you what basic combos are? How do you even select the focus thing? How do you hit an enemy when they fall down? How do you duck? Basic stuff not easily figured out when you have to just start button mashing to try to panic survive.
I’ll have to revisit this video once or twice.
After 2 hours of dying in the first or second club fight I watched this and beat Sean on my next try
That's what I like to hear.
The game doesn't tell you this, but when fighting yang, you can't use any focus meter on him in either of his fazes and if you try to that leaves you vulnerable, just keep dodging and punishing
fun game. wish it had more content though
Just one thing that nogged me in that guide: the name Fajar is spelled as "fa[dzh]ar", not as "fa[ch]ar", in indonesian it's a sonorous "j".
Very helpful video
I kept dying and dying in the club and I left the game soo many times because of that
Now am at the tower at 21 yo
I just started this game.I suck but im having fun
That animation canceling it’s an huge “improvement” once you get it. But that’s the type of thing the game don’t tell you but you it’s very useful once you practice it
Yeah it's definitely a higher level thing.
block parry dodge
The timing. This dropped like the same time as the title update trailer
It's been ready to publish for months.
