I feel the way you did with celestial shadows but with Hikaru (have not read my vol 4 yet) Vol 1 was okay but 2 and 3 were not great so idk hope it gets more creepy so your review of vol 4 has me more excited! Also vol 3 of A-DO is worse than 1-2 but still good like you said. I actually said the same thing with wanting them to build up more before I read them! Toni = GOATONI
I just started reading Welcome Back Alice now that we have the final volume and I'm loving it just like I expected to. I know Toxic Daughter: Chi-Chan a oneshot got licensed for next year but other than that there is only a couple more things he's released that we haven't gotten in English.
Yeah I dropped Snowball Earth before even buying volume 2. I'm putting manga on the back burner for a while. I'll get my releases, but I haven't found anything new that I've fallen in love with since Dandadan and I wouldn't really say I've fallen in love with it just enjoy it so in real terms since maybe buying Doubt last year
@tonireadsmanga yeah I just watched the omnibus collector's new video and I felt nothing for any of the new releases. Idk I guess it is me too, manga use to feel like a whole in the wall like special now everyone and their mother is reading mha. Don't hate that, but it makes it lose something. Use to feel like a really cool secret even if it wasn't really
I think you and I have similar taste in seinen and shonen. I agree with everything you said with ones I've read. I am going to avoid Snowball Earth lol . I have the impression that Shuzo Oshimi is using his art to heal, it's like reading someone's diary, makes me a lilttle uncomfortable, makes me understand why they're writing these stories.
Yes, I agree completely. I thought it was really interesting reading this author’s note because even though this series had a happy ending, it didn’t really seem like Oshimi got any closer to the answers he was trying to find about himself. I wonder what he’ll choose to write about now that this series and Blood on the Tracks are finished.

I’ve loved all the volumes of Hikaru so far but volume 4 is definitely the creepiest, especially in the second half.

I’m glad you’re enjoying Welcome Back Alice! I’ll gladly pick up anything Oshimi decides to write in the future.

I feel like they’re just publishing anything and everything that’s been released recently. There’s lots of mediocre stuff out there right now.
