    THANK YOU for bringing attention to an atrocious "regular" practice, it's inhumane, barbaric and unacceptable. I only hope it reverberates with those that need to understand the impact of their actions in partaking in this sort of treatment of life. And to those who stand up to it and flee persecution, may you find refuge & solace in a better place, bless you all, especially those baby girls you saved.

    Thank you for making this video and posting it. This is the single most important issue today, affecting every aspect of life on earth as we know it, because killing girls leads to devaluing the feminine elements of life such as motherhood, children, the environment, respect for women, honoring nurturing care-
    giving loving and respecting everyone equally.

    Its devastating...I lived in India for 10 yrs and have known about this for a long time and the situation in China. When hostages are taken and threatened, the world is up in arms...Yet this is murder at its most cold and calculated ,by the state and women and men brainwashed and conditioned to accept the wrongs of their culture...I wonder how much trade and maintaining good political relations have to do with the veil of political silence and a western interest.

    This is what I am waiting for. The vengeful part of human side is hoping that one day they will see just how much they are harming themselves, wake up, and see how important women are.
    You can't have the human race with just one gender.

    It's disastrous because even though China and India are vastly overpopulated they are still having babies- just boys. However when the boys grow up they have no one to marry and start families of their own- not in rural areas where good education, housing and employment are hard to come by. The ones that don't kill girls are the wealthier people who are more likely to live in Urban areas and are more educated- they are the ones who want their daughters to live, have careers and marry men who are well-off and will not dominate or abuse them- or kill any of their female children. The girls want that too. So the boys/men in rural areas can't find anyone to marry in the end and will not have children. Then they are the ones who are mocked and scorned- yet whose fault is it? People can be such fools.

    Its hard for me to feel how awful this is because its just too horrific. My mind rushes to a solution...which can only be the ability for everyone to hold each other accountable for responsible.

    I think there should be more abstinence taught or at least some other form of birth control. Not because of any religion but because so many babies are being born. Some are loved and cared for but many are not wanted at all.
    Then there are the countries already over populated and have little means to support themselves let alone children.
    The planet we live on can't support so many and we need to slow down population growth and NOT by killing babies who are innocent victims!
    This makes me very sad. I wish I had an answer/solution but I don't.

    Obviously not ALL men rape (which, again, is not what anybody is saying), but it's enough of an issue that we as a society NEED to look at the facts and work to end this rape culture, fueled by patriarchal and misogynistic mindsets.
    Just read the description if you are that lazy, or look up the overwhelming statistics, either way: rape of and genocide against women IS occurring and has been for years. Educate yourself.

    From time to time as a person interested in defending the male gender against the onslaught of feminist misandry where their narrative characterizes men and male identity in simplistic negative terms, I am asked to comment on presentations that are felt to present an anti-male perspective.
    Its not uncommon that TEDxTalks skew anti-male in some of its presentations. I was asked to see this video and comment.
    Well, I've seen it, and to be honest I don't see a real problem with the issues raised by the speaker. Too often feminists equate men who offer perspectives unsanctioned by their absolutist ideology with people who advocate rape or the deaths of girls and women in countries where such things take place. Its not so of course, but when feminist seek to continue their monopoly on gender discourse,, Its not surprising that the image of men unwilling to bow to their one-sided view of gender observation and gender expression is promoted with associations with the absolute worse examples of those whose actions against women are obviously reprehensible.
    That aside, I can't really dispute calls for rational changes within the policies of countries that practice "gendercide." I suppose one can speak about China's aim to keep their already high population regulated to keep it in line with its available resources, which, presumably cannot handle unregulated births beyond what those resources can acommodate. The decision to value boys within that society may have something to do with ideas concerning practical utility, and the feeling that boys will more likely be a benefit to industrial and agricultural progress, and not a costly burden, as they perceive women to be.
    Personally, I don't think killing girls at birth or forced sterilization is the answer. Human life has value, and though I have no problem with women acquiring abortions as a fundamental right, I don't count myself as pro-abortion. After all American women have no problems exterminating a pregnancy, even if the potential father offers to raise the child himself. There is some irony in that when an American woman wants to have a child contrary to agreements made with her significant other not to do so, she can use the law to force unwanted economic-based fatherhood upon him.
    The issue of large numbers of women and girls killed or used in sex trafficking or other gender related activities that reduce these women to less than human status is important to address as a human rights issue and should be pursued as an act of promoting human justice, which regards sentient human life with enormous value. I don't see this particular Ted Talk as something advocating a negative image of men, just a negative image of a tradition that is no longer legitimate in the modern world. The video doesn't point fingers at men and features a woman who willfully participated in the killing of her female babies.
    As for the women in China who are compelled to abort their pregnancies, I think its instructive that what's being aborted may also include male, or potentially male babies too.
    But the underlying concern of this particular talk isn't anti-male nor does it encourage simplistic models describing male identity.
    I don't see a problem with the video.

      Dellusional , troglodyte mra. You idiots love to accuse women of not caring about the mens issues, then say shit like this is ok because boys are valued so much more. Go into a desert somewhere and leave women alone.

    • @HoppyBunny.
      @HoppyBunny. 9 років тому

      Bryna Loewer And yet I've said, I have no problem with the video. And I suppose that makes me a troglodyte MRA. Not that what I'm going to tell you has any hope of getting through to you, but its not women that MRA's accuse of not caring about men's issues, its feminists. The gender of feminist doesn't matter. That issue has been settled, accepted and now MRA's are moving on. So, what is your problem with the MRA? well, if you can manage to get beyond the cherry picking and massive distortions offered by the feminist who still believe only their prejudiced view on gender discourse is th reality, most MRA's I know, hold that men and men's lives have value and they seek to work towards a rational and reasonable framework within society and legal institutions that discriminate against men to ingratiate feminists. They seek to alter the media image of straight men away from the feminist advocated and encouraged simpleton, or monster or mindless oaf presently featured in most TV shows. MRA's legitimately challenge and critique the increasingly distorted character, lived experiences and sociological methodology shaped by feminist to perpetuate negative associations with men and male identity through the feminist narrative of gender.
      Any ideological group that defines caring about men issues by imposing upon men what they believe is best for men to think, feel, believe and express, has about as much sincerity as a slave master on a plantation claiming he cares about his slaves. Feminists constantly say to men that they know more about the lived experiences of men than the men who live them and they and they alone feel they are qualified to decide, determine and define what men think, should think, feel, should feel and believe, should believe. All the while saying this is what caring about men's issues should encompass.
      By the way, why would any man who helped build the towns cities and neighborhoods be the ones to go into the desert? It seems clear to me based on your example that if women want to be left alone, they should leave and go into the desert.

      +blackburn9 sorry no...most MRAs think men should be societies first and foremost concern in every area of life, they are lamenting the loss of unearned priveledge, it really pisses them off that there are now laws in place that have levelled the playing field somewhat, you are nothing but a batterer advocacy group member using the language of civil rights groups to disguise that fact.

    • @astrogirl9987
      @astrogirl9987 8 років тому +1

      You are asked to spread your hate groups propaganda plain and simple, this represents 90% of your hate groups activism, as a mother of 2 sons I deeply resent what you and your fellow hate group members have done in tarnishing the reputations of real men's rights groups (who are actually out there trying to create services and support for male victims) by misrepresenting the MRA title and using civil rights language to disguise your groups true intentions which is to reverse protections put in place for women abuse victims in any way possible. Your poorly designed studies, fake experts, and lying stats are all designed for this purpose and this purpose alone and the vast majority of people can see this and as a consequence all MRA groups have been tainted with the hate group label...good job.

    • @HoppyBunny.
      @HoppyBunny. 8 років тому

      truthonion Your method of conclusion defining how or what MRAs think first and foremost, cannot be adequately proven.Following along typical feminist talking points about gender in general, your insistence that what MRA's really want is men in societies be first and foremost is an empty simplistic supposition. As long as men remain the gender chiefly obligated towards personal and group sacrifice, the primary engine for material, scientific and technological advancement as well as higher social progress, any concept of first and foremost is not something men have to worry about not maintaining, if men hold that "first and foremost" is a factor.
      Since this is understood through casual observation, this means you remain incorrect.If MRA's want anything at all that can be summed up succinctly, is the end of or rejection of artificial standards, methodology and societal preferences, which always results in inequality and prejudices under the false cause of equal rights and social progress. MRAs and other men's groups easily recognize the hypocrisy chiefly stemming from feminists where they simultaneously demand preferential treatment, laws, policies and privileges at the expense of men, (that is, men aren't equally beneficial to the same gender specific laws, policies, etc...) while advocating social justice and equality there is no existing observable evidence they themselves practice..
      Since feminists do not practice self examination, nor self-introspection and reject absolutely any form of external critique that suggests contradiction in their basic gender ideologies, With typical universal scorn, feminists simply conclude any external examination of its ideology and gender theories unsanctioned by feminist dogmatism and rhetoric as misogyny, racism and sexism.
      What it comes down to is simple. Men and MRA's appoint as unalienable that men' have value and worth that is no longer recognized by mainstream society after 30 years of unending feminist misandry and man bashing. Feminist revisionist history has offered a one-sided almost universally negative depiction of the male gender, while promoting artificial moral and ethical superiority onto the female gender. The reality is, while women's lives and experiences do have value, an unartificial assessment of that value would be modelled on objective standards where contributions and achievements in science, technology, government and other philosophical and material is measured would clearly show the stark differences between the genders, where men 's contributions far outweigh women and generally redresses past social and civil wrongs. In the modern era, even without ancient gender restrictions placed on women, given a free choice the majority of women continue to obligate men to take most of the risk,endure most is not al the sacrifice, while also accepting diminishing returns for the sake of elevating a gender unwilling to play by the rules it designs in the name of "respecting women's lives."

    Mother Earth is a finite resource that we all depend on to feed house and clothe us. But every day we hear horror stories about attrocities we inflict on her with little or no regard to the fact she is over burdened neglected abused ignored disregaurded degraded raped beaten and exploited by us.So why expect any other life giving female entity on her to be treated any differently. Who knows maybe in the long run this is the only way to save her is by all women being willing to sacrifice themselves for the common cause of world depopulation. Oh yeah lets not forget the girly men and manly women who are doing their part for the team.I wonder if someone could make an algorithm or what ever you call it to determine what effect gendercide and homosexuality will have on overall population in the next fifty years or so. And in the long run who will be having the last laugh because we all know the more scarce a resource is the more valuable it becomes the more status it gains.Maybe everything is just as it should be or maybe I'm a lazy self defeated idiot without the guts to try and do anything about it so this drivel is my escape from humanitarian duty. Who knows ?And yes My spelling does suck but you still get my drift dont'cha?

    • @thaywalcus

      liz casler as sick as it is, every action has an equal reaction. yes, homosexuals, asexuals etc will help drive the population down a bit. those countries are heavily populated anyway, it is sad that a few million girls will be kidnapped in poorer countries and trafficked there to supple the over-populated male population, but in 50 years, due to this stupidity - we can see a decrease in population.
      let's also hope, their standard of living will increase due to the depopulation that they value their improved lifestyles to maintain a minimal birth society... if they keep breeding the way they do, it will eventually lead to war or excessive migration to countries that gave a fuck about their people's standard of living
