Thanks for making this video. I try not to talk about parts suppliers in my videos, but I also had an issue with the big yellow guys and it was obviously a quality issue due to the welding process. I will admit I bought the parts ahead of time of my building and the part was out of the return policy time, but there were holes in the welds that would in no way seal. Yellow guys wanted me to pay shipping. For the cost of shipping I had the part tig welded so I could use. I voiced my concern with their quality and customer service with no reply. I go with Summit or Amazon now. No more yellow store for me.
Just got mine in today. Hopefully installed soon. The only thing I will say about a fuel cell is pressure test it. It could be leaking from the weld around the fitting which is why tightening the cap doesn't help. Just an idea
Third time is a charm! So glad you have found a solution!
Exactly right! it’s been a long and frustrating process, but Evil energy is the way to go.
The second fitting is for a fuel system with a return.
@@speed0311 you don't return into the bottom of the tank lol
On the JEGS tank Did you put sealant on the cap fitting and make sure the tank was properly vented? Tank needs to breathe or it can pressurize, fitting on the bottom will leak. Shouldn’t have to use sealant on AN fittings though so something could be wrong with the fittings .
I tried sealants and gaskets after the initial dry AN lines would leak. And yes the tank was vented properly. Just sitting in the car it would leak out. Without running the tank would leak about a cup of fuel every day. It ended up being the tank, as soon as I switched over to a different tank the leaks stopped, same fittings used.
I just got a fuel cell from Rhodes Race Cars and getting ready to install it. Hopefully problem free
Couldn’t You Use The Other Port for A Surge Tank ?
Potentially. But I don’t need that system. Just more money and these were leaking. So I sent it back.
Conical seals
This is an option. But that’s something that might need to be done or used after years of being tightened and loosened. Not on day one with a new system.
This sounds like Chinese propaganda
It would be, but both are made In china
Could the reason be the weld on bungs on the "brand Name" tanks had warped beyond AN 37 deg sealing capability ?
Not sure what it was. I really don’t. It just makes no sense and I was done paying brand name prices for the same cheap stuff on Amazon. And the Amazon parts don’t leak… so there we go!
