this is GREAT Video & absolutely life saver, I was already getting annoyed with the dash coming off frequently ... but after watching this, I knew what route I needed to go! Thanks Bro!
nice work around, d. for those who have suction issues may i suggest a tiny spritz of hairspray on the suction… old bmx trick for getting handle bar grips to stay in place…
There is a great way to prevent the suction cup from falling off that I learned a long time ago and have been using all my life. Use liquid glycerin. It can be bought at a regular pharmacy. It is usually used to soften the skin of the hands. Apply a small amount of glycerin to a clean and undamaged suction cup and attach it to a clean windshield. Do not be alarmed, at first, the suction cup will easily ride on the glass, but only at the beginning. That's it, your suction cup will hold securely for months, and maybe years, even at very high temperatures.
I absolutely love the n4 dash cam , its paid itself off. However only thing i hate is having to take the sd card out every time i want to see the footage. For the price point it’s quality is 10/10. I’ve switched over to blackvue now but this is still definitely one of my favorite dashcams ever! I’ve only had the issue of the mount falling off due to heat but once i got my windshield tinted with ceramic it never fell off again.
I have the Vantrue GPS suction cup mount, and it has let loose two three times in a year. A little annoying, but not a deal breaker since I want to be able to reposition the camera (and I leave myself enough cable slack) depending on...well, just depending. I've found that cleaning both the glass and the cup with 90% or higher rubbing alcohol before placement seems to improve my results.
Get the Crosstour CR900. I’m currently running that dash cam on my Accord. It includes a rear camera as well, I’ve been running it for about 2 years now and still holding up pretty good
You will probably find in the hot sunnt days that the adhesive Vantrue use will eventually fail. The 3m tape depends much on its source & quality. Others report this problem. I had a problem and found a double sided tape which so far has proved its worth. Its the relatively new Chinese made traslucent 1mm tape from Ali Express. There is even a stronger 2mm version. Its advantage itrs that its very strong, seems weather resistant and, if necessary , can be peeled off easily without trace.
Hey Dan nice channel, keep the videos coming man. I was backtracking to the beginning of the Accord videos trying to find info on what front splitter did you install, yours seem like it has a good fit. If you remember, drop me a line, thanks!
Hi Dan, watch all of your video's on the Vantrue N4 dash cam with rear camera, just purchased one and installed it, Once thing I am not clear on is what do I set the camera at on a 400 mile/km trip, do I just leave it on loop or is there a better setting? Thank you for your time.
Should leave it on loop. The size of your card and the resolution will determine how much of that trip you catch. The 256gb I have on full quality is good for about 3 days but that with parking mode active for a lot of it
Man my thing is I don’t want to stick it to the glass as I’m going to get my windshield tinted before install. Looking for a rear view mirror mount for the V4
Hey man how is the car doing. Just checking in on your channel after some months. I've been on Phearable stage 3 since I watched your vids on it. No issues so far. What's your mileage at. How's the mods doing. I have been thinking recently of adding down pipe.
Hi Dan, not sure if you will see this but I was wondering if it's still safe to use the adhesive mount if I have my windshield tinted? I'm worried it could rip the tint off
Do you even need the power cord plugged into the GPS when you have power plugged into the left side of the camera. With my Vantrue N2, I can plug it into either one and get power to both.
for a $250 item, I'm disappointed in the features and ability to change settings. Loop recording only works for 5 min max. Why would you not have a feature that starts overriding the videos once your 250gb card is full? I drive for uber, and do about 12 hrs a day of driving. The 250gb card only lasted me about 3 days of recording (without the rear camera recording). Horrible. I now switched to 720p for all cameras. I need to keep at least 1 week worth of video, better if it was a month. Because if I get a false claim on the 4th day, I'm screwed.
Also, it would be much more helpful if they allowed your video to record just as it shows up on your screen. So instead of 3 cams having 3 vids in 1440p and 1080p you would have 1 vid, which would provide you with a lot more space for recording. Its quite easy and cheap to do, you would expect such an expensive item to have something as simple as this. Especially one that poses as a camera for uber drivers.
Hey dan so i have a 1.2v ktuner on my 2.0 accord and i’m planning on getting a rv6 downpipe, so i was wondering do i have to flash the tune before installing the downpipe
You can flash the tune after the downpipe or if your already flashed you can disconnect your battery for a min or so to let the car learn the new parameters from adding the dp
This is an off topic question but, i want to install my catless downpipe the tune won’t be here until a week or two. How bad would it be if I run catless for about a week or two (no crazy driving) ps. I appreciate you answering my questions in a bunch of your videos keep up the good work💪🏽!
Hey Dan, thanks for making such a great content! Watched almost all of your videos because I want to buy one of these especially the 2.0 touring version. What do you think of the silver color and which is best suitable for the car. I also liked all of your mods and thinking the to do the same. Subscribed on the first vid
Yeah there's a lot of things to consider. Overall I'm very satisfied with this dash cam. The features and quality are great. The only issue I had was this one with the suction up falling off when it gets real hot in the car.
Hella people are dealing with this issue and Vantrue is shipping these mounts to people for free. I hate that my SD card always needs to be formatted, what is a dash cam worth when you can’t even keep the footage?
this is GREAT Video & absolutely life saver, I was already getting annoyed with the dash coming off frequently ... but after watching this, I knew what route I needed to go! Thanks Bro!
Thanks! I've had the suction cup lose grip a number of times (Florida heat and sun).
Much appreciated!

That's a good trick would have never thought of it on the suction cup
Thank you... I just purchased it...Much appreciated!!!
tnx m8, that video sort some questions I had about the GPS mounting
yeah, I have the same problem with my N2 and N2 Pro.

Yeah it's pretty sweet, yep as soon as we got a few hot days here that's when mine let up as well.
Do you live in a hot climate? We are in Cancun so heat issues on suction cup or 3m adhesive tape. Excited to try your idea
Thanks man, I was wondering if I cleaned my glass properly. Or dirt got on the suction. 👍🏾

Hey man love the content. I got ktuner because of you. Quick questions. Do you monitor k count at all and do you get a few here and there?
I just monitor knock control

Great content Dan👍
Thanks!

It's good no issues, I'm at 35k now
Hi Dan, not sure if you will see this but I was wondering if it's still safe to use the adhesive mount if I have my windshield tinted? I'm worried it could rip the tint off
The adhesive is pretty stong so it just may be able to damage it, if you wanted to remove the mount
Do you even need the power cord plugged into the GPS when you have power plugged into the left side of the camera. With my Vantrue N2, I can plug it into either one and get power to both.
It's a N4, 3 cameras, So one for power and the other for the rear camera 📷
@@carshow6819 Thank you
Hey Brah, I just bought the N2S, just wondering why you have two type C connections pluggin? I just plugged in the one on the gps mount.
I thought the same thing
One is for power and the other is for the rear camera

Yeah you'll be fine
Dan
I was looking for any vedio in youtube that shows in details how to replace the transmission oil in the 10AT accord
Do any one can help?

Thanks really appreciate it. Color choice is all preference, I personally think it looks good
Ahhh, choosing a dashcam has been so hard for me.
Yeah there's a lot of things to consider. Overall I'm very satisfied with this dash cam. The features and quality are great. The only issue I had was this one with the suction up falling off when it gets real hot in the car.
Thanks ...............but I can't get my wifi to connect at all is there a sequence ?????????
This camera doesn't have wifi
Does it remove easily, if you wanted to bring in in for the night?
Yes but that defeats the purpose
Why do you have USB cable plugged into mount and camera?
One is to power the main camera the other is for the rear camera
@@DanVilla7 That's unusual... You would think 1 power cable would / could power both cameras???
@@rtosguyit is 1 power cable the rear taps into the main camera for power
Where did you go Dan? Everything ok?
Hahah I'm good just bored waiting for a good deal to come up on a new car.
@@DanVilla7 glad to hear. Keeping the Accord just adding to your mix or??
More than likely selling it
@@DanVilla7 would hate to see it go. Any ideas?
just ordered phearable stage 3 tune for my 2.0. What other performance mods would you recommend next in terms of power per dollar? Thanks :)
Downpipe then intercooler for sure
Where do you recommend to install your dash cam?
It's a DIY for most
What your long term experience been like ?
Its been great both the camera and this mount
Hey you still have your accord?
Yep still have it. Looking to get into something else
did you sell the accord ?
I still have it
Hella people are dealing with this issue and Vantrue is shipping these mounts to people for free. I hate that my SD card always needs to be formatted, what is a dash cam worth when you can’t even keep the footage?
No new videos lately, they were fun while they lasted, 🥴
Ahhhh yeah been getting that a lot. I'm searching for the next project
I understand having camera mounted on windshield is not legal. obstruction of site.
