Clarke is so smart and retainable when she realizes something is up. Catching when Gabriel saying “the flame in your head” basically sayin like “bruh go with it.” And Clarke always picks up on it without being too reactive. Good survival skills

yeah just to know his daughter and I think August were tree crew and were just protesters. I was trying to see if Indra had the same tattoo as August? is that his name? the guy who wanted to find his girlfriend?
In the next episode, Niylah revealed that Callie is famous amongst the Grounders to the point that even her enemies wept at her loss.

I find this interesting that he could understand Clarke, but struggled understanding Niylah. I also noticed his tone and body language changed and he took Clarke on more of a personal level then. Many people think the look on Clarke's face was because she was just lying. To me Clarke most likely would have said the Flame was destroyed and that is a mind drive in her head because she already knows they have technology to find if she is lying. What if seeing Bill triggered some memories she can now access because they are in the mesh or the other commanders jumped into her drive. The difference of aesthetic between the mind drive and flame could be for a more compact easier to operate design. Gabriel coded their minds in his own way with no AI and Becca's code was unique with an AI in it that could probably rewrite the mind drive. Clarke also gave Gabriel an odd look when he said they call the AI the Key and not the drive the key. To protect Sanctum I don't see Gabriel not telling them Clarke had no device like the Flame in her head nor did she ever mention one.
Remember Clarke learned the language. So when she speaks it, it's slower. It doesn't 100% sound natural. When Grounders speak it, they talk really fast sometime. It flows easier.
@@Cuban20 Thanks and I did - but that was kind of my point in a way that I just didn't actually articulate well. I was actually wondering if Clarke speaks it as Callie spoke it using more of the same accent. Making him believe that Callie really is in Clarke on top of the knowledge Clarke possesses. It just struck me as odd that he acted like the language had to come from Clarke and no other possible explanation. It is different for Niylah because like you said it is a native language, but I started to think about the fact the clans could possibly even have their own accent as well. I never really thought about prior to this episode.
Clarke is lying. Either that or it’s likely that she retained memories from when she had the flame in. It’s said that all commanders are required to recite the names of all the former commanders on ascension day, so putting the flame in may automatically familiarize the current user with the names of all of its previous users. On the other hand, Clarke doesn’t have a mind drive anymore. It was extracted by Gabriel in season 6.

Gabriel obviously cares about her to some extent or like you said he would’ve told them by now she doesn’t have the flame. He knows she does t have it because he removed the drive from her head but when he was telling clarke that what they call the key they know it as the flame and he kinda gave her this look for her to go along with it. Clarke knows she doesn’t have the flame and she knows Gabriel knows she doesn’t. They are in a very precarious situation right now and they’ll take any leverage they can get. Bill was obvious about how much he wants Clarke to have the flame so they went along with it until they can get further information. Jaha told them about the second dawn and she know from Becca about Bill burning her at the stake so she knew just enough information to play along. This is also the reason I believe Echo, Octavia, and Diyoza are all faking because they all (at least Echo and O) know clarke doesn’t have the flame so if they were actually loyal to Bardo they would’ve told them by now.
