But remember they didn't immediately pass it, it took them some months I believe. Strangely, enough I think Bellamy dying didn't hit Octavia that hard. After all, she spent 10 years on a different planet with no way of getting back (that she could think of at the time), where time moves faster. She had to mentally say goodbye to him while she was there and practically think of him as dead and gone since she was most likely to never see him again. So she already grieved so to speak. So I guess she was more or less able to recover faster with him dying since she already came to peace with the idea of never seeing him again. Sorry for the ramble, I hope that made sense.
