This is a great video that I think every person who finishes Stellar Blade should watch just to get insight on all the collectibles and deeper lore in the Stellar Blade Universe. It really shows just how manipulative, awful, and downright evil Adam/Raphael Marks/The Elder Naytiba really is, and why killing him is easily the best route for Eve and Lily.
well, both "gods". Mother Sphere too. So everyone choses lesser evil (as always in our history). And both choses i thing have ground to be right. Most Naytibas mostly carnivore predators, without selfawarness. So they not humans anymore. But they still living creatures, new biosphere of Earth, and ME once already destroyed biosphere.
30:21 "Mother Sphere doesn't have to be the good guy for Adam to be the bad guy" Thank you. Every bit of your video is restoring my hope in media literacy. People who say "there is no story" are one thing, but the people who say the story "isn't well-written" are even worse because they never have anything constructive to add, or an instance they can cite where the story's narrative actually obstructs the progression of the narrative. It also doesn't help that people are very hot or cold in regards to the endings. I personally believe that Adam being the Devil as you describe, and this sinner seeking atonement that we are lead to believe, can both be true. He's a mad scientist and a genius at the end of the day, from the get-go he operated in extremes and then came face to face with human extinction from a being he created. From his perspective, he probably couldn't approach it in any other way. I think one undeniable gesture of his sincerity was when he gave Lily the hyper cell before EVE makes her choice. its also clear with the start of his boss fight that he is reluctant to actually fight her. He does so out of an obligation, and in that way, i think he does hold himself accountable by becoming the monster we set out to kill in the first place. Think of how some antagonists will double-down even when there's nothing left to gain or they've already been cornered. Their response is usually like, "I have to keep going, or it was all for nothing", despite knowing they're going to lose anyways. I view Adam's whole ordeal from that angle, it's a very all-or-nothing mindset that i think is extremely human and realistic for the type of person he is detailed as in the data logs, as well as how he's presented to us.
"This game has no story" i'm sick of hearing that people need to stop skiping/talking over every cutscene and for the love of god READ the stuff you pick up. great video
They are just superficial. They didnt even try to dig up deeper into the lore. Even the nano suits and gears has it's own lore based on who or what corpo has fabricated them like ORCA, Tetrastar
Of course it has a story, it’s just not a particularly well written one. There were some interesting elements but not really enough for me. The combat carried tf out of the game.
Really great story that unfortunately just wasn't told well. Shift Up's other game "Nikke: Goddess of Victory", however, has a phenomenal story so I have high hopes for Stellar Blade's sequel and for Shift Up to right their wrongs.
I used to think that fusing with Adam was an allegory for the theme of collaborating with each other instead of perpetuating war, but I never stopped to really listen to what he was saying. Saying things like "we cannot coexist unless we fuse" and "you will fail because you don't have human DNA" is just wrong and perpetuates the idea that one group is superior over the other, which is absolutely faithless and is a mindset that only encourages more conflict to happen. I am now convinced that the ending where you defeat the Elder Naytiba is the one that portrays the theme of collaboration and being anti-war the best. The fact that EVE, despite knowing what Mother Sphere has done, was willing to collaborate, ask questions, and try to come to an understanding rather than antagonizing her right off the bat is proof of this. Great video and great job with the research! Very impressive
While I do agree Adam is evil and has done a lot of evil things, To me it still doesn't really devalue the secret ending where you "side" with Adam. This is because while Adam created the Naytiba, Mother Sphere is the reason why they were created in the first place because she deemed the human of flesh to be inferior. Mother Sphere seems to only want her creation (the Andro Eidos) to be the only humans similar to Adam and how he thinks the Andro Eidos can't replace the humans because of no human DNA. As another comment said " Like father like daughter" Adam and Mother Sphere are too much like for either one of them to stay. Mother Sphere literally has a God complex too since she has the Andro Eidos call her their God, and purposely hides information because she doesn't want any of her creations to defect. So how I see the "Return to the Colony" ending and the Secret ending, is that in the "Return to the Colony" ending you're inherently letting an AI version of Adam complete their mission of wiping out all of the Naytiba which were once human with a lot of them being turned against their will (which I don't like because I don't believe a species as to die for another to thrive.) In the Secret ending, I wouldn't say it's exactly siding with Adam because it's not like Eve and Adam share the same brain when fused it is pretty clear that Eve gets to keep her consciousness while gaining Adam's DNA and powers. Why I think the Secret ending is better because at the end of the day, Adam is gone and Mother Sphere will also be gone (seeing how she's now making herself Eve's enemy for picking a fight) which means that humanity will have a blank slate to start over especially seeing how it was inferred that since Eve is living proof that a Naytiba and Andro Eidos can become one and not give into their primal instinct to kill, what will most likely happen is that Eve will find a way to fuse other Naytiba and Andro Eidos while eliminating the instinct to kill, creating one species where both can live.
Honestly a part of me is reminded of Dr. Leonard Church quote from Red Vs Blue when he was being accused of doing horrific crimes against humanity during Project Freelancer “May I remind you gentlemen we were at war, a war for the very survival of our species against an enemy set on our extermination, when defeat is extinction all alternatives are preferable” this is very much the case by the time humanity was pushed underground by the andro-eidos. And the fact of the matter is, it’s a war that never ended, Andro-eidos is still to this day seeking out to destroy the Naytiba. For all of his many many MANY crimes the question is what happens if he stops? If he saw the inhumanity of what he was doing in the creation of Naytiba, andro-eidos wipes them out, if Eve finds out about who Adam is too early, she attacks him. There is no scenario which Raphel could change after mother sphere becomes sentient and begins war with humanity that doesn’t end extinction level bad, I’m not saying he is a good guy, hell calling him the devil is the nail on the head, but do I think his goal was sincere? Yes……because quite literally there is absolutely nothing left that he views as “human” left on this world beyond the genetic information inside the naytiba, do I think fusing with Adam actually accomplishes what he desired……honestly I have no clue. But Raphel definitely found himself in the mother of all sunk-cost fallacy
Also I’m going to say something that people might disagree with……but part of the reason we accept the androids as human is more heavily their appearance then emotions, if all of the andro-eidos were 7 legged mechanical monsters with a gelatinous core that communicated by making a whirring sounds and clicks, it doesn’t matter how much emotions they express in their way, people would side more with Raphel seeing the Naytiba the last vestiges of humanity that needs to be restored
@sootythunder3111 you're not wrong, but the fact of the matter is humanity is gone. The lack of human DNA in the Andro-Eidos is for all intents and purposes no different than the presence of residual human DNA in the Naytibas. Neither are truly human, yet only one of them act indistinguishable from humans.
@@GrislyGrizz I also think you are attributing Ravens actions too much to Raphael, if you go back and look at the opening scene where Tachy and Eve encounter Raven, straight up Raven flat out ignores Tachy, Tachy only got mutilated because she saw Raven try and dive past her to kill an injuried Eve on the ground. This wasn't some script that Raven and Raphiel were following where he swoops in to protect the injured Eve, if Tachy wasn't willing to jump in front of Ravens strike the ENTIRE plan Raphael had would have been screwed before he even got to meet Eve. I dont know how Alpha Naytiba are truely made or if it is necessary for an elder to be part of its creation. there is just as much evidence to suggest that Raven herself turned Tachy into an Alpha to spite Eve for becoming Adams new favorite as there is for some machavialian scheme on Adams part
@@sootythunder3111 there is also a point where saying Adam orchestrated everything is just reaching comical levels of absurdity too given the circumstances.
Aren't all the endings setting up a sequel? Prying Mother Sphere for questions. Going to war against her. Or creating a new humanity. We know Shift Up wants to make another one.
@crazy13alex it's more accurate to say none of them do. Shift Up didn't make the game with a sequel in mind, it was only considered after the overwhelming success of the game. All 3 endings are more of a definitive end, hence the messages. It's like "the story is done, but the characters continue to exist" kind of thing. With a sequel happening, they have to choose one, it can't be all three. Unless it's a completely new story and set of characters. I don't see that being the case, Return to the Colony was originally the only ending, and it's the most open for the story to continue.
Actuallly all three are possible the suffering a ps2 title did that all three endings are valid you pick the one you want depending on your playthrough in the og game
Since the game is somewhat following bibilical events, the Armageddon and followed by descend of God's angels (this is the ending scene), the next event will be the peaceful era for 10K and followed by the final war between good and evil. You see, the evil wins Armageddon. The angels win the second war. The third war is...
@@GrislyGrizzpersonally I’d prefer if Shift Up make a new game with similar combat and a new style. Stellar blade was amazing but it felt like a trial run for them. I believe Shift Up has the potential to create a perfect game. They’ve got a good eye for art direction, amazing music composers and great world building skills, amazing boss designs and great character designs as well. They’ve proven themselves the skills to make a perfect game.
I think in the 2nd game, Eve will be fighting mostly machines and other angels kinda like Metal Gear Rising. I think the game foreshadows this as well with how you start the game fighting Naytiba that are entirely carbon-based, and slowly, you start fighting more machine variants, and at the end, the true final boss being entirely machine.
I truly hope so. A bit tired of the ugliness of the Naytibas. I think the second game will be better if Eve and Lilly return to the Colony to now find Mothersphere elated at the destruction of the Elder Naytiba and now proceeds to enslave the Andro Eidos. Eve would have to become their liberator but in doing so would be forced to fight against the AE under MS's control. Looking fwd to Part 2.
@@renesingh999 Same, Yet the recent photo mod changed my mind .There are really creepy and disturbing and a lot of details can only be truly appreciated in photo mod. This is a lot of work from the devs, tiny details you simply can't see during normal gameplay. I'll admit that after a while Naytibas can feel somewhat boring. A few of them stand out from the rest, but that's it. Korean artist are great when it come to original mech/machine monster design so i'm sure the second game will feature very cool enemies ...and 300k EVE outfits!! cause we can't have enough of those imright ?
Because they didnt look that deep into the story most likely. Wouldn't be surprised if most peoples' reasoning for concluding that taking Adam's hand is the "good ending" is "Their names are Adam and Eve"...but if you really look into Adam's actions throughout the game, backstory etc. I dont know how anyone can come to the conclusion that taking his hand is in anyway good.
I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve watched this vid by now but I can’t but love this vid. The delivery in a lot of your lines was just pure beauty. Once again great vid…I have it downloaded to my phone now so I can watch it on the train while I’m going back and forth to work and home. Looking forward to more Stellar Blade vids from ya 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Wow! Really gave me a new perspective I didn’t have the chance to notice on my first run through. Now I’m excited for my second playthrough and I can look a little deeper into this twisted lore as we go. Nice!
Tachy's entire alpha naytiba design is completely different from the other alphas because her creation process was not the same as the others. She was turned into alpha naytiba by Raven, not by Adam.
Yep, Raven had a Alpha Core and thrust it into Tachy, making her a alpha naytiba. Though, her severed arm was turned into a weird wing (I would say). And her legs were replaced with mechanic legs. Though-i feel bad because she was the commander of the squad.
@samraines6966 other than the fact there's no *actual proof* Raven did it, I make the point of why from everything you can learn in the game makes it more likely only the elder has the power to create alphas.
@@GrislyGrizz it's still only an assumption from your part and there's no real proof in either direction. What we do have, however, is Raven's dialogue and reactions towards being rejected by Adam, most likely because of how unstable and bloodthirsty and bitter she was towards Mother Sphere after learning the truth about her. It seems to me that as Eve shows up and Adam saves her, Raven goes on to use whatever knowledge she's gotten from Adam to create her own Alpha from Tachy to help her out as she plans to burn down Xion out of pure jealousy. It's also entirely possible that Adam had originally planned on teaming up with Tachy, the next Squadron leader headed to Earth to see if she could be what he had hoped Raven would be, and that's why Raven targeted Tachy specifically. I do agree with you that Adam has done reprehensible things in his past and manipulated Eve throughout the story, but as he says, his intentions towards ending the war and creating a path towards peace were sincere. Taking Adam's hand is the choice left to the player, but rejecting his offer from just pure spite towards him is just shortsighted and emotionally driven. People can change. People can atone for their sins and Adam is clearly trying his hardest. He was one of the main architects of the downfall of mankind and now he is humanity's last hope as a biological species of any kind. And even if you think he's not deserving forgiveness that's entirely meaningless when you are making a decision that will affect the entire future of mankind. Will you acknowledge the bloody, ugly past and try to create something valuable from it or will you discard it entirely and start completely a new, snuffing out the very last vestige that remains of the entire species? Adam has been living for who knows how long by the time the game takes place, and unlike when he was a human he now has a much broader picture of the war and it's causes. Wars never end without sacrifices and Adam is doing what he believes is best for both species, even seemingly sacrificing himself by fusing with Eve. I don't think the forgiveness and atonement he seeks is Eve's but his own.
@samraines6966 true, it is conjecture either way. The problem I have with the 'Raven did it' theory: where is she getting an alpha core from? Did she rob the first national bank of Raphael Marks and break into the core vault? Also it seems like she's been at odds with Adam (despite being obsessed with him regardless) for a lot longer than when the 7th Airborne squad drops.
@@samraines6966 Ya I'm kinda in the same boat as you with this one I think that was more the interpretation I got on my 2nd playthrough, I think you and Grizz are both right to an extent. I think either ending that you choose though still completes Eve's character arc of becoming more human and less mission focused and controlled by what her world view had been for so long. And I don't think what Grizz said about her being some new evil god in the ending where her and Adam Merge. Is accurate as there seems to be no sign of her personality or morals changing. And in both endings she goes to confront Mother Sphere either way just by different methods, and her overlooking all the people of Xion is representing her being the protector of a new age of "humanity" to continue living on knowing the past reprehensible mistakes of Adam and the Black and White view of Mother Sphere.
I think shift up should have included more of the lore through the NPCs so the player would get the depth instead of basically making it optional if you cared to read everything
About EVE and TACHY relationship, i think is more imply this is a sister relationship. EVE mention it to Kaya about knowing someone who she consider as a sister ( i doubt she talking about Lily because they know each other for not that long ) and then EVE talk to the npc who give her a quest to retrive the memory stick of her dead husband, she ask EVE if she know love, and EVE seems to not know what she talking about. To conclude, it is possible that EVE and TACHY have a love relationship, but based of the dialogues of the game and the prequel webcomic, this is more like a sister relationship form what i see. This make me what more a prequel DLC where we can see the life of the colony and more detail of the relationship between EVE and TACHY.
@charlescyborg the thing about that is Eve says she "has someone who is *almost like* a sister." Tachy is a lot more than *almost like* a sister. Has she known Lily for very long? No, but to me, she fits the bill of 'almost like a sister' much more. As for the quest you mentioned, Eve's reaction always sounded more bashful than unfamiliar. In NieR Automata, which Stellar Blade is significantly inspired by, the YoRHa androids are forbidden from feeling emotions (they pretty much all still do regardless) so it's not unlikely the EVE Defense Force has a similar rule, that sometimes is broken.
@@GrislyGrizz@GrislyGrizz thanks for your reply, i see your point and it make sense 👍, even tho this is more a deep sister relationship for me. I personnally need more clear evidence that this is love relationship, and already seen in fiction close relationships like this but that not always mean they are in love, that can be a sibling/friendship with a really close bond.
Commenting a little early, but seeing as I already know the story, and paid attention in game. I think taking Adam's hand is the right choice. I don't believe in ending another species altogether, and seeing as the only other lifeforms we seem to see in-game are fish(MAYBE there were other animals), I don't think ending another species when co-existance is possible is such a bad thing. Adam is morally corrupt, if not evil, sure, and MS definitely a result of Adam, but only Adam risked co-existance. Also at 5:29 contextually Tachy and Eve are two people that 'grew' up together, and their existance was only to know battle. I think caling them a couple, might be a bit of a reach. It's a brother-in-arms kind of thing. In the 100% ending the Andro-eidos still exist despite Adam's distaste for them, and the Naytiba can possibly exist as well. Eve now has the ability to influence harmony. We also don't know what effect Adam's fusion with Eve.
Adam created Mother Sphere. But it's clear the goals were misaligned. People should look into AI misalignment in the real world. We are all going head first into a Mother Sphere situation in reality - perhaps well intentioned, but still misaligned disastrous outcome. Now extend that imagination to an actually psychopathic intention programmed into an AI as powerful as Mother Sphere. That is the likely reality we will face very soon. Scary to the power of 2
I'm surprised this video only has around 500 likes; I knew something was off about Adam's character, but never put more time to dig deeper. Good insight man; this game does have a story, it's just people aren't inclined to figure it out because the game was created by Shift Up. If games made by From Software have stories; this game definitely has a story.
I still can't outright support Mother Sphere ambitions either. The true catalyst behind the initial war between humanity & the Andro-Eidos is still a mystery. Her continuous suppression of information pertaining to the truth is very much intentional, and seemingly designed to drive EVE to complete the EVE Protocol. Fusion brings about that completion, but the reason behind that necessity is an even greater concern.
There is no ending that supports Mother Sphere's ambition tho. Even killing Adam isn't done in accordance to MS, Eve does it because she knows Adam is a lying manipulative POS who's decisions are directly responsible for the dystopian situation they're in. If I'm Eve, I want no involement with Adam, especially if it requires me sacrificing my individuality. She doesn't trust MS either which is why she plans to question her at the end of the non fusion ending.
You make a strong argument but what about the fact the Mother Sphere turned on humans? I always interpreted it as merging with Adam was the lesser of two evils because Eve gained the power of the Elder but kept her own self in the process. At that point she’s powerful enough to bring down mother sphere and cleanse the earth of naytibas and restart the next evolution of humanity. Now I’m not so sure. I think the writers need to release some additional lore so with can know because I loved the story to Stellar Blade and would like to have some solid closure on it.
Short version, because I have a video planned for this topic: Mother Sphere didn't really "turn" on humanity. Humans treated the Andro-Eidos like garbage. Mother Sphere created what are, for all intents and purposes, *better* humans, and humanity saw them as little more than slaves. Raphael had plans to replace Mother Sphere, to her it was a "it's them or us" situation and naturally she wanted to protect 'humanity' the way she was programmed to see it best. I feel like most people see Mother Sphere as evil and Adam as good, or 'lesser evil' despite the fact that she wouldn't exist in the first place had Raphael Marks not created her, is because humans can't relate to an AI. Adam looks human (he isn't) so people are more sympathetic to him. All we hear about Mother Sphere is how 'evil' she is, even though this is mostly through Raven, who is parroting what the Elder Naytiba told her, which surly isn't biased at all. And is Eve *really* "still the same Eve?" In that ending she fused with the man who lied his way to world dominance, manipulated Eve into doing *exactly* what he wants, lying to her the entire story. Is it not within the realm of possibility that Eve saying she's the same Eve is a lie?
@@GrislyGrizz how did humans treat Andro-Eidos? I am interested in the story but I don't have a PS5 so my knowledge is a little broken. I don't doubt Adam is evil, I just wanted to know if humans were really so bad that Mother Sphere would end everyone including surrendering children.
Good video overall, I left one disagreement in a reply to another comment in this video. But I wanted to add one defense for what you said about Raven not dying when her Alpha Core was removed, I think it's because her Alpha core was acting more as an amp of her abilities and that her body didn't rely on that to stay alive as opposed to the other Alpha Naytibas in the game. Her Naytiba appearance even acts as an outside skin protecting her Andro Eidos body inside, rather than completely fusing.
Ok ok this is interesting…very interesting considering I did consider Adam the good guy before but you are kinda opening my eyes right now. Hold on I need to watch the video again. Great vid by the way.
30:26 I know I praised this video earlier, but after finally doing the take Adam's hand ending, I do have a criticism with this section right here. You shouldn't insult people and think you're above them just because they didn't want to do hundreds of hours of research like you did. And I also believe that taking Adam's hand is not as bad as you portray it to be. You say that it's quote on quote "insane" that the majority of players think that taking Adam's hand is the good ending, but do you really believe this to be insane? Let me put this into perspective, the "Take Adam's Hand Ending" is portrayed as the most grand and hype ending in the game. It is also an ending where EVE comes back to Xion AS HERSELF (Not Adam because there is absolutely zero proof that ANY of Adam's character traits got infused into EVE's personality, in fact, the game actually has EVE deny this by saying that it's still her) and is portrayed as a hero in the end that fights for peace. Secondly, EVE taking Adam's hand IS NOT an admission from EVE that she fully agrees with his perspective, in fact, she contradicts his words WHILE deciding to take his hand. Adam says that EVE doesn't have human DNA meaning that she cannot succeed as a species, this is a terrible mindset, but EVE WHILE TAKING HIS HAND disagrees with this notion. She implies that the Andro-Eidos and Naytiba are no more human than the other, meaning that she believes they are equals and that they both have the right to live. This means that EVE taking Adam's hand is ONLY for the sake of saving both species, NOT because she agrees with his superiority mindset. I think that overall, both endings portray positive themes despite how evil Adam was. I think your mistake here is saying the "majority" of players because think about it, the average player did NOT put in hundreds of hours of research like you did, you can't just insult people for not knowing Adam's full past, especially when reading his past is ENTIRELY optional.
You're right, the majority of *all* players probably are lacking information. My statement stems from numerous online discussions with others who have the same knowledge I do, and still see siding with him as *objectively* good. I'm not insulting them, I'm saying *the fact* they know the real truth about Adam and still think siding with him is 'good' is insane. Yeah, honestly I do. I just don't buy that the man who used his corporate monopoly to control the public, private militaries to *genocide* his enemies, aspired to conquer the world by forcing people into positions that benefit him and his megacompany cartel, who, after his first AI, that *he* programmed without safety protocols, went 'evil' and started killing humans, he created another AI to experiment on humans, once more disregarded safety protocols, and wanted total control over them, which caused what remained of humanity to go completely extinct, could be 'sincere' about trying again. It's lies, lies, and more lies with him. He wanted total control over humanity. When that backfired, he wanted total control over his upgraded humans. *That* backfired and I'm supposed to believe this time he's sincere about saving everybody? Nah.
@ thank you for the reply but did you even read my entire comment? I never once asked you to believe that Adam was being sincere in any way, in fact, I said he was wrong for what he said even while offering his hand. He’s a horrible person. All I said was that EVE taking his hand DOES NOT mean that she fully agrees with his perspective or ways of life. She only did it because she saw both species as species that deserve life. She literally disagreed with his words WHILE taking his hand. I don’t understand why you went on this tangent about Adam being a horrible person when I literally never disagreed with that notion..
@@GrislyGrizz Got it. But now I have to question, do you really think that taking Adam's hand is "siding with Satan"? EVE never agreed with Adam's past actions or his mindset, she only took his hand in order to save both human species that she saw as worth living. EVE taking Adam's hand isn't siding with the Satan, it is more akin to using Satan for the greater good of the world and to prevent the most deaths' possible and to keep a dying species alive. This is even more highlighted by the fact that EVE is STILL EVE after the fusion. To me, there is zero implication that Adam has any control over the fused body. Wouldn't you rather that a part of the human race gets to live on rather than die off? Your interpretation that taking Adam's hand is siding with Satan relies HEAVILY on Adam having control over the fused body, which there is zero implication that he does. There are more implications that EVE has full control over the fused body than not.
@KingdomKeyJT whether she agrees with him or not is irrelevant. Taking his hand is choosing his side. I've seen enough films, played enough games, and read enough books to know that making a deal with the devil *never* works in your favor. Sure, she says she's "still the same Eve." But she's now fused with the man who lied his way to world domination, manipulated Eve to do *exactly* what he wants, his entire persona is a lie. Think about it. Is it conjecture to disbelieve "still the same Eve" is really still Eve? Sure, but you can't tell me beyond a reasonable doubt it's true either.
Tbh I didn't choose to side with Adam because I think he's a good guy or anything but because it just felt right at the time and having the original humans somewhat live on just seemed like the closest thing to coexistence they could get.
This is very inaccurate assessment Adam introduced the truth to Eve and allowed her to make her own decision, he stood aside before thinking that Mother Eve would do the right thing and she order the Extermination of Humanity. What makes you think that Adam can identify himself to Eve from the start as the Alpha and tell her that her entire existence is wrong and she should side with him? That's why killing Adam he says with his death comes the extinction of humanity, Mother Eve will then declare Andro Ados as the new Human Race with herself as their God and completely under her control.
I refuse to believe that any other ending fits the story except for "Return to the Colony". It perfectly sets up the story for a sequel and frees Eve from both Mother Sphere & Raphael Marks. Both of them are evil and I don't understand how anyone could think otherwise. The character that truly deserves a redemption arc is Raven. She is the one who suffered the most because of Raphael. It would be really cool to see her and Eve join together in the sequel to create a faction of enlightened Andro-Eidos that can take on Mother Sphere and maybe even find a cure to reverse the Naytiba experiments. The possibilities are endless with Returning to the Colony. Lastly, if Adam wanted to be apart of Eve so badly, why didn't he just sacrifice his essence to Lily by having her create a super weapon made of himself? It was already established that Lily can do this with Tachy mode. Why did he HAVE to merge with Eve and take away her identity; especially when Eve is finally starting to understand who she is? It's ridiculous and a fat slap to the face to have us follow the story of Eve becoming human-like in order to support mankind to then have that taken away by merging with this pathetic pseudo-savior. Adam had two chances to make things right and failed both times. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. Let Eve stand on her own merits.
People tell me the this game's story is non-existent. LOL. Great video man. Now I'm questioning... On my first playthrough, I refused his hands, because my guts tell me to refuse. Partly I was afraid I had to fight Lily and kill her. I care about Lily more than Adam. But everyone is saying taking his hand leads to the best ending... I think a lot people think taking Adam's hand is the good ending because the game makes it feel like it's the best ending, with Lily inserting the last hyper cell, and everyone's happy in Xion. Hmmmmmm...... Bottomline is : Can't wait for the sequel !! Again ! Great video !!
My first playthrough reading everything and paying attention to the story, when Adam asked Eve to take his hand, I said, "Oh fuck no!" out loud. My gut told me everything about him was wrong. I'm curious to see where the story goes from here. This is easily my game of the year.
@ashenthornwolf my best friend screen shared the last bit of the game, we were in a party and when he got to the end while Adam is giving his BS speech, my friend was going "no" "no thanks" "uh uh" "I better be able to reject him" I was biting my tongue trying not burst out laughing 🤣
Very interesting! I did see a video like this but more directed at mother sphere and how she plotted to evolve or replace humans by eliminating those with flesh. Which triggered Raphael’s desperate plan to just turn themselves into monsters. Anyway, it was a good watch. The story of Stellar Blade is interesting but feels so fractured and hard to really figure out. I think both sides are bad. It was humanity in the first place that created mother sphere so maybe moreso humanity’s fault. I think some of the lore does mirror their other game Nikke though! Basically humanity escaped to the underground due to the invasion of mechanical beasts called Raptures. They use, lie to, and manipulate androids called Nikkes to fight against the raptures while they hide. Turns out Raptures can corrupt Nikkes using a corruption code that started out as something humans could understand, the Queen responsible for reproducing raptures located in Nikke’s space elevator looked very man made, and the underground city known as the Ark has similarities to rapture nests. In the end humans screwed themselves, have a god complex by trying to create better versions of these new life forms which probably result in creations that backfire on them and are failing to take responsibility and makes you not feel bad about the extinction of the human race.
@TakiGamesOfficial thanks! Yeah, there really are no 'good guys' in the story. Contrary to popular opinion though, I find Mother Sphere to be less at fault than most people do. I have a video planned for her, but that will be some time down the line. Raven is next... I knew nothing about Nikke, interesting it's almost the same plot 😆
Excellent video my friend. Choosing Adam never sat well with me and I'd admit I didn't read every scrap of lore, which clearly shows Adam as the devil. Mothersphere isn't benevolent, but her goals more closely align with the preservation of humanity. Again excellent video and the premise is 1000% agreed.
The sound track to this game was on the level of Nier. 🔥🔥🔥 I also wanna ask isn't taking Adams hand better because now EVE get's to make a better future compared to Mother Sphere who will end everything even though Adam is definitely the bad guy as well?
@kenshin391 imho the soundtrack surpasses NieR. Not necessarily, as mentioned toward the end of the video, this "new future" doesn't even happen. At least as far as we see. And Mother Sphere won't destroy everything, from everything I've read and inferred in-game, she will stop when the Elder (and the remaining Naytibas) are destroyed. What's next? I'm not certain, probably rebuilding Earth.
@@GrislyGrizz Mother Eve declared humanity as obsolete and started her extermination of humans, she wants the Elder dead because killing him would bring humanity to and end immediately, you seem to think Adam fighting back because he doesn't want to see humanity extinct is a bad thing and that he should just give up and do nothing about it. Mother Sphere cannot rebuild anything other than deceive Andro Ados to continue to believe that they are and have always been the human race. Andro Ados is not even allowed to know anything about a Biological Human being in the game it even tells you that anyone who looks into Biological Humans will be declared an Enemy of Mother Sphere.
I honestly didn't look at it this way. First ending I got was me killing Adam. Then I replayed for the "True" ending merging and Lily lives. turns out personally the true ending was the first one I got
A really stupendous analysis of the story~! I do appreciate that Adam is the imperfect representation of the biblical father of the firstborn humans, Cain and Abel, who of course go on to commit the first murder. Much like how Adam is the progenitor of the Naytiba/mother sphere and thus the killers of humanity in a sense.
Fun to listen. Honestly, I don’t think any of the endings felt really “good”. Adam felt off the whole time to me, and mother sphere does not correctly fulfill the role of “God” because she does not function based on morality, but practicality. I do believe that Raphael Marks is way too egotistical, however, I believe this to be the typical nature of scientists. They tend to struggle with morality as they care more about the learning process and their own goals rather than what is correct. With all this known, I would still say to take his hand. I disagree that andro-eidos are as human as organic humans. When I was playing initially, I maxed Lili and got to the endpoint choice. Neither felt good, but I took the hand. Interesting video.
@spunkyknups8864 it's in a building not far from the start of Eidos 9. This is the v2 version, if you didn't pre-order then you'll get a different one the first time you open the box.
Even Raffy seemed horrified by what Raphael was ordering it to do. And knowing all this, it's so irritating to see him playing dumb all the time. You can't trust someone who has been gaslighting you the whole time. At least now we can hide his face with the Emil mask lol
Did Adam create mother sphere? If so why? To start the war? What exactly was his plan? Can you make a video deticated to explain fully Adams Plan and moves he made to achieve it?
@@manostororosso2364 pretty much all of that is explained in the first 5 minutes of this video. I'm working on videos about Raven and Mother Sphere, both of which inherently have more to say about Adam.
Wow, way to make me regret my decision. I knew I saved New Game+ for a reason. I'm going through the game again right now on NG+, getting the Nier stuff, too. Looks like I'm taking this shite bag down this time around! Great video btw!
since shift up is yoko taro simp the true ending is going to be eve against the space colony, an attempt to resurrect humanity is what sequel do but space colony actually bigger than the prolog show, from beginning naytiba never had a chance to win the war
It's basically a story of Zerg vs Protoss. Given the capability of Mother Sphere, not sure if she can exterminate the Naytiba if it's as contagious as it is portrayed. Even if she glassed the planet the Naytiba probably still survives as soon as any of the Andro-Eidos tries to populate it again. Best she glass Earth so it'll be lifeless forever and quarantines it. But not sure how that squares with her programmed goal of serving the 'future of humanity' tho.
So uhhh i watched the video and i have so much to unpack. First off. I'm actually happy to see this video and see another POV to the story. On another, Adams point about DNA is not really as big of an argument since thats just subjective. Youve clearly been proven in every single argument that thats false. But technically hes also right. Because if you're only looking at biology and DNA, then Adam is completely right. But if they take into who thet are as a person then youre right in that they truly became humans. On another note this now gave me even bigger appreciation for their naming. Because i loved how it was shown. Adam and by correlation Shift up completely fooled us. Adam, Eve, Lily(Lilith). By naming it like this they already gave the impression to players, especially the ones very familiar with this that we should trust Adam implicitly. The ending though, i feel i might disagree, i think both sides are parts of Free Will. Because either way, there will be consequences. Its just one or the other. But realistically i think Raven played a huge role in this. Raven eliminated Tachy. I 100% agree this was done by Adam. Because unlike Lily, Tachy had more influence on Eve. Meaning had Tachy lived Eve would be harder to convince. You made a great point about why should they believe Raven in the end. I think its because at that point, Eve's faith was already shaken. They have confirmations that humans and Naytibas are the same, and the fact that Mother Sphere outright prevents their Andros Eidos from accessing anything related to the old humanity. All of these points prove to erode Eve's already dwindling trust. Overall, really great video i still do have some minor disagreements here and there but I did see Adam in a new light now. Great video. Btw- KR dub is so much better in that Raven confrontation. She sounds more unhinged and crazed, compared to how she appeared in her legacies. You could have used this to emphasize Adam as a villain by using this compare and contrast to show how he had eroded Raven's sanity, as well as why he made sure to play it more safe with Eve by nudging her here and there rather than slamming it in her face like they did with Raven since her voice doesn't sound as unhinged as it does on English than it does in the original Korean dub.
Youve given a pretty compelling argument, the story is deeper than I thought. I just rolled with the overt narrative of Mother sphere being the main bad guy. Knowing what I do now, I dont have much hope for the sequel's story being able to wrap all this up in a satisfactory way. Im calling it now, we're going to have some retcons and a bunch of story swept under the rug.
I know many of us are used to video game tropes at this point as far as good and bad guys but even 1 hour into playing this game if you look at it blind it is far too coincidental for Adam to just happen to be around to help Eve. As far as some people thinking he is really trying to change I certainly can not trust him after everything we find in data logs but I would not say its not possible. Just EXTREMELY not probable. Even if he is trying to legit change for the better, his old ways are still corrupting him to do terrible things. After taking quite a while to read all the data logs, given what we know about the world of Stellar Blade not really having a true god in their universe at this point I do not see how it is possible that he has been convicted enough to try to genuinely change while still being that wicked with the other things he has done in the past years after humanity had to go into hiding. I refuse to believe someone with any moral compass would make such evil decisions to survive and not come up with a better solution. He really is a power hungry manipulator. My first playthrough even when I was not piecing everything together and remembering every data log I still did not trust him. Only reason I took his hand twice was for the Platinum trophy. From what I understand, many people agree on taking Adams hand and saving Lilly to be the true ending. If that is true it makes me interested in how Shiftup will continue the story. If we are right and Adam really is this manipulative, I do not see him just sacrificing himself and disappear from existence when Eve fused with him. I would not be surprised if he had a plan for him to take over Eve's body at some point in the second game after she does certain things. How much of a twist would that be if we were playing the sequel with no direct mention of Adam other than his "sacrifice" being mentioned a time or two and then near the end of the game something happens and he takes over Eve to try to world dominate once more. You did a great job pointing out a lot of Adams flaws and this video was quite interesting. Well done Grisly Grizz. Have a good day and I will be looking for more Stellar Blade content from ya if your up for it.
One thing is that I wonder if Raven attacking Xion was part of this plan. He definitely meant for Eve to fight her and take her Alpha Core, but I think he meant that to be her last core instead of Oracle, not expecting the Demogorgon core to be lost in space. Plus sinse she attacked and defeated Oracle, her rampage could have jeperdized the Cradle. But I think he left to go deal with it, then decided that her ramage would be a good way for Eve to get her core anyway, and even if Raven jepordized the Cradle, it was a setback that could be rectified later.
@mechagod8107 I don't think it was part of the plan. It's just strange that it happens now. From what I can tell, their schism happened *years* ago, but Raven only figured out where Xion is recently? Or she always knew and just killed the other Eve's on drop, so she never had a reason to attack before.
There's no black and white in the real world. I love the fact that, especially after you fleshed out the other side of the argument, that this is also true in Stellar Blade. Did Adam lie to his teeth and caused massive atrocities as a byproduct of his actions? Absolutely. Did Mother Sphere also lie to her teeth and caused massive atrocities deliberately for her purposes? Absolutely. The better question is to ask about intentions. What is Mothersphere's intention vs Adam's intentions? Sometimes consequences are relatively more forgivable (but not absolutely forgivable) if it's set out by the right intentions. As no one, not even Mothersphere can predict all consequences. Just as you said "Mother Sphere doesn't have to be the good guy for Adam to be the bad guy". The reverse is also true. Besides, whom is good or bad has no bearing on whether to take Adam's hands or not. Only the consequences do. And for surely, EVE had to choose based on limited information, as we all do now. The real right decision at that point is to neither accept, nor to kill Adam. There's simply insufficient information to make an informed decision. How would post fuse Adam/Eve be as an individual? How do Adam himself even know how it works? Even if post merge Adam/Eve becomes a god more powerful than whatever Mothersphere can throw at them, how does it create a new species of humanity? What are the ripple implications of all this. None of the ending are definitively good or bad if we have to consider all the butterfly effects beyond whats shown in the game. And that loops us back to intentions vs consequences. If it's impossible to predict all consequences, based purely on intention albeit limited information, should Adam's hands be taken or not? That's the real question. It'd be more of a god complex to judge the outcome of other's actions, including that of Adam's, instead of his intentions. As only those whom have never sinned can cast the first stones. And those with perfect ability to predict be allowed to judge regarding Nth order consequences. Based on whats presented in game so far, I choose to trust Adam's intention to be mostly good. And the objective of Mothersphere to be misguided. Her reclassification of humanity is not the intention Adam had when he created Mother Sphere. It's a classic case of AI misalignment - and shall this be a forewarning to us all as we venture into the realms of AGI and ASI ourselves in the real world.
A few counter points, based on in-game dialogue Raven went off script after Adam saved Eve and forcably made Tachy into an Alpha based off the fact Orcal tells us that he possesed an Andro-Eidos to become an Alpha(the "first"), that leads me to believe Adams offer to Eve to fuse and let her become the new leader of humanity 3.0 was genuine as the Neytiba seem to posses the universal ablility to take over Andro-Eidos body's alive(Orcal) near death(Tachy) or dead(Matrix 11) had Adam been truely commited to simply reviving Humanity under his own rule I seriously doubt he would not be above taking Eve's body for his own reguardless of her choice, and Mother Sphere based on what we know calculated what Raphael and humanity would do and also what Eve's choices would be it would be a very safe bet that whatever comes next for the story will focus on Mother Sphere trying to either control or eliminate Eve now.
You are partly right and wrong. Raven was filled with hate and vengeance when she learned of what MS was up to. She joined RM to fight against MS. Ravens hatred towards Eve was because RM abandoned Raven and picked Eve. RM the last Human eventually accepted all of his mistakes. Cresting MS, then creating the Naytibas. He kept screwing things over and making things worse. Even Raven was his fault. He took a gamble with Eve for a possible better future. He wanted to give the Andro-Eidos in Xion a chance to live free. But the final choice was not something he could make. Raven turning Tachy into an Alpha was to push Even down the same path as her in hopes RM would abandon Eve. Raven is out of her mind and no longer suitable for anything other then destruction. MS has a preferred choice which would see all Naytibas dead. The problem with MS is that it doesn't care for the people. As long as they can evolve. So even the Andro-Eidos are expendable. Lastly I don't agree Adam was manipulating everything. He held back information but he didn't betray anyone. He never made his own objectives clear, only agreed he will help Eve hunt down the Alphas. The whole situation spiraled so far out of control and so much stuff happened that saving Humanity is no longer an option. Adam found a different path. One the MS was fully aware of but didn't want.
@Meh-el1ej "You... You've taken so much from me... In exchange... I'll allow you to witness the end." Eve left Raven alive as torment, Raven has been immobilized; she cannot fight, she cannot do anything, and she will be alive to witness Eve kill the Elder that she so vehemently worships.
Good analysis. I think that Adam is trying to right his wrongs, but only in the way that an irredeemable person would. Otherwise, he wouldn't be willing to sacrifice himself- he wants to pass on his overwhelming guilt, so it is still a selfish goal. UA-camr Dave Cullen did an analysis on the live action Ghost in the Shell recently, and it adds insight to this really well. Humans playing God by changing things which ought not to be changed with the hubris of 'upgrading' them, ultimately destroy the beauty and essence of such things. I would say that while beauty and essence linger on in the andro-eidos and naytiba respectively, neither one is human. One is a trace, and the other a shadow. Andro-eidos are programmed to behave like humans, and if all we are defined by are our emotions and memories, then humans can be reduced to memory sticks as andro-eidos often are... I also got the 'bad' ending. But I wish there was a plot thread introducing the hope of reviving humanity, despite all Raphael and co did to destroy it.
Bro really just ruined the secret ending for me but in a good enlightening way. This video made me appreciate the game's story a lot more because I guess like other people I was just swept up by Adam's sweet talking and should have payed more attention to the written logs and Adam's sus behaviour.
I knew mothersphere was evil after reading some texts and propaganda posters in xion. And the scene where raven told the truth about mothersphere this makes everyone shocked even Lily. I got a guy feeling that they're evil from the start.
you have a point dude literally destroyed humanity and earth in the process. He is the devil in disguise! Damn! yea the cannon ending should be kill that foo he's demonic AF! Hopefully a lot of ppl see this video you make a great points. Adam set the entire thing up start to finish from the time you fight Raven (Unidentified Naytiba) corrupt Tachy and the End trying to get you to merge with him.
Wait so the way this story is described does this mean that this whole time I’ve been playing messed up Christianity with booty and jiggle physics simulator?
Do you really believe Eve can survive Mother Sphere on her home ground? Lets first answer a question: For the entire game, how many times did you die and revive at camp? Do you think Mother Sphere will be nice enough to let you set up a camp (which you might not even have the ability to do so as those were all set up by prior squads) to revive after you fail to pass lets say a tunnel with fifty turrets? Do you think Mother Sphere will be nice enough to not direct her minions to attack and keep attacking you just to grind down your potions? Do you think Mother Sphere will be nice enough to provide you with ammo points as well as purchases of WB pumps, grenades, etc? This is not considering whether Mother Sphere has a stock of Providence suits just waiting to use the insta-kill while you're trying to shoot 6 wings per suit before they get it off. Once she lands at the colony, she is dead. She is NOT in fusion form where you could at least say she has no health bar, she is just another andro-edios, though upgraded and has a HEALTH BAR. As for trusting Raven, no one just trusts her words. The actions of Mother Sphere speaks for themselves. Mother Sphere doctrine, dropping colony modules, refusing connection and the biggest and most obvious. Trying to kill Eve in the other 2 endings No one thinks Adam is some angel, like Raven mentioned, Eve is just a pawn on a twisted chessboard and only Adam's road gives her a chance of existing even though he might still be in some corner of her mind
@@_Victus_ A diversion naw, they just know how to do Fanservice and have it flow together with the story nicely, but honestly this isn’t nothing new with games it’s always been a thing.
@Slacker28 there's a lot of debate about that. A friend of mine made the argument she's surprised it got there so fast. A lot of people seem to think the Colony has a cloaking device or something, even if it did why would we be using giant drop ships at the beginning? Looks like the 7th had a long way to travel before dropping. Plus during the final war, naytibas made their way up a spire and corrupted part of the Colony, which caused Mother Sphere to drop it, and the Colony extinction event happened. It's entirely reasonable think she would move it *away* from earth until the naytiba threat is neutralized.
@@GrislyGrizz She has a energy shield around the Earth, Eve triggered it in the final fight in space, so there is little need to move the colony. Still if Eve returned to Mother Sphere she will most likely have her memory wiped that the rest of the android race and mother sphere will clone the elder with the blood stored in her sword. Interesting video painting Adam as the bad guy and you are right he is responsible but still think Mother Sphere is the big bad because she is in the end the one that betrayed the organic human race and lied and manipulated the synthetic human race practically enslaving them, while Adam was trying to help both and I belave accidently released the Natabya as a result of mother sphere's attack. Please let me know what you think I love talking about Stellar Blade especially with opposing view points!!
@Slacker28 that's not Mother Sphere's doing. The demogorgon is blocking communication with the Colony. That's why when it is destroyed you can see the 'field' break. And there's still no Colony in the sky, if it didn't have to move at all you would be able to see that from the ground. I cover why Eve isn't getting memory wiped near the end of the video.
I’ve seen all 3 endings of this game but every time I played after that I still choose taking Adam’s hand for many reasons. 1 my eyes of course were closed at the time so I was always “Team Adam” 2 strangely fighting the “Providence” boss in a way easier especially since I wasn’t very familiar with the “ Elder Naytiba” attack patterns and 3 because of my ignorance I really grew to hate “Mother Sphere”…but I’ve been in that “Boss Challenge” practicing those patterns. I’m pretty familiar with the “Elder Naytiba” now. I can’t wait to get home from work Sunday night so I can finish my playthrough which Ive been working on constantly kill this guy moving forward. “Mother Sphere” maybe a psycho AI bitch but this degenerate of a character “Adam” “Raphael Marks” whatever he wants to fucking call himself made this AI and it’s time for him to die. Once again great 👍🏾 vid. Keep up the good work.
😂 great catch figuring out Adam was dirty. I aint trust him off his look & attitude but when he said to not open that disk i knew he was up to something.
So there are the two endings, choose his hand or not, fuse with him or not, which i feel has some darker unshown side effects. Eve feels fine, but i think that's because Adam is taking a backseat but will eventually fight her for control of the body. Adam is a naytiba right so he's bad, so while yes, Eve is told to hunt naytibas by mother sphere, i think the best ending is Eve breaking free from both Mother Sphere and Adam. I think Adam was just trying to save his own ass at the end so he was like, "Fuse with me, and you technically kill the elder naytiba". Eve standing on the globe at Xion is also like she's acting like a megalomaniac God. Im working my way to do my third ending of below 70% Lily progress. Also what's your understanding of the end credits saying " their journey continues " when you join Adam and "the journey for truth continues" when you kill adam? Also you get the symbol of legacy for choosing Adam, the earring says "A seed of the new mankind to come, and the harbinger of salvation for all". Hmm. Maybe. What if Adam is a changed man, and he HAD to lie to Eve, because I mean she was obedient to mother sphere, so he had to lie to get her to see the truth of things. I mean yeah he brought it upon himself and humanity but if the game is insinuating he relinquishes control to Eve when they fuse then cool but if he's still in Eve subconsciously or consciously it could be bad.
@MyLifeMyShou yeah, he lied his way to world dominance, manipulated Raven to his will so egregiously she lost all semblance of reason, lies to Eve the *entire* game. Surly if Eve fuses with the pathological liar, when asked if she's still the same Eve, the answer *must be* honest. Suuuuuurrrrre.
@GrislyGrizz it could be that the creator/director didn't know how to nuance that it's an evil ending and maybe that's why people don't realize it is. So there's the choose Adam ending, the alone ending, and then there's the "choose lily" ending. I don't see why doing all the quests would ever be a bad ending. I would deduce the lily 100% but don't choose Adam ending is the correct one.
@withertempestprime8718 I had it slightly spoiled for me, I heard what had to be done to get 'the best/true/canon' ending. And I was just "*this* is the best ending?" Then I saw the alternative for myself and realized instantly how much better it is.
Biblical references. Adam and Eve. If everything you said here tracks, then I guess if he was named Lucifer, it would've been too obvious. Either way, the PC port can't come soon enough.
Great video. I just came across it today. I finished the game about two weeks ago(Platinum the game), and man, I tell you this game is more than boobs and ass. From the very beginning, I did understand the biblical references, but the game is deep. I'm playing it again because why not, I need to collect everything. There are some memory sticks I missed.
From with Adam or Mother Sphere human civilization was screwed at the end of the day. Sadly Pawns of a chess game that has gone too far more matter what ending you got
Do you have to be so unforgivably mean & cruel to Adam? He had good intensions as we see in the "Save Xion & Fuck Mother Sphere" Ending [That's what I choose to call it] with Lily surviving, of course! We see that he was true to his word and Eve is still the same person even after the fusion.
Bro really hate Adam for no reason, lol. You should know that mother sphere didn't care about anyone in the final wars. Only few selects get to the colony which called heavens royalty, the rest were left to die. Adam no longer interested in destroying them all, since he isn't a maniac. He just want an equilibrium between machines and humans, as he intended to be when he created MS. And since the andro eidos lose faith to MS, Adam rescued them all including his first weapon, Orcal, and let them live in Xion. Notice how he try to separate Naytiba from Andros? That's the furthest plan he can do for now, that's why he need Eve as the bridge between them both. He ain't care to play god. He hides from everyone. Xion hates the elder since they thought he is the main enemy, and the lesser the Naytiba, the senseless they will be, meaning, Adam can't interact with them, they all pure rage and instinct. He can't control anyone. His only followers were just Orcal and Raven. He isn't trying to play god, he just want to repopulate the earth while removing MS influence from anyone. Also, it is implied that there are more Alphas than we know. Orcal directed Eve to the closest one. You should also realize that our Eve is not the only Eve exist. Our Eve comes from the 7th squad, there are 6 Eve that has been killed before ours, 6 failed protocols including Raven and Lily's. The proofs is at Raven's costume, Eve's code is written on sternum part. It's either Raven killed the previous Eve, or she just take it from killed Eve. The Alphas killed by previous protocol should be reproduced by then
@chakravartin3356 "for no reason" lmao did you watch more than 2 minutes? If it's implied there are more alphas, then how could half a world away, *and then up into space* be the closest? Yes, I know all about the airborne squads. You should know that they're part of the EVE Defense Force. Raven didn't kill the 2nd's Eve, she wasn't brainwashed yet. All their gear has EVE inscribed somewhere on it.
@@GrislyGrizz yeah, i skipped after Adam is a liar part, lol. I appreciate the analysis, but using those part to proves he is lying give me a headache. I mean, yeah he is lying. But for other reason. When he said he never met another member squad other than her, if i were him, i would lie to her too. He just met with her like, few hours, and then telling everything is too naive, especially knowing airborne squad are stubborn with their mission. Expecting him to just telling the truth is wild to me, lol Yes, there are, or it can be reproduced/resurrected. I mean, we fought Gigas twice should be enough evidence for it. He already lost the core implying he is the same gigas that we fought earlier. The word Eve on every costume is different from Raven's costume. You should be able to separate game and lore. Raven's costume is not the same as those bikinis that Eve's wear for fun. Tachy and Lily's costume has no word Eve in it. But Raven's equipment, even her sword has. The word EVE itself using all capital letters instead of just the first letter like normal name, implying it is more a code than a name
@chakravartin3356 regardless of the reason, lying is still lying. None of the other alphas rematerialize, and why would it still have the damage? This game is littered with reused assets. Like you said: *You should be able to separate game and lore* No, it's literally the same EVE on all the diving suits and most of the rest. Lily doesn't have 'EVE' on her? Really? Check the writing on the back of her outfit. It says "EVE 05" i.e. EVE Defense Force Airborne Squad 05.
Oooooh my god am such a stupid Like finishing the game 2 times and didn’t even notice he is that bad and lying!!!!!! Whaaat the heeeeellllll Am in my third finish as am going to the orbit tomorrow am not gonna take his hand if that makes any difference I just thought that keeping everyone alive is the good ending i never read lores so that was stupid from me
Well, taking Adam’s hand *is* the only way to acquire the fourth Hyper Cell. As long as Lily survives, she returns it to the Fusion Drive and enables everyone who “slept” in the Cradle (whether voluntarily or by force) to wake, essentially restoring Xion. So yeah, that’s the good ending. It’s also silly to think EVE will have any semblance of control when confronting Mother Sphere in the alternate scenario, either. MS is the true god in that world and she demonstrates the extent of her will when she remotely executes Luther just as he is on the cusp of discovering the actual truth.
@GuiltyGaming ah, so making a deal with the devil to turn his lab rats into a new species that totally won't backfire with his track record constitutes 'good.' Sure. That's the second time I've heard somebody make that claim. However, contact with the Colony is still cut off. Mother Sphere can't do anything on Earth until the Demogorgon is defeated. What killed Luther is unknown, but it *could not* have been Mother Sphere.
@ “His” lab rats? There are no humans left. Everyone in Xion is Andro-Eidos-which were *Mother Sphere’s* creations. You would think Adam wouldn’t give a shit about the “people” of Xion, considering they were made explicitly to replace *his* people. To your second point, true-so why the fear of violating the Mother Sphere Doctrine at the Hall of Records? If she and the Colony are so segregated from Earth, why would Luther and D1g-g2r even attempt connecting to the NETWORK in the first place? Credit where it’s due, at least someone around here noticed the map and Spire IV being off Australia’s coast. I wrote a post about it months ago, but I don’t think anyone around here has given that map any thought.
@GuiltyGaming watch the 'Orcal and the Cradle' chapter. I don't think anybody knows why the network is down/can't be contacted, it's not til we get there that Lily figures it's the alpha causing the disruption.
Both antagonists (i think Adam and Mother Sphere are antagonists of this story) has their ground and right on its own, so Eve must choose lesser evil. In my playthrough i chose Adam, as he in weaker position and tries to fix consequences of his deeds. And i think, if you read books ingame, making side-quests you understand that he is lesser evil (still evil) (he has passion, and actually human, which can make mistakes), while ME are cold supercomputer, which OK to destroy not only humanity but biosphere of planet.
I’m taking ravens answers as gospel, Luther had a few questions also and looked how that turned out for him and everyone else who questioned mothersphere
I think it's still the good option to fuse with adam. EVE has the possibility of not being a POS with her new gained power. The new emotions she felt prove that andros aren't human enough to kill off all human remnants. EVE could be the right person to take Adam's spot, he's gone either way so why not let someone with better motives take over.
@yoteskote5892 the important thing to remember is there are no human remnants. Humanity *is* extinct. The Naytibas are no longer human, Adam may look human, but he isn't. Not anymore. Also, am I *really* supposed to believe the man who lied his way to world domination, manipulated Eve to do *exactly* what he wants, lied about everything, is just gonna disappear? He's not gonna have any influence in this 'one body' at all? Sure, definitely 🤨
I understand the point you're making, but as you say "Mother sphere doesn't have to be the good guy for Adam to be the bad guy", the opposite is also true. According to the logs, Mother Sphere is the one that started a war against biological humanity, and it also knows the whole story but not only did it not pass it on to it's creations as it forbids anyone from researching about "biological humans". Neither were good, and both lied, but in all honesty, when it comes down to war/massacre, I'd rather stand with the ones on the defensive. Also, this game is heavily inspired by Nier Replicant and Automata, and in both the theme of "everything is a lie, nobody is good".
It’s a good video, but a strongly bias one. I think that you actually despised Adam character, so you actually made him far far more evil than he was actually imply to be in the narrative and on the other hand pretty much downplay mother sphere sins by like a 99,9%. I mean everything he had done she had done but worst, and while it can be at least argue that he feel some remorse, is blatant that MS don’t give a s**t…
@@marcobellanti1786 Adam created Mother Sphere. Adam programmed Mother Sphere. Adam fired all his AI engineers and disabled her safeguards. Everything "she had done" only happened in the first place because of him.
@@GrislyGrizz Yea, whatever is not my point. Aside that I don’t remeber this information that he disable all the safeguard (I mean I remember that she still have restriction, like the fact that she was programmed with betterment of humanity as a principle and others and she can’t go against them), but no matter what this fact described him as arrogant… not evil. They are two completly different things, because you are litteraly washing MS hands from all responsability, while the game is, again, blatantly clear that she decide what her obiective means, implying that she has some degree of free will and so she could have stop herself. But she didn’t and she use this her modus operandi. If nothing, MS is all the worst of Raphael without any capacity for compassion, regret or anything. Was stupid for him to create this thing? Maybe or maybe not. Was arrogant of him to not restrict her far far more? Absolutly! He is a flawed character? Yes! This is the point, the game is his redemption arc as much as the journey of eve as a person. But you can in no way say that he is solely responsible for the decision making of another indipendent being. In this sense you are absurdly bias and it’s clear in many point, for example tachi’s trasformation one…
@marcobellanti1786 "Mother Sphere develops her own AI. Who's responsible? Another AI engineer? No, they were all fired. Are we really safe with an AI without safeguards?" -The Truth Article 5 (featured in this video) He is absolutely arrogant, you're right. He also *is* evil. Trying to control humanity is evil. Ethnic cleansing of people is evil. Manipulating Eve to his will and sacrificing his 'creations' so she can decide for herself with zero external swaying whatsoever that he's actually a gOoD pErSon, is evil. Redemption arc? Please, he spends the entire game spewing bullshit. He is the *root cause* of humanity's extinction, there's no redeeming that. Yeah, I am biased against him because he *is* evil. Mother Sphere is a machine, she doesn't act in terms of good and evil. What you take as 'evil' is programming Raphael gave her. And again, she wouldn't exist in the first place if not for him.
@@GrislyGrizz Point number one, there is no way to prove the validity of The Truth in the game. There are several collactable, like the ones on MS religion that we can prove false. So there is no way to say if that article is true, partialy true or false. My opinion is that is partialy true, but anyone can have his own idea. But, even of we consider it to be true that is the only thing that imply that he MADE evil act in the name of his purpose. The past tense is very important because now we are 100 years into the future, so you can hardly judge who he is now from 6 articles maybe false of about a century and two genocidal war earlier. And yeah, he let Eve, one sent there from MS like she was less than a lab rat, to educate herself to the limit of his capacity. Than he offer her a choice. I really can’t say that this is a evil action. It was not like he could go to eve and say to her “Hey, I’m the Elder Naytibha… want to talk?” Or he would be immediatly attack, more because Eve was an indoctinated ignorant that anything else…. Soooo… yes, he wasn’t evil in make her see What’s happened and let her the possibility of a choice. And then sorry but i don’t undestand the “sacrife creation” part. Aside that no… MS act and have free will, say otherwise is simply stupid. Raphael never program her to delete humanity from existance. That was her thinking and logic. She made a leap in logic to make that decision. This actually require more decision making that simple programming. But even aside that, by refusing his offer you genocide a race and destroy the best possibility of stopping MS, that is actually far worse than him.
@marcobellanti1786 ah, I get it. If a document is negative about Adam, it's inconclusive. If a document is positive about Mother Sphere, abject falsehood. But *I'm* the biased one. Sure. Raphael programmed her to make humanity better. She created *better* humans. Organic humans treated them like garbage. Following her programming resulted in the war. Even in the present time of the game she's still following the same directives. That's what AI does.
lol… the real ending is the fusion ending. Mothersphere will consider eve obsolete and will throw her away for the newest version of humanity, mothersphere is a woman of the streets when it comes to mankind
@@Shangjinko until a sequel builds off of one of them, *none of them* are "the real ending." And really, obsolete? Mother Sphere finally created an angel that could get the job done.
@Shangjinko none of the post-launch outfits have that written anywhere on them. Only the black and wild wave outfits have "Protocol EDENN" on them. And also a Jolly Roger. They're risqué pirate costumes, that's all. And seriously, of *all* the nano suits in the game, you think *that* is the one they're gonna tease the sequel title with? If that's so then I guess it means Eve is gonna become a pirate.
But I sided with him
And here I thought helping him "atone" was the good ending. I know what ending I'll choose next. Adem can atone in Hell.
well, both "gods".
30:21 "Mother Sphere doesn't have to be the good guy for Adam to be the bad guy"
Thank you.
"This game has no story" i'm sick of hearing that people need to stop skiping/talking over every cutscene and for the love of god READ the stuff you pick up. great video
I literally agree. They keep saying this..
"This game has a poorly narrated story", unfortunately, is more accurate.
I honestly cannot wait for the sequel man
Wow thank you for getting right into it. Something felt off, but what you put together here really helps solidify why
@sootythunder3111 this is the last place I was expecting a RvB reference 🤣
@GrislyGrizz that I agree Even the director confirmed it originally
I also thought not fusing with Adam was the "Good ending" I was surprised when I learned that people say that is the bad one

Wow! Really gave me a new perspective I didn’t have the chance to notice on my first run through. Now I’m excited for my second playthrough and I can look a little deeper into this twisted lore as we go. Nice!
Mother Sphere is not a benevolent entity either. Like father like daughter, I guess. She started Terminator Judgement day.
Sir thank you so much. You have given me a perspective on Adam that I never thought of. Stellar blade has deep lore
Personally I'm tired of the homo shite. I hope it's just sister.
Of course, my comment gets censored.
@@TheUnseenKrab what did you say in your comment ?
This video is amazing It deserves more more nore views
Ngl I originally did not read anything and just assumed the story was lacking in content. This was a real eye opener.
Exactly.
@KingdomKeyJT I did read your whole comment. My answer was to you saying I'm insulting people and then asking if I really believe it to be "insane."
Best Stellar Blade lore video yet❤
Thank you for this in depth explanation. I think I have to agree with your take on adam being satan and deceives the player.
Finally, someone who sees adam as i do
I refuse to believe that any other ending fits the story except for "Return to the Colony".
@KatorX well said. I have a Raven video I'm working on, you're quite right; he *destroyed* Raven.
Have you gone through all the text lore?
@@siekensou77 I have.

I’ll watch this video when I fully finish the game. I have spire 4 left to do.
Hey bro, how did you get that outfit at the beginning of the game
@spunkyknups8864 are you asking how I got it in general or how do I have it equipped in the prologue?
@GrislyGrizz just how and where y9u get it, I've beaten the game multiple times but couldn't find that one lol
@spunkyknups8864 it's in a building not far from the start of Eidos 9. This is the v2 version, if you didn't pre-order then you'll get a different one the first time you open the box.
I'm pretty sure I pre-ordered but thanks for the info bro.
Subscribed :)
I still think taking his hand was the right choice. He seemed too genuine in his remorse for what he did.
Even Raffy seemed horrified by what Raphael was ordering it to do. And knowing all this, it's so irritating to see him playing dumb all the time. You can't trust someone who has been gaslighting you the whole time. At least now we can hide his face with the Emil mask lol
@kingsmerte3629 Exactly! Haha I'm so happy I don't have to look at him anymore 🤣 now if only he could be muted...
that's what makes Adam great, he's a villain in plainsight
@@darzinth What makes you think that Adam is a villain?
It seems that you think that Adam is the villain, why is that?
Did Adam create mother sphere? If so why? To start the war? What exactly was his plan? Can you make a video deticated to explain fully Adams Plan and moves he made to achieve it?
@@manostororosso2364 pretty much all of that is explained in the first 5 minutes of this video. I'm working on videos about Raven and Mother Sphere, both of which inherently have more to say about Adam.
Truly enjoyed this I’m guilty of choosing the angle ending but not anymore
Wow, way to make me regret my decision. I knew I saved New Game+ for a reason. I'm going through the game again right now on NG+, getting the Nier stuff, too. Looks like I'm taking this shite bag down this time around! Great video btw!
since shift up is yoko taro simp
the true ending is going to be eve against the space colony,
an attempt to resurrect humanity is what sequel do but space colony actually bigger than the prolog show, from beginning naytiba never had a chance to win the war
I knew he was the villain from the beginning of the story, as someone stated to me: “A true devil comes with a lie and a smile.”
I think that the mother's sphere is the next antagonist Eve going to confront
A few counter points, based on in-game dialogue Raven went off script after Adam saved Eve and forcably made Tachy into an Alpha based off the fact Orcal tells us that he possesed an Andro-Eidos to become an Alpha(the "first"),
that leads me to believe Adams offer to Eve to fuse and let her become the new leader of humanity 3.0 was genuine as the Neytiba seem to posses the universal ablility to take over Andro-Eidos body's alive(Orcal) near death(Tachy) or dead(Matrix 11) had Adam been truely commited to simply reviving Humanity under his own rule I seriously doubt he would not be above taking Eve's body for his own reguardless of her choice,
and Mother Sphere based on what we know calculated what Raphael and humanity would do and also what Eve's choices would be it would be a very safe bet that whatever comes next for the story will focus on Mother Sphere trying to either control or eliminate Eve now.
Why did Eve not kill Raven in their fight ? After all she has done
@Meh-el1ej "You... You've taken so much from me... In exchange... I'll allow you to witness the end." Eve left Raven alive as torment, Raven has been immobilized; she cannot fight, she cannot do anything, and she will be alive to witness Eve kill the Elder that she so vehemently worships.
this is a real breakdown
They really went and Xenoblade/Xenosaga the story.... I just hope they dont complicate things in the sequel.
Just the fact that Takahashi cut down important lore pieces in Saga to wrap it up in EP3.

Trying to kill Eve in the other 2 endings
No one thinks Adam is some angel, like Raven mentioned, Eve is just a pawn on a twisted chessboard and only Adam's road gives her a chance of existing even though he might still be in some corner of her mind
@eymaslacker Respawning is a gameplay mechanic. Canonically, Eve beats every boss in a flawless run.
I didn't take his hand just cause I don't like him but you've convinced me, he really didn't help anyone.

I hope the Real ending is rejecting Adam
@@MikeLowry893 same. Considering that was originally the only ending, it's the most likely to be canon.
I do wonder why was Lilly shocked to see the colony in the evil ending?
@@GrislyGrizz ok I must have missed it, I will take another look at the video and the Demogorgon fight thank you!
So, ultimately, this is a story of the conflict between the immoral (Adam) vs the amoral (Mother Sphere).
Damn he broke this down to the T never would have looked at adam this way ik hes a scumbag but damn
But hey that's just a theory a game theory
😂 great catch figuring out Adam was dirty. I aint trust him off his look & attitude but when he said to not open that disk i knew he was up to something.
Help the comedy.. 😂😂 Js continue watching the “Adam The Liar” section
Adam: “LeTs wOrK lIkE a TeAm”
Good thing I refused him on the first play though. Adam was the false light. Also in the "good ending" she kills her fellow sisters. W video
@withertempestprime8718 I had it slightly spoiled for me, I heard what had to be done to get 'the best/true/canon' ending. And I was just "*this* is the best ending?" Then I saw the alternative for myself and realized instantly how much better it is.
I mean, she kills her fellow sisters because she is targeted as the Elder Naytiba. I doubt the others would have hesitated.
Expecting him to just telling the truth is wild to me, lol
Yes, there are, or it can be reproduced/resurrected.
Like you said: *You should be able to separate game and lore*
No, it's literally the same EVE on all the diving suits and most of the rest. Lily doesn't have 'EVE' on her? Really? Check the writing on the back of her outfit. It says "EVE 05" i.e. EVE Defense Force Airborne Squad 05.
eve is babe
Well now I don’t like Adam even more not just at the end of the
Oooooh my god am such a stupid
Like finishing the game 2 times and didn’t even notice he is that bad and lying!!!!!!
Whaaat the heeeeellllll
Am in my third finish as am going to the orbit tomorrow am not gonna take his hand if that makes any difference
I just thought that keeping everyone alive is the good ending i never read lores so that was stupid from me
Well, taking Adam’s hand *is* the only way to acquire the fourth Hyper Cell.
I knew off my first playthrough brother man was SUS brother was talking weird n was being too mysterious
I always hated Adam
Both antagonists (i think Adam and Mother Sphere are antagonists of this story) has their ground and right on its own, so Eve must choose lesser evil. In my playthrough i chose Adam, as he in weaker position and tries to fix consequences of his deeds. And i think, if you read books ingame, making side-quests you understand that he is lesser evil (still evil) (he has passion, and actually human, which can make mistakes), while ME are cold supercomputer, which OK to destroy not only humanity but biosphere of planet.
Like father like daughter guys
Both need to go for good and the fusion ending is our best bet
I’m taking ravens answers as gospel, Luther had a few questions also and looked how that turned out for him and everyone else who questioned mothersphere
@Shangjinko Mm, yes, he died in an area full of Naytibas while communications between earth and the colony were still blocked by the Demogorgon.
@ doesn’t explain why mothersphere threatened lily and Eve for asking questions at the memory tower
@Shangjinko she didn't threaten them. It's an automated message for anybody trying to access classified records.
@@GrislyGrizz
Yea, whatever is not my point.
Are we really safe with an AI without safeguards?" -The Truth Article 5 (featured in this video)
He is absolutely arrogant, you're right.
@@GrislyGrizz
Point number one, there is no way to prove the validity of The Truth in the game.
Dude i know Adam did a lot but i can't shake this feeling like you were trying to villainize him way to much maybe way more than in lore
@@deividrodrigues8819 I villainized him proportionately to what the evidence suggests.
“Adam is not a good person” has been radical feminists rhetoric who hates men. Almost all of women players have had bad endings because of that.
lol… the real ending is the fusion ending.
@ the sequel will be the Eden protocols
@Shangjinko source?
@@GrislyGrizz look at the last DLC outfit Eve got, the Eden Protocols is printed on the latest DLC outfit possibly hinting at the name of the sequel
Geezus the lisp is STRONG with this one 👀....it literally keeps scaring my cat 🤣😂...every 3 seconds "STHS!! STHS!! STHS!!"
