Hey Emma your open mindedness on MSC is a big part of why we booked our first cruise with them on Divina, a transatlantic, this coming April. We increasingly find the usual American style cruise lines to be a little staid and what others consider to be good service we think of as being over the top nonsense. Polite and respectful transactional interaction with the ship's crew is all we need. Also, give us a mix of nationalities rather than a ship full of boring retirees like me and we will always be happier and better entertained.

Hey Emma. Didn’t realize the Europa started sailing. We were on the Seascape this past Thanksgiving week. MSC has beautiful ships. Great photo package. The cruise ships are getting more huge but looks very impressive. I have been on an MSC cruise before in Europe and found the staff very friendly and helpful. Thanks Emma for showing us around this beautiful ship.
Great Vlog. Not a ship that I, at the age of 70, would normally book but, delivered with so much enthusiasm, I am nontheless tempted to see what deals are on offer.
Hi Emma, The best cruise my wife and I worked on was Carnival Elation heading down to Mexico. As we were heading towards Mexico the Captain came on the speaker and said one of our propellers has stopped working. Oh dear, what now? San Francisco baby. 😁 We turned around and headed towards San Francisco for a one week dry dock. It was amazing,. Seeing below the ship and at the same time sleeping on it. In ten years of working for Carnival it was our best cruise. San Fran was great. If you get the chance to sail there, go. It's amazing!!!!🤩
Emma, you are such a talented presenter. I won't bother looking anywhere else for cruise reviews. Your videos are fantastic informative and entertaining. Thank you for making them
Hello Emma! ❤ Another great video! FYI, you're looking amazing... Your skin actually glows 😊. My husband and I have watched all of your videos (some several times) and we enjoy them ALL
Way too large for me. In 2022 we took a Viking cruise from Sweden around the Baltic to Denmark, Poland, Germany and Norway. The ship had seven hundred passengers on it, not nine thousand!!!! And once you sail on Viking you can't go back.... no kids, no casinos, no fees to eat in special restaurants, no art shows, no roaring tunes by the pool, it was lovely.
Just booked a cruise on the World Europa, was hoping you'd do a video on it! I never understood the bad rep MSC has, well outside of Americans because the European style customer service they aren't used to
Young lady, from a Yank who lived in the UK in 1959 and 60 while with the US Air Force, and loves to cruise, you are so adorable that I can hardly wait until your next video. I enjoy so much your presentation and your very thoughtful critiques. For the record, you are bloody adorable.
i think we use "grain of salt" a little differently too in the US--we don't use it to say "don't take it too personally", we use it when we want someone to interpret something with skepticism. for example, if I say something like "I don't think coffee is a good drink, but I'm someone who's very sensitive to caffeine, so take that with a grain of salt"
Yes, that’s how we use it in the UK, like, ‘this is what he said, but he’s biased because…., so take it with a pinch of salt’. Maybe when people first got to the US from Europe, they were running out of salt… 😂
By the time we saw the shows open for availability in the APP the rear theater they were always full. We found the ship crowded, and really loud. There was a long line for dinner even when you showed up for your dinning time. They were always asking us to buy something probably because people are getting on every day. Food was good about half the time. I actually liked the food in the buffet better than the main dinning hall which never happens for me on a cruise.
We went Yacht Club on this ship last year. Truly loved it and it’s our second MSC cruise. We loved the speakeasy and the entertainment in this bar was by far the best. Also found this to have the best spa which we had access to, and the yacht club pool was the first time I could relax around a pool. We had breakfast every morning in the sun up on the front pool deck. I’ll be honest we have only ever done yacht club and even though we enjoyed other parts of the ships, I don’t think I could ever cruise any other way. The theatre shows we’re not as good as other ones we’ve seen. The back theatre stank of stale smoke which was horrible for a new ship and I hated that smoking was allowed in this area and also at the end of the promenade. It meant we couldn’t use these spaces. I also tasted the beer that is brewed on board and it was lovely! Also really love how MSC modern ships have the lifts where you pick your floor and then are told which lift to get into it. Also love the wristband you get to use as your key card and to pay for things.
As an ex-New Yorker who was behind the scenes of some broadway shows…and miss it!, one of the best selling points for cruising is, 1st the travel (of course) and 2nd the shows! I love that about cruise ships! Also, whales swimming on the floor as the passengers walk above them, would bump this cruise to next level. It would be super cool 😎
We call it a grain of salt in the US. Grain is a unit of mass equal to 64.79891 milligrams Grains as a unit are usually found where a mass is small, and needs yo be extremely precise. A pinch is a less precise unit of measure, between 1/8 and 1/24 of a teaspoon. I imagine a grain and a pinch of salt is more or less the same.
I just watched cruise with Ben and David, they were giving a positive review, they had reviewed MSC in the past with negative feedback. On day 3 they were told to stop filming, in fact they could not take any pictures at all. Filming was discreet, people were blurry or not in focus. Their treatment was rude and disrespectful. I will cancel my upcoming cruise. Watch the video to get your own perspective on their experience. Even though they were treated poorly by MSC they still posted a positive review
I'm getting ready to comment the same thing. There's absolutely no way I would go on a MSC cruise. My husband and I have been looking at cruises and we will be getting ahold of Don's Family Vacations. We're going to pay for my daughter and her family to go with us. When we get ready to book our cruise, we won't book one through MSC. I know that us not going on an MSC isn't a big deal to MSC. I told my husband about what happened to Ben and David and both of us won't take a risk on going on a MSC cruise.
I saw the video. If they were filming in an area and other customers were complaining... if we were not there then we don't really know how discrete the filming was. Yacht Club is a super private area. PS: My msc cruise is already booked for this season :)
People complained. Ben and David don’t get special treatment and other people also paid to be on those cruises and it isn’t a public space they can just leave if they’re uncomfortable. MSC was right to heed those complaints.
I like the idea of hidden areas to avoid the massive crowds. If you make everything open an inviting you just get hoards of people wondering around and milling about.
Because Emma is less loud and in your face. I realy enjoy Ben and David but their filming and recording can be intrusive for passengers in the vicinity. It just takes one passenger to complain at a high level.
How can they ban someone from filming anything? I'd be filming, taking pictures, doing what I'd want to have fun and posting on FB.. sending to friends.. etc... 99%of the people on board do this... yeah, she's a UA-cam person, but, what? Banned to film? That's false... that's got to be false.
@@EmmaCruises I think it may have something to do with your slightly subtle filming technique. Especially the way you narrate over the video that you are capturing which makes it less obtrusive and therefore not as noticeable to other passengers. Perhaps I’m wrong about this too, but I just found that whole incident most unusual and the reaction from the cruise staff quite alarming. Love your channel!
As an American, I've always said and heard "pinch of salt." I.noticed, as always, how.informative, engaging and well presented Emma's narrative is. Thanks!
I have never gone on a cruz before, but I think having these inner balcony room is soooo nice and budget-friendly! The no-windows rooms would drive me crazy after a while.
My husband and I had a lovely 14 day Western Caribbean cruise experience on MSC Seashore in July 2022! Our balcony room was comfortable and roomy enough for us. Highly recommend. We had the kindest steward for our room who took great care of us. In the Bimini Islands jellyfish stung my husband. The quality of care that he received in the ship medical center was outstanding! The main dining room food was consistently delicious. The buffet was fine though after 14 days there were many repetitions. We didn’t mind. I was only disappointed in the limited drink options included with no drink package. We loved the restaurants like Hola Tacos!
I have enjoyed many of your videos, your experiences,, tips and your advice on cruising. I particularly enjoy your "British-ism of The Week", my wife, and I are Americans who had the privilege of living just west of London (Reading) for six months and loved, loved, loved it. While in the UK and surrounding countries, it was so fascinating to hear all the different languages, accents, and different points-of-views, let alone all the wonderful architecture and sites. Thanks for all your great videos.
'Pinch-of-salt' in the 'Land Down Under' too! But Britain is our 'Mother Country' and all your 'Britishisms' also apply here! Oh, and Emma, Kudos to you for all the hard work you put into your videos from a long-time subber! Cheers from Oz!
Hi Emma, please I’m travelling with my family in June for my mothers 70th birthday, we have all booked the easy plus’s drinks package and have been told that we can only use it in a few places, but I’m not sure if the information is right as you mentioned that your package was accepted in almost all the restaurants and bars. I’m not sure what package do you get the one which includes up to 9€ per drink or the one that includes up to 14€ per drink?? Thanks appreciate your answer.
Love your videos! I've never cruised, other than in the Navy, but, plan to cruise to England when I retire. It throws me off when you say cookie rather than biscuit, 😂
Great video Emma. Our ship was docked next to World Europa in Barcelona last November and it truly dwarfed our Viking ship. Really enjoyed watching the light show that Europa put on before it departed.
I'm always so impressed by your willingness to try anything and everything offered onboard a cruise! Roller skating at sea seems bonkers, and yet, that's something I'd love to try! And that huge winding slide, wow, so cool. Also, I'm with you on the need for banter. I'll do it, but I certainly don't find anything rude about simple asked and answered interactions.
I'm American and say "grain" of salt, but pinch of salt makes so much more sense! I think I'll say it that way. Love your reviews and agree that as long as you get the thing you need/want, you don't need the over-the-top friendliness from the cruise employee. In a way it relieves you of the need to respond in kind.
We got off the World Europa on Friday, we absolutely loved the ship, its our new favourite. We enjoyed the food and the ship felt far less crowded than the other MSC ships we have been on. I found the Stops in Genova and Rome uninspiring and dirty but absolutely loved Malta... again. We were very fortunate to get tokens to the speakeasy bar but ours were metal coins, its quite the experience and we were happy to spend nearly 100 euros even though we had the drinks package. Sadly someone fell from the 16th floor while we were docked in Malta as we were just about to leave and passed away in hospital a short time later, RIP.
Thank you for the review. So fascinating. We have been on 2 MSC cruses and loved them both. Check in and out on the first was a bit slow but the second was like a fine tuned race car!. I hope this ship comes to a port near me as I know we will love the experience.
Sorry to keep commenting on old videos (I'm enjoying the content and lovely, varied hairstyles thanks to UA-cam's recommendations) I wonder, though if the inside balcony cabins were breezy. Thanks for the video! Blessings to Emma, Hudson and family.
I know it’s crazy expensive and this is kinda random, but I hope one day you can take an Antarctic Cruise. You’re someone who obviously loves to cruise and I hope that’s one you get to experience one day and share it with us so I can continue to live vicariously through you 😁
I love travel and am so happy you do what you do for us...I think these huge ships are fun looking too...sometimes when alone you can be more alone and just watch shows, snack, and eat and swim and be more incognito..I mis my youth and travel Europe on a Dime Summer...what a great compromise and more elegant yet less structured way to be able to cruise from so many ports with them..I wonder if the US cruises are a tad less smoky...I remember this issue even 40 years ago...Happy Sails Emma.
Thank you for always giving realistic opinions and insights into cruises. No one can afford the plenty of videos there are on UA-cam about people staying in fancy suites....
Thank you Emma, I have often thought I may give MSC a try, certain legs of world cruises pass through Australia. Maybe one day I will manage to get on board? The ship certainly looks magnificent, though I do prefer the much smaller ones. Languages always have me in awe of people who are linguists, they can swap and change them at will. Not quite so much the people who think that dining rules or screens do not apply to them 🙄 Appreciate your videos which are always full of information and on point.
Hey Emma, I live here in Canada, and the way that we say that saying here is "a grain of salt." it's interesting to hear hwo some things are said differently around the world, its pretty cool.
I've been on this beauty last year in May and it was amazing! Nearly all cruises are crowded due to peak season. MSC World Europa definitely the best ship I've ever been.
Love your videos and helpful tips Emma. Have you ever thought about doing a contract with one of the cruise companies?? I have done a few and the life on board experience would give you a great insight into the behind the scenes aspect of ship life. Some contracts can be as short as only 4 months :) Happy Valentines Day, Ronan.

Great Vlog. Not a ship that I, at the age of 70, would normally book but, delivered with so much enthusiasm, I am nontheless tempted to see what deals are on offer.
Thanks so much for watching and your kind words! I appreciate it 😀❤️
Hi Emma, The best cruise my wife and I worked on was Carnival Elation heading down to Mexico.
I love MSC...its fun to roam around n explore. look forward to a sail on this one! we live in florida
Woohoo! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Traveling: the only expense that makes you richer in memories and experiences, unlocking the world's treasury of moments waiting to be cherished.
Great review Emma! Your MSC cruise videos are slowly changing my mind after all of the negative reviews that are out there. 👍
Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
I'm sure it all depends on what you personally enjoy, but I've had a great time on MSC Cruises. And the price is hard to beat!
Emma, you are such a talented presenter. I won't bother looking anywhere else for cruise reviews. Your videos are fantastic informative and entertaining. Thank you for making them
Thanks so much for watching and your kind words! I appreciate it 😀❤️
Hello Emma! ❤ Another great video! FYI, you're looking amazing... Your skin actually glows 😊. My husband and I have watched all of your videos (some several times) and we enjoy them ALL
Me, an Italian, finding out just how that MSC is Italian !?!? Wonderful job as always Emma, I love watching you explore and enjoy the cruises
Haha. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
So excited to watch this! Thanks to you, I'm finally planning my first cruise with my service dog as a graduation celebration (this fall)! ❤
Ooooo!! Exciting!! Check out Molly Burke she does great videos about cruising with her guide dog. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
@@EmmaCruises OMG neat!! I knew about Molly Burke but I didn't know she had done cruise stuff!! Thank you!
Enjoyed this comprehensive an informative look at this MSC ship! Has many lovely spaces and what seems to be great shows!

I will be on the MSC Europa for Christmas this year. I was excited beforehand, but even more so after this review. Thanks Emma
Have the best time ever!!!! 😀❤️
We're doing a 7-day on this ship at the end of March! So glad I get to hear your opinion of it!
Have a great time! 🥳🥳
How was it
I love the way you incorporate Captain Hudson in the video as much as possible.
Thanks for the excellent video, as always! We've been avoiding MSC. But after seeing this, we need to give them a try!
loved the tea lounge! those are the best looking cookies i think i've seen you post!
It's a "Grain of Salt" here in Texas.
Ha ha, love it. Thank you! 😁❤️
Same here in Maryland! 🦀🦀
Crazy ship with cray numbers.... still here just for the video and delivery, rather than an interest in cruising. Great content as always @Emma
Just booked a cruise on the World Europa, was hoping you'd do a video on it! I never understood the bad rep MSC has, well outside of Americans because the European style customer service they aren't used to
Great video my family and I and big fans of MSC and we cant wait to try the World America!!!
Young lady, from a Yank who lived in the UK in 1959 and 60 while with the US Air Force, and loves to cruise, you are so adorable that I can hardly wait until your next video. I enjoy so much your presentation and your very thoughtful critiques. For the record, you are bloody adorable.
Only thing better than a 5 star cruise, is an Emma cruise review. The absolute best...and I learn British-isms!!
Thanks so much 🥹❤️
i think we use "grain of salt" a little differently too in the US--we don't use it to say "don't take it too personally", we use it when we want someone to interpret something with skepticism. for example, if I say something like "I don't think coffee is a good drink, but I'm someone who's very sensitive to caffeine, so take that with a grain of salt"
Yes, that’s how we use it in the UK, like, ‘this is what he said, but he’s biased because…., so take it with a pinch of salt’. Maybe when people first got to the US from Europe, they were running out of salt… 😂
My husband and I are addicted to MSC Yacht Club and we are huge fans. We are going on World Europa out of Barcelona in October.
Did you go in school holidays perhaps?? I think I preferred the buffet too. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
@@EmmaCruises we were on in mid November. I don’t think that was a holiday for the kids
Wow, this ship looks impressive 🤩
So cool right?! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Fab video!
I love the wider chairs in the theatre… being a… wider cruiser 😂
Love the fact MSC almost always have food and drinks
Look at the update from the guys.
I wonder why they allowed you to film when they banned Ben and David from filming on the same ship?
No idea why they weren't allowed to, theres hundreds and thousands of UA-cam videos made about this ship. Thanks for watching. 😀👏🏼
@@EmmaCruises I'm a huge fan of yours! Thanks for the response!
@@gustymaat7011they did it’s weird watch their video bout it
Here's your Southernism for the week, "Stay Salty", meaning keep your grit, keep pushing back, questioning, not being a push over - from South Memphis
You must starve your self between cruises to keep so fit!
Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Emma. Fantastic REALISTIC review. Appreciated.
Emma, how come you were allowed to film and yet Ben and David were banned from filming or even taking pictures on this very same ship?
I would also like to know the answer to this question!
No idea why they weren't allowed to, theres hundreds and thousands of UA-cam videos made about this ship. Thanks for watching. 😀👏🏼
Thanks!
Nice review! That secret bar thing is so cool, way different.
Thanks Emma, I love the details, good and not so good that you include in this, and all, your videos. Keep up the great work.
Thanks so much for watching and your kind words! I appreciate it 😀❤️
'Pinch-of-salt' in the 'Land Down Under' too! But Britain is our 'Mother Country' and all your 'Britishisms' also apply here!
Oh, and Emma, Kudos to you for all the hard work you put into your videos from a long-time subber!
Cheers from Oz!
Oh, we here in Oz also have an early dinner, usually for us growing up it was @ 5-6pm, always!
Sounds perfect!! Thanks lots and lots. :)
@@EmmaCruises You're most welcome, and as we say here, you're a 'Bonza, Bottlar Sheila!'
Danke!
Thank you! 😁❤️
Sorry to keep commenting on old videos (I'm enjoying the content and lovely, varied hairstyles thanks to UA-cam's recommendations)
I wonder, though if the inside balcony cabins were breezy.
Thanks for the video! Blessings to Emma, Hudson and family.
Helloo! Thanks for commenting always. Nope we never felt a breeze on there. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Wow that was a really good price especially with a balcony and a drink package!
Yeah I think so! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Thank you for always giving realistic opinions and insights into cruises. No one can afford the plenty of videos there are on UA-cam about people staying in fancy suites....
Ha ha, this balcony was a treat for me!! I like the oceanviews and insides too. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
I love it. "I'm drinking to do research." Think I will use that on my next cruise.
It was difficult to wait two weeks for a new video! Already binge watched most of your older ones. Keep them coming please.
Awwh Thank you! 😁❤️
20:15 - of all the bars and restaurants you;ve shown - this is the one I would want to visit, this totally works for me
I myself wouldn't go on a cruise unless it was free, but I always enjoy your videos.
Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Emma I just found your channel. So informative. Myself and hubby are really enjoying them ❤
Thank you Emma, I have often thought I may give MSC a try, certain legs of world cruises pass through Australia.
Another lovely review Emma! Wish I can be on this ship very soon...I think I willl love it :)
Pam from Malaysia
And in Malaysia, we say 'with a pinch of salt' too
Hey Emma, I live here in Canada, and the way that we say that saying here is "a grain of salt." it's interesting to hear hwo some things are said differently around the world, its pretty cool.
I've been on this beauty last year in May and it was amazing! Nearly all cruises are crowded due to peak season. MSC World Europa definitely the best ship I've ever been.
Definitely a grain of salt in Wisconsin, USA. I really enjoy your videos.
Cruise Review, Loved the food, shows, and endless activities onboard MSE Cruises!
Greetings! I’m in the U.S. and everyone I know says “pinch of salt”. Love the channel!
I haven’t cruised with MSC yet, ship does look gorgeous. That show looked impressive 👏
Really understand what European service means and know their Italian dishes are by far the best.
If that sounds good, MSC is perfect. Loved both our cruises with them
Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
