- We take a look at Chess Dynamics , very interesting company who among other things make Counter UAS equipment ( counter drone ). Staff are not very nice to me and the director eventually is told to leave me be.

For the director of a company that makes drones, you'd think he'd know the laws regarding their use.

I dunno looking at the open doors they all had barriers to discourage entry. The first guy shut the door. You can also see a fob entry system on some of the buildings. Looks pretty standard, unless they were making weapons, which they don't.
For a company that’s working for the defence industry their security is pretty poor. No gates, no signage, no security guards. Implied right of access. Roller shutter doors wide open for all to see what’s going on. I think Chess need to assess their security and tighten it up.

Didn't look too bad to me, only filmed some blocks of ally, a couple of machines, some obscured parts. If it was a munitions factory and he got boxes of missiles or documents with top secret plastered all over them, maybe. Looking at the website these guys seem to just make big bearings.

Yeah what he wants is police misconduct at a US level, the laws are functionally the same.
Police need a reasonable suspicion of a crime to detain/demand anything. Though trespassing after warning is still a police matter in US unlike the UK.
I also think US laws are a mess over drones because the airspace isn't entirely federally regulated, and there's a hotchpotch of local legislations.

Its odd why people in defence are so anti drones used on their property, yet happy to use theirs anywhere.
This is only legal for the government. Private companies in the US absolutely can not do this. It is the same as downing any other aircraft.

It's amazing how many managers are clueless about regulations like GDPR when it is mandatory for them. They work in the defence industry and dont understand basic data protection laws. And the manager that tried to be smart about the photo he admitted to taking is an embarrassment, he behaved like a little child. He also demonstrated that he is willing to lie about a trivial issue at the drop of a hat and cannot therefore be trusted in business dealings. Imagine having to work for those clowns.

Was this filmed on a Friday afternoon? I used to deliver to them, the guys in goods in/ stores were pretty sound. The fluid containers at 22:46 are cutting fluid/ coolant for the cnc machines you saw. Shoreham Technical Centre, Old Shoreham Rd, Shoreham-by-Sea BN43 5FG would be a suggestion for a visit, however being right next to the airfield, you probably won't be able to drone.
That boss has no man management skills and security is so lapse I hope the MOD inspect this place

Chess Dynamics they show you what they do on the web page ? i think they think they are more important than they are one tool says it classified what a knob. they sell surveillance equipment cant be that good if they have to follow you around in person. They just look foolish.
I don't normally comment on videos, but I feel compelled by this one. Firstly, it was kind of boring. Secondly their security seemed adequate for their application (they sell big bearings, not munitions). Thirdly, the staff that appeared in the video responded in a way that appeared reasonable, in line with their right to freedom of expression. Only improvement would be brush up on drone law or consult the company expert before approaching private drone operators.

These videos used to be good as the auditings used to correct the police abusing their power, now its about patronising and getting reactions from the general public that dont really know all the ins and outs with this newish auditing stuff.
I agree that auditing the Police is much more valid than with ordinary citizens like these.
However the first point about being upfront about the audit(which some do) changes the nature of the encounter. A big part of auditing is testing whether an ordinary member of the public can carry out a lawful activity without being harassed or worse. Declaring as an auditor invalidates that test.
