Milk Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
2/3 cup warm milk
1 large egg
Instructions:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt until combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, warm milk, and egg.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm, draft-free place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Punch down the dough and knead again briefly.
Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.
Cover the loaf with a damp cloth and let it rise again for another 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
Bake the loaf for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown on top and hollow-sounding when tapped on the bottom.
Let the bread cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Dip each slice of milk bread in the egg mixture, making sure to coat both sides evenly.

Place the soaked bread slices on the griddle or skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
