Wow, now that is a bizarre reaction - especially compared to mine! I'd say my reaction is the exact opposite. If I have coffee (caffeine) on an empty stomach, I'd be likely to get a headache and you'd have to peel me off the ceiling in about 5 minutes. And if I have it after 3 in the afternoon I'm not likely to get any sleep that night. I think the tannins mess with me too as I'm OK with caffeinated tea in the morning with food. I truly enjoy a light roast with almond milk. Hated it in my 20’s-30’s. Got a corporate job that included free coffee in the break room. Been hooked ever since. I enjoy Spanish coffee too. It’s more milk than coffee. Caffeine is not my friend so no night drinking and I go cold turkey to Spanish decaf once or twice a year. No one has ever given me a real explanation for why we should give it up. And if it gives me a headache once in a while it’s a small price to pay for the joy it brings me hot or cold the other 363 days of the year. 🙄
Don’t really like coffee all that much. But I enjoy hearing you talk about it. I drink tea 🫖 & I drink 💧water. Stainless Steele canister are the absolute best! ☕️ 💦🌺
Hi Scott, I enjoyed today's video on why you drink coffee. I'm funny in that I like my coffee hot, or ice cold (in the summer) but I won't drink it lukewarm. Do you ever drink your coffee ice cold on hot days? Cheers my friend! ☕
I had switched to decaf because of getting the jitters & having anxiety issues but didn't really like it. Then after learning that the USDA allows a percentage of mold to be included & that as beans sit around waiting to be roasted as a blend, mold is a normal result. Groundwork became my "go to" because it's single origin & thus roasted before mold can grow. From that point forward, coffee has not been an issue.
With you all the way on drinking coffee for the flavor and not the jolt. I usually drink a pot a day instead of sodas. I drink it before bed as well and it actually helps me get to sleep; I asked my doctor about it years ago and he said that coffee has an opposite reaction on those with ADD; it wasn't called ADHD in those days. So brother, maybe you're on the spectrum too. Coffee beats meds and it's cheaper :-) If you are healthy and enjoy your life, don't worry about such things. Have a great day.
