This video literally brought tears to my eyes because this is my dream car I was born in 1971 I own a 2017 6 speed manual R/T Lord knows I want the 71 Dodge Challenger
Those 'v6v' dayglow orange stripes are absolutely perfect with the black paint. Kudos to the original owner for checking that particular option on this black beauty! The photographer also did a great job featuring them as well. Visually I would say this is your best video ever!
What a beautiful car man oh man was dodge putting out some crazy cars in the Golden age and today they are king again with the baddest cars with the hellcat and demon dodge rocks
Believe it or not, my high school had these and I learned to drive in one, in 1971, in Driver Training. I turned right ona a red light and had to gun it to stay ahead of the car that was coming. I got points taken off. "Gee, Teach, what are all those horses for, if not for this?" (I should have said, but I didn't).
Such a nice mopar. love the look of the dog dish hubcaps, all black paint with the r/t stripe. Not to mention that 440/6 up front! Nice piece of mopar heaven!
So gents....when are you making a Top 10 list for coolest hoods/air scoops? 😉 Another question, do they have any '62 Dodge Dart 440 or similar Plymouth factory racers, in the collection? Keep them fantastic videos coming! 👍👌🤘👊
Curious if this car came with all these options...Shaker hood, Rear AND Front spoilers , 4:10 behind an auto trans , Black with orange tape..... We're pushing 1 of 1 here. Buildsheet ??
Ohhh, if only I were a millionaire in the late 60s... I'd have 3 or 4 of these, several 'Cudas, Coronets, Chargers, Roadrunners, maybe a GTX or two, of course a whole fleet of Corvettes, some Chevelles, Camaros, a few firebirds, GTOs, hell I might have even bought a Mustang...
If I was ever gonna buy any Mustang it would be either a 65 Shelby GT350 or a 69-70 BOSS 302. I would actually rather have a Cougar Eliminator BOSS 302 but they are much more rare than a BOSS 302 Mustang. Was never a big fan of Mustangs. I'd rather have a 427 Galaxie or Fairlane or a 428/429 CJ/SCJ Torino/Cyclone
@@jeremythompson9122 I like the style of the early Mustangs, but as a mechanic, it's all about the drive train for me. The pinnacle of early mustangs is the BOSS 429. Other than that, the only Mustang I would want is a 67 GT500 with a 427 side oiler, but I don't think they ever put one in a Mustang from the factory.
@@AlejandroP1980s I love the BOSS 351 engine. I just don't like the 71-73 Mustang body style. Rather have a 71 Torino Cobra 429 SCJ-4 speed with 3.91 gears
@@livewire2759 I prefer the small block Mustangs...the K-Code 289, BOSS 302, and BOSS 351. The big blocks really hurt the handling of the smaller cars. But if I was buying a Torino or Cyclone im definitely ordering the 428 or 429 SCJ...depending on the year
Three kids who worked for me grew up restoring a Plum Crazy 440 6pac Convertible Challenger. They live across the road and when this engine starts everybody knows their mom and dad are off to a shine and show,
Another great video, absolutely awesome well done. Beautiful all round including the sound track. Can I make a request for a long forgotten muscle car that never gets featured in any magazine or video. 1971 Plymouth Sport Fury GT with a 440 six pack , centre console my dream muscle car. If you can do a feature on the above mentioned muscle car it would be fantastic.

Buddy of mine had a top banana yellow ‘71 Challenger 440-6 Pistol grip 4 speed, With black interior and yellow piping and a shaker hood. Fender tag said it was built April 1 of 71, haven’t seen the car since 1996
Who are the Brothers? I'm just starting to learn about old muscle cars and don't know who they are but I keep hearing that. I'd like to learn about them.
Hei, nice video again! Very informative like always. I’ve learned a lot of american cars through your videos. There is although one thing I’d change, I would turn the music down a bit and give more space for engine sounds. It would be nice to hear properly the idle sound of the engines, the rumbling. And the revving too. Now sometimes the background music covers the motors maybe too much. But other than that great videos, keep the coming!
Veikko Lappalainen Around 2:50 he mentions the forged crank spinning in a 2blt block. I find this a bit missleading in a historical sense. All of your 440s regardless of hp 67-72 are based on grannys base model 440 found in C bodys. Chryslers foundrys are famous for churning out superior castings. Less core shift, superior metalurgical mix, etc.
Apparently you have no idea what the difference was when this vehicle was new, and attempting to race against a 4 speed vehicle of similar h.p. . I'm not referring to today's autos set up for drag racing. Our club still races some of the old mussel cars of that era, some of the guys have have old GTOs and SS chevells ect. that race each other a few times a year. Plus a manual is so much more fun to drive.
I don't see how it is possible to not love this car, even if you're a Ford or GM guy. I'm a Ford guy but I'll take that 71 440 six pack Challenger rt over any Mustang of that era, even the Boss 429 or any Shelby
I have a original 1970 Dodge Challenger 440 Six pack 4spd. It pumps out 375 HP and 490 Ft-Lb Torque. I don’t know where you got your power number but I’m sharing the factory HP any Torque numbers.
Thats exactly how I would've ordered it ...except that I wouldve ordered a 4 speed and the RT stripe delete and spoiler delete too if possible. But that is just a sinister looking 71 Challenger RT 440 Six Pack. Bad Mopar
Hello. Episodes 238 and 239 are the only ones that do not have photos in the size of 1280 x 720 pixels. I'm using these photos as a cover for my collection of videos of you. Could you make these images available? Thank you!
I was never a big fan of the Hemni orange color. The RT strips on the side is what kills the look for me. I would prefer maybe a grey or dark red color. But that's just my opinion...
bgh70 The 440 6pak was a mid year option introduced in 1969. The 69 cars got the edelbrock aluminum intake. 1970 and up all got cast iron intakes poured in house.
Way back in the day when I was in high school a buddy of a buddy bought one with a four speed. One afternoon after classes they come whipping around the corner...I jumped in for an initiation. All I remember is him down shifting @ 70 mph punching it and bringing it sideways. We show back up at the house and my old man is waiting in the driveway...we simultaneously gulped and muttered "oh shit"... my father takes one look and says to me "you will never get in that car again." I didn't and my buddy's buddy sold it a month later and bought a Volkswagen. True.
Around 1976 i visited a Mopar nut outside of Winnipeg,Mb.and he had a black on black 70' Challenger 440-6 4 gear and this guy loved my Plumb Crazy 71' Duster 340-4 gear. He wanted to trade his car if gave him another $3,000. I said are you NUTS and i turned him down. You gotta remember....this was in the age where you could buy a Hemi RR for cheap. Well the guy who bought the car next week was none other than Eddie Balfour who was goalie for the Chicago Black Hawks,Dallas Stars and Toronto as he grew up just south of us. The car is in the U.S. right now and Eddie is restoring Challengers,Cuda's and Mopars till this day!
At 2:05 when he is talking about spinning those "big tires" I was thinking it is criminal how skinny those tires are. Really, those tires are made for burnouts not traction.
I'd like to see an episode with this car upgraded to current-technology wheels and tires, showing what it can do when it can get its power to the ground.
I always gets lost in thoughts that what would have happened if Shelby or Yenko laid their enchantments on these devil boy 440s!! But nope they had to only stick to Ford and Chevy only!! Though i love Yenko works more!! Yenko will do soon as era of small pumpkin engines are coming so why don't they do something out of box for great and happy ending??!! What do you say #musclecaroftheweek ??
Might be faster, but nowhere near as cool. And nowhere near the torque. After that Civic puts you to sleep out of sheer boredom, drive a 440 Challenger and grow some gray hairs after it scares you half to death! See ya at the beer can festival! ( that new Civic has top honors )
Absolutely killer machine!
Finally! a videographer smart enough to shoot a black car during the golden hour. 1:01 really shows off the flawless bodywork and black paint.
there is something so beautiful about old muscle cars, they just stand out from everything else

Thanks Sean! It was the right car at the right time of day, for sure!
Brings back memories of my '71 R/T 340 modded up with RB high lift cam, headers and CD ignition. It held its own against the big blocks.
The color combo with the shaker and wing are over the top cool factors!
Another nice review. Thanks for the trip back to my younger days!
This beast is nearly 50 years old. It looks flawless
Yep, thanks to the Brothers Collection for those burnout with all the right noise...

Thanks for the great videos and the Brothers for sharing, nice folks.
A friend of mine had one except four speed. He sold it in late eighties for $8000.00 just think if he kept it.
A set of drag radials on the back would do wonders for this baby! Lol!

Absolute killer . My friend had one of these with a 383 and you could melt the tires and couldn't keep it on the road straight
Those orange stripes just bring this car to life. Also, a 440+6 was a far better street engine than a 426 Hemi.

Not true on several levels, as the warranty was longer than you suggest. 440 was much cheaper too.
