For the altitude sickness we are drinking Muna Tea and Coco Leaf tea and even sometimes Stuffing the actual coco leaf in my mouth which helps with the altitude. We're in Peru now and starting our Peru series. Such an incredible place.

5%. Peru is full of turist places. His video was nice but it does't do the country justice. There are places to visit everywhere. The country has so much history. There are even all included resorts in warm beaches like the Caribbean except with waves close to the Equator. Peru has nothing to envy any other country.

Huayna Picchu is a MUST!
I'd stay in Aguas Calientes overnight and hike up to Machu Picchu and arrive at the gate at opening time to catch the sunrise!
And...altitude sickness is the real deal. I was super lucky and didn't experience it, but man oh man was my bf (born in Lima) sick...... COCA TEA/leaves!
don't forget to visit Winicunca, the Rainbow mountain of Cusco and if you love hiking, I would recommend Choquequirao.

I went to Cusco, Lima and Machu-Pichu two years ago, and this trip was amazing. I wonder when I can return specially to see Nazca and Titicaca.

I absolutely loved your Peru series chrisitian!! I am from Peru and when I found out you were coming I was so excited for your videos!! I did climb the huayna picchu when I went and I was only 14 years old, the view from the top was breathtaking. I recommend you to come back to Peru and go to the jungle. It is so underated and is so beautiful. You have got to go :) keep up the good work

I worked and stayed in peru three times ; visited Mp arequipa and loved the country went on honey moon there and visited puno drank pisco sour and had chicken in a resort to the north of lima excellent!

The north of Peru also has very interesting destinations: Kuelap, Gocta waterfalls, Chan Chan, Moche and Lambayeque pyramids, etc. Thank you for making those really cool videos.

Peru is awesome. I loved it. I found it safe enough by myself. Most of the people are very very nice and helpful. Get ready to see multiple native American tribes everywhere. The food is so good and very inexpensive. As long as you dont need a really nice room, you only need to spend $20 to 30 a night. Travel is easy and cheap either by plane or bus. Just remember the night buses are freezing. Lol. Most buses have chairs that fold down 140, 160, or 180 degrees so sleeping is not that difficult. I will say fly often to save time. For about the same price if you book early the flight from lima to Cusco is $50 and about an hour long. The bus wont be much cheaper and is 22 hours long. Personally I would say skip puno and lake titicaca. Arequepa is fantastic. Culca canyon tours are cheap from there. Cusco and all the tours out of there is nothing short of special. Rainbow mountain you get to 17,000 feet. Machu picchu is so fantastic. Check out inca bridge behind the city. Very few people go back there, its a short easy hike, and you hear birds singing on a trail used for centuries. Bring a lunch and stay up above the ruins as long as you can. Trujillo in the north is also very cool. Kind of like a little Seville. Huaraz isnt all that nice but huscarian national park is really cool. Passori Glacier, Laguna paron, and Laguna 69 are great hikes. Be ready for the high altitude. There is a town a little more north to stay in that is much nicer. I loved that area as there was very little tourist but enough to fill tours. After spending 18 days there I'm going back for another 2 weeks this month. I want to go to the Amazon which makes up 60% of Peru and Nazca/ica area. Plus I want to go to the poor mans Galapagos off of pisco.

I’m a Peruvian born in Peru, but grew up in the USA. Have been back twice. It is an amazing place, and Arequipa is actually surrounded by three volcanoes.
Arequipa is also made out of volcanic material.
Planning a trip to Lima soon (hopefully, depending on flights) so I'll be using this guide lots!
