The golden chain trees are just starting to bloom here in Kodiak, Alaska. I’m looking forward to hearing the buzzzzz that comes from all the flowers being pollinated by bees 🐝
I Googled these trees, and they are mostly native to Europe. (According to Google anyway.) But what I thought was interesting is that one of the few places the Golden Chain Tree grows natively in the US is in Maine. I wonder if it is because very early settlers from Europe brought the trees or seeds with them for some reason, which I would think was most likely not with the intention to eat.
That is interesting about growing golden chain trees in Maine. They like cool in moist climates, so having them thrive in Kodiak, Alaska is quite unique. Not too far north of us where it is cooler and dryer in the winter, they will not grow. Gardeners coming to Kodiak Island and see them blooming, and go to our local nursery and ask to buy a golden chain tree so they can take them home. But our nursery owners know full well that it’s not a good idea, and often gardeners go away, disappointed because they are such a beautiful display of yellow.
Lovely❤

We have a Horse Chestnut tree that is filled with bees when it blossoms. Thousand of bees when you look up!
It must be quite the chorus as well. I love listening to bees as they go about their work.

What time of the year can cuttings be planted? Is it spring?
I'd say spring would be best, depending on your climate. Thanks for asking and keep me posted!
Very nice and beautiful
Good luck
