The Uprising MMO legit made the Anoat Sector one of my favorite areas in the Star Wars universe. I already loved Bespin, but it's says a lot how a game that lets you explore a whole expanded region can really make it that much more compelling. Glad to see at least *some* closure to that story.
Uprising was a harbinger of things to come in Star Wars gaming. Fun, full of potential, slated as a “multi year” project, shot down in its prime. I miss it dearly. I preregistered for it.
The "in between" eras era between RotJ and TFA is one of my favorite sub-eras and I'd love more content. Aftermath, Bloodline, Mandalorian/BoBF/Ahsoka/etc (this counts, right?), Alphabet Squadron, Battlefield, etc are all fantastic. They depict a time in the storyline where chaos and desperation and confusion reign supreme. When I read any of the books from this time period, I always felt like I needed a shower afterward. Dirty, grimy, sweaty. I just need Mister Bones in live-action.
I feel like they waited too long for this. These kind of stories should’ve been told around the time of Ep7 &8. I get they didn’t know where those films were going but more content should’ve been announced during the hype of these movies.
@@CartoonyAndor There were several books depicting it already. They sucked yes, they were awful but what's done is done. Instead of going back and forth through the same stories told again and again, they should try new things.
I love jakku. The battlefront 1 map where you can see the super star destroyer crash was incredible at the time and is still pretty cool to play every once in a while. Alphabet squadrons take was also really unique.
I really love the concept of in between the eras, in between the prequels and originals and the originals and sequels, especially the whole remnants things they have, but I’m sad with the fact that there’s nothing about the old republic or anything like that still
I had a very weird dream last night. I was watching this Star Wars movie and this girl was trying to become Darth Zannah, while Darth Bane was training other potential candidates. Republic officers were investigating rumors about surviving Sith.
I remember playing this game, one of my favorites when I only had a tablet, I also remember calling the cops because I thought someone hacked my tablet because the servers went down, and never came back up
Think they make a 1 and done season on the Battle of Jakku. Ep 1 Republic focus, Ep 2 Empire focus, 3-5 planning with the end of ep 5 the battle is about to start, 6 & 7 just multiple views on the battle, ep 8 finishes it off.
More canon post-Endor stories about the New Republic and Empire are great to have but nothing will fix the writing flaw of having the entire empire collapse within two years.
@Hello-bi1pm It is objectively a flaw when you read how badly it was written to happen. How are we supposed to believe the Empire lost 200,000 star destroyers in two years? Remember each one carries a ground army to conduct any campaign, too. Mandolorian and other post Endor shows are walking back the choice by retconning the Imperial remnants back into existence.
I do want more out of the time between the originals and the sequels, but I also want to *see* more of if what happened between "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" (Not in comics. I do enjoy them, but shows are a better way to go when you want to expand on the lore.
I have to wonder if comics are the right place for this in 2024. When Disney bought Star Wars there was no streaming app so it made sense to tell the in-between stuff in books, games and comics. Now that we've got all the Disney+ shows wouldn't Disney rather save these bigger lore moments for streaming or a theatrical feature later? Like if Disney had planned ahead the Obi-Wan vs Maul re-match almost certainly would've happened on the Obi-Wan show instead of Rebels.
Live-action writers don't care what post-sequel lore people made since 2015. They either do their own thing or Legends fanbait like Filoni, so fans of the canon lore lose more while Legends fans complain the adaptation was wrong. Giving us a lose/lose situation.
I never got the battle of Jaku. I would have expected the "Empires final stand" to be something dramatic like the Battle of coruscant. The Capital of the Republic which has stood for hundreds of thousonds of years. Finally falls. Ending not only the Empire, but also that of the republic. Leaving the rebels to build something new. Not an Empire or Republic. But to learn from the mistakes of both to mark a new age in Galactic history... No there final stand is over a planet that literally no body cares about. Hell after the Empires fall the New republic did jack with it. I get that the empire was basically over after palpatines death (Or at least his first one *Sigh* ) but still... pretty lame...
So goad the Uprising story might finally get a proper conclusion, thought it was real nice how in Battlefront II it was broefly touched up by some Stormtroopers stationed on Bespin.
I had a weird dream that the new canon was just a weird dream. George Lucas just laughed when Kathleen Kennedy tried to get him to sell the rights of Star Wars to Disney. Timothy Zahn's Thrawn trilogy was adapted as the new sequel. George Lucas decided to make a series of the Old Republic following Revan's storyline starring Keanu Reeves. And the canceled Star Wars games ended up being finished and released.
Surprised Lucasfilm did not get used by Games workshop over that black armoured sniper character in uprising who looks suspiciously like a Cullexus Assassin.
...I thought this was news on a bigger and better Squadrons sequel akin to TIE Fighter and Titanfall 2, not some news about a big battle I don't care about anymore and some failure of a niche game.
man I wish they could stop creating random boring inquisitors. They are so fucking boring and uninteresting. The only purpose for their miserable existence in this godforsaken franchise is to have something the hero can defeat effortlessly at the end of every ""story"".
My thoughts are that the old EU is more canon than this new "canon." Disney constantly ignores or overwrites these new books. I have an entire WALL of EU books, and I've read every one. I have not even the slightest desire to read any of the new stuff. There's no point. Not even Disney cares about it, why should I? Why bother.
I’m sorry but the fall of the Empire in Disney canon will always be really stupid considering it has to accommodate the the terrible worldbuilding Disney has done in the SW timeline post-RotJ where the Empire fell exactly 1 year after the battle of Endor at Jakku for the stupid reason of having an excuse for why Jakku was covered with OT memorobilia in TFA.
I think we all know that Ahsoka, The Book Of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian are going to end with one giant team-up show or the final seasons depicting their individual perspectives on the battle of Jakku. Though that's just a random thought from me, probably more thought than Disney ever put into this franchise
It's not really sequel content, this comics will tell the story of Star Wars Uprising. The idea is that after Palpatine's death an imperial governator made an iron blocate around his sector, claiming that the empier won the battle of Endor. The scope of the rebelle aliance beeing to free these worlds.
NO! Absolutely not! the Battle of Jakku is arguably one of the WORST additions to Canon. The Galaxy spanning Empire fighting on a desolate sand planet for...what? The idea that even 10% of total Imperial forces could have fit onto that planet is idiotic in itself. No more crap from writers that casually watched Star Wars growing up and now pretend they were always diehard fans of the lore and little details. I'm over it and I'm at the point where I'll start letting losers who support it know exactly what I think of them at any cons or meetups. Get out and don't come back.
Oh man I still remember Star Wars Uprising. Miss that game.
We all do, brother
It was so good…
I wish I actually sat down and played it I only played like a good minute of it back in the day
That game was such a big part of my 2015 summer. So much nostalgia there
My favorite was Force Arena, but I'm still nostalgic for Uprising, it was a pretty fun way to get some solid lore
Still not over EA lying about that Empire campaign, we were so close man 😔
That's kinda sad.
