The writers don't get it. They think its all about the fame, glory and ego of being a hero. They make this mistake in every current day super hero series. "Go be a hero", "You will be a hero", Super girl says "she wants to be more famous then her brother". Its not about being a hero! Its about doing the right thing. Protecting the weak and expecting NOTHING in return.
You can have hunting rifles and shotguns in Britian easily enough, especially if you live in the country side. Handguns are very difficult to get though.
