Your intro described everything i have been doing for years. Get so stuck in the grind, i ended up delaying this for years. Finaly doing this now. Thanks for the tutorial.
Just discovered your channel - and already you provided a bunch of great tips - I was thinking about making my own template for archviz projects to save time and cut all the migrating, plugin enabling, settings changing bs I had to go through every time I start - now, time to take care of it finaly ;)
Very useful stuff!. I wonder if you would make something probably usable turning it all not just a template but a an asset pack to simply add in the content. usually I've got to add third person and vehicles packs. I've tried to find out how to do it myself but failed miserably!
Does this work with projects that use the "Enhanced Input" (the new*ish* recommended way of handling input)? I tried to make a template immediately after setting up a basic FPS character that uses Enhanced Input, but I ran into lots of problems where it wouldn't create a project based of this template (starting saying failed to locate the uproject file which did exist). Unreal Engine developers should consider adding a UI widget in the Editor to save the current project as a template anyway in my opinion.
Absolutely Fantastic tutorial and an amazing workflow tip, thank you, But I am having a little trouble with the photoshop bit, I have photoshop 2023 but struggling to understand this small part of the tutorial right at the end of this, any help will be much appreciated. Thank you.
Hi, thanks for the amizng content as usual, I just had a question:How would I just create a "games project" with just 1 blank level? Whenever I open a "blank" games project it has the default landscape. I know I can create a new level inside the project to make it actually blank but then the previous landscape level would still exist inside my project making it heavier. I've also tried deleting the landscape in the dfault level but I am unable to delte the world partition mini map and hlod Thanks in advance for your help ;)
Thanks for this how do you deal with converting your template to the new version? Do you just simply convert it? I find a lot of the time we get issues when doing it that way.
Yes, I just converted it. So far, no issues but setting up a new file once or twice a year and reevaluate what assets you actually need might be a good idea as well.
Is it possible to have different projects read the same asset directory? What I mean is, for example when I use Megascan, I will have different instances of the same asset in each projects directories since UE copies it everytime. And in the long run it will fill my storage as Megascan assets are pretty heavy especially when using Nanite.
Hey thanks for that !! It works great ! Would you happen to know why the animation of the legs of the metahuman are the only thing not properly transferred/copied ? If I create a new project the animation of the legs isn't working anymore. I replaced Manny with a metahuman, that's the only part that does not seem to love template-ting :)
@@NicoLinde I think the whole project/composition is interesting. Most people know how to download assets, but placing them right, or lighting them correct is something you see extremely good at. Very keen to look into the hood of that project!
@@FirstArtChannel Sadly the license agreement of the assets I use do not allow me to share the whole project. But I plan to make Complete scenes available in the future!
@@NicoLinde Just found your channel and after seeing this video I thought I would also love to have a template which would allow me to just drag n drop assets without downloading anything.
MOUNTAIN SHADER TUTORIAL PLEASE 🙏 I really struggle with getting something custom and good looking, quickly... and your setup looks like magic.
Finally! An Unreal user on MacOs! Thats as rare as finding a live Mammoth...

Sorry, I have absolutely no clue 😔
I would imagine you can still go back to that template file to add or remove stuff. Right?
Absolutely!
I cant figure out why its not working for me. Any tips are welcomed.

Would love to download some of your files, would you mind putting them on Gumroad?
Most assets I use are available online for free. Which ones do you mean exactly?

😂thanks dude@
Just copy the project folder somewhere, open project from there, done. Why all this in the video I have no idea.
