  • Wow! Just Wow! You guys need to see see how much these ladies have grown in such a short time! it’s been little over 5 weeks since my last video but i think it’s fair to say the have almost doubled in numbers! I think it’s fair to say i has destroyed the myth that Carebara diversa need naturalistic set ups! Mine never have been in one and they are doing well!

    Very nice!! Impressive that you can keep them successfully in the artificial setup, I've never been able to!
    Oh and btw, the way you can tell if you have the largest size of supermajors is the thorax. The largest size supermajors have a sort of extra hump on their thorax that the other majors and supermajors don't have. By the looks of it the supermajor at 9:08 is the largest supermajor size. You can tell that the thorax has this extra big and spiny hump that the smaller major on the same shot doesn't have.

      @@antshood3324 They were purchased online with 4 queens and 4000 workers, but ended up dying out after temperatures dropped to below freezing in Yunnan, China :(

      Well if you watch my play list on these ladies, you will see everything I do with them and any tips I have, but for nests I think the wakooshi ms nests have done really well.

      @@antshood3324 Atm im doing fine, im planning on doing a last and third try to successfully keep ants. As the Nicobarensis queen sadly passed away due to extreme hot weather. My last try will be an Messor Barbarus colony in an already made setup. Fr hope its gonna work this time! But hows you?

      Well with my wife leaving me and trying to spend as much time away from home that I can (still live with my ex wife) I don’t have much time to do videos and look after my ants. At the moment I’m doing just enough to keep them ticking over, but when I move into my own place I will be back on it. Reference your ants, if you want to DM me, I’ll see what advice I can give to help you keep a successful colony.

      it happens matey, i just have to move on. messors are okay and easy to look after if you can leave the queen alone, they do. not react well to any disturbance at all

    Still have the Geminata? Or have you given them away? If you ever give a shot as raising this species again, keeping them in Test Tubes or a Formisqarium of some sort would be an amazing idea!

      They are great to be honest. Only thing I found is they were slow to get started, I didn’t have much in the area of impressive growth until recently.

    Question for you have u ever tryd to breed ants in captivity ? Do u think it can work out ?

      No I haven’t. The only ants you can really breed in captivity would be ones that inbreed in the nests. If they require a flight I don’t know anyone that has managed to do it. I know some people in native colonies will open the widow for when they get the environmental que too, but you cant really control it so you can retrieve the now mated queen.

      @@antshood3324 theres a few nests near me of honey pots i see the males amd queens but they are not flying yet they hang around the entrance so im guessing its not yet the right time possibly not hot enough

      @@antshood3324 hows it going brother yea this actually doesn't work like the videos jere claim think its mostly a clout chasing thing here the males lastes 2 days at most unmated queens are starting to die lil by lil but i did head back out to the trsil and luckily i came across 10 wingless red head honey pot queens i just finished setting them up in test tubes
