The most memorable moment from Tommy is when he said “I got the drawls dog” and pulled them out his pocket. I used to recreate that moment with my due rag with my friends in high school.
Right And thats why we'll never get to see them together in a sitcom again. Its okay tho. Some things are to stay as they are. They couldn't possibly eclipse the greatness of that show.
Fox had a nice 3 piece. Martin, Living Single, and New York Undercover. I miss those days. I'm not sure if they have the same magic. That show captured a whole generation of people. Everything perfectly worked out.
They should leave it alone. Won’t be the same no matter what they do. Reboot or a new storyline with different characters. The fans will hate to see them together without it actually having any connections to the Martin show we know & if they roboot the Martin show we know it wouldn’t be the same without tommy
It's weird to say that a group of talented people with maturity and proven chemistry shouldn't work together. All good things aren't just in the past. Judging by this video, it seems like 'Martin' the show barely had a chance to stretch its wings before it started dying from the inside.
I’m mad that this mentions nothing about Tisha Campbell’s and Martin’s affair early on in the series.... it just made it seem like he was desperate to have her..... also it didn’t state the fact that Tisha Campbell only sued the show after she was sued for breech of contract after she walked off during the 5th season.... now I’m not saying she lied about anything but damn this entire rhetoric was one sided.....

I think a 1 time reunion show would be good but not a whole sitcom with multiple episodes. This way we can get closure with the characters, pay tribute to Tommy & not do anything to mess up the legacy of the show anymore than the last season did.

A reunion show where they all come back together in Detroit for Tommy’s funeral would be bomb....all the old cast come back we can even figure out Tommy’s job 😉
That's a great idea. But go back and watch the very 1st season somewhere in the first couple of episodes Tommy revealed that he was a Counselor but then it was never mentioned again we forgot about it and "You ain't got no job" became classic. Tisha Campbell confirmed it on social media when Tommy passed away. But I agree they still could give us that too in a reunion
I miss Martin I've seen every episode about a hundred times I can recite the shows I seen um so much Martin was the show to watch after a long hard day or if u were sad smoke a joint and watch Martin
This is wrong wrong wrong FAIL. Martin was actually involved with Tisha Campbell but not in an official relationship with her so when she got with Duane she cut it off, Duane also told her I don’t want you around Martin because he knew Martin wasn’t going to respect their relationship. That lead to the groping incident being forced into action by Duane and it led to the end of Martin & Gina also why Duane doesn’t get along with Martin to this day,
RIP Tommy. I remember meeting him working at AMC theater in South Miami and he was super down to earth man. I remember asking him how he gon pay for the popcorn he ordered when he dont have no job. His laugh was genuine man i'll never forget that
I will always watch Martin. Never gets old. 2019 and still watching reruns on a regular. Respect the fact they want to do something fresh with Tommy's passing but ultimately it seems like it'd be the same thing... unless they literally crafted a new show with completely different character personas. I suppose that's doable but fans would naturally want the growth of their Martin characters to make their return. Fans would understand and accept the Martin continuation but maybe it's just easier to bear the shift without Tommy by formulating something new. It's all good. Just bring the crew back and I'll be there to watch.

I never really knew any of the inner story of that show, though I did hear about Martin having a crazy-in-public incident back then because he talked about it for about half of a feature-length concert video, and that video was the last I saw of him for quite a while aside from a movie or two. This all reminds me of two things at once: Brett Butler had a show around that time which similarly self-destructed due mostly to the star's behavior, and using a comedy concert as a place for extended discussion of one's own legal and personal issues reminds me of Lenny Bruce. It's inspiring to see that Martin has made amends with his co-stars because everybody on that show contributed to the chemistry. It may have been called 'Martin' but the chemistry of the cast is what made it possible for Martin to have a great showcase for his talent. Creation of the platform for the talent to shine is a highly underrated skill. I would love to see them work together again, especially knowing that they are more mature and seem to have mutual respect instead.
It really feels good to see them together👍 and feels rights for them to create something united im really looking forward and im sure i'm not alone 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
For some reason i can not find that Martin Lawrence SNL monlogue anywhere. Its like NBC scrubbed it from the internet. You got me curious as heck to see it now. lol But i loved the Martin show growing up.
Sailor Mercury There isn't any footage of it anywhere, but I remember watching it live. He started with a routine about Lorena Bobbitt chopping off John Bobbitt's thing. He then segued into a routine about women not washing their ass, basically the same routine from You So Crazy, where he talked about going down on a woman and finding out she has a yeast infection. He did the same routine on SNL but without the cursing. He even finished it with the same line from the movie, "This look like a good place for a Stick-up!" That routine is what got him banned from NBC.
Grew up with this show. Loved it. RIP Tommy. I would love to see new episodes, but unfortunately, things can never be the same as they once were. Thanks for creating and posting this video.
I’m here after the reunion show aired. They didn’t address why the show ended, so thanks for this video. I didn’t know 🤷🏻♀️ They all seemed to have matured and are in a good places. A nice send off for Tommy. No reboot needed. The show was magic…don’t mess that up…go watch reruns.
Just got here to u.s.a up on release. I have a lot of fun watching it today. Unlike any group I am thrilled to here you are coming back. too much talent and chemistry to be thrown away. Good luck, I ll be waitting😉
Tisha Campbell Martin's husband was a major factor in the whole thing. Jealousness of Martin Lawrence turned into some BS claims of harrasment from Martin Lawrence towards Tisha egged on by Dwayne Martin. That's was the whole nut in the shell. Boom!!
Then years later her & dwayne are divorced. She should've chose Martin. Not only would it have saved the show, it would've saved him from all that he did back in the day. Its funny how now that they divorced she's always commenting under his photos & talking about bringing the show back. But now he's married & looks over here. All those years wasted bc of Dwayne's jealously.
Man I remember being shocked the show was being canceled. Martin was the face of Black tv at the time and yet appealed to other races as well. Would be nice to have a reunion episode.
Thank you, this answered all my questions for why it ended and where they are now. Great mini documentary. Yes, I think a news show will be a great idea.
Very educational and seem to be honest video. They should probably do another version of Martin with Martin, Gina, Pam, and cole before they get to old and do nothing.
I remember reading Martin had bipolar disorder and stopped taking his medicine which didn’t help his behavior. I hope they do something together in the future. They had such great chemistry
@@shaorl67 I've seen a few documentaries om him. He was very jealous of Martins career and made her say those things thats why as soon as they divorced she reconciled w Martin
The Martin show was really funny at first but I noticed in the later seasons, it was a different Martin....he wasn't playing the characters he played in the earlier shows, it lost something....no reboot, let it RIP
That would have been so wack!! What made the show awesome was Tisha's and Martin's romantic chemistry and Tichina and Martin's arguing. That's why when Tisha left the show wasn't the same. Don't allow your love or dislike for someone cloud your logic.
My fave show of all time my grammama used to record syndicated eps for me on vhs so when i visited i had some shit to watch 😢 good times. Well now i live in Japan and can use all the Martin material no one knows xD
that was the times back then, 49 years of age now, one of the things I learned, once was good at that time, most of the times it will never be same won't feel the same. Times has change now, people change most of the characters don't look as good anymore, I'll say leave it alone, if they do come back they really need to come back hard and strong!! all it takes is for me to watch the first episode, if not good I will not watch again. Love you all and God Bless.
Thank you for giving me closure

Classic comedy. The rebooted Roseann, why not Martin. No blk reboots on tv.😢😜
Wasn't he yelling "they're trying to kill me" in the middle of the street
Yup...he didn't wanna be apart of that hellish Hollywood scene anymore
This show will never get old..... I still watch n crack up like its the 1st time❤
Do the Jamie foxx show
I believe they should leave the show alone. It’s a classic, and it should stay a classic.
For some reason i can not find that Martin Lawrence SNL monlogue anywhere. Its like NBC scrubbed it from the internet. You got me curious as heck to see it now. lol
But i loved the Martin show growing up.
@Rellz Tv Thanks. :)
You can find it on Hulu...they have all the snl episodes
Sailor Mercury There isn't any footage of it anywhere, but I remember watching it live. He started with a routine about Lorena Bobbitt chopping off John Bobbitt's thing. He then segued into a routine about women not washing their ass, basically the same routine from You So Crazy, where he talked about going down on a woman and finding out she has a yeast infection. He did the same routine on SNL but without the cursing. He even finished it with the same line from the movie, "This look like a good place for a Stick-up!" That routine is what got him banned from NBC.
JBiz80 did the routine work live? Was he getting laughs?
Neodobby good question my nigga
Grew up with this show. Loved it. RIP Tommy. I would love to see new episodes, but unfortunately, things can never be the same as they once were. Thanks for creating and posting this video.
Martin Lawrence is one of the most underrated comedians ever.
The Martin show would forever bee the best of all times I missed these days but nothing last forever I enjoy every bit of it 😊♥️🔥💯
Just got here to u.s.a up on release.
Rest in peace, Tommy! It won't be the same without him!
Man I remember being shocked the show was being canceled. Martin was the face of Black tv at the time and yet appealed to other races as well.
Would be nice to have a reunion episode.
“Imma call you almond joy” 😭😭😭😭😭 Bentley a 🐐
Thanks for this also Rest In Peace tommy.
Thank you, this answered all my questions for why it ended and where they are now. Great mini documentary. Yes, I think a news show will be a great idea.
Very educational and seem to be honest video. They should probably do another version of Martin with Martin, Gina, Pam, and cole before they get to old and do nothing.
Cool story and narration young man. Well put together
I remember reading Martin had bipolar disorder and stopped taking his medicine which didn’t help his behavior. I hope they do something together in the future. They had such great chemistry
I'm glad he patched things up with Tisha!!! He was really going thru it back then. Glad he came back on top!!!!!
Now that she got a divorce from her loser husband who messed everything up in the first place 😠
@@Chitownhomestead how’d you know if her husband was a loser? & how did he mess things up? Lol
@@shaorl67 I've seen a few documentaries om him. He was very jealous of Martins career and made her say those things thats why as soon as they divorced she reconciled w Martin
Lol..... now I’m curious what he said on SNL!!! 😂😂😂😂
ComeBack Yall, I Know
R.I.P KING Tommy, IT WONT BE THA SAME, but WE NEED THIS...THIS WAS PART OF THE GOLDEN ERA💯
The Martin show was really funny at first but I noticed in the later seasons, it was a different Martin....he wasn't playing the characters he played in the earlier shows, it lost something....no reboot, let it RIP
Mann i knew pam and gina were real friends there chemistry on set always seemed kinda real and they been in a few shows together
I always thought Pam should have been Martin girlfriend not Gina
I agree with u pam should me is girlfriend for real not gina
wonda that's why Martin was mad in season 5 because he's stuck with Bighead
That would have been so wack!! What made the show awesome was Tisha's and Martin's romantic chemistry and Tichina and Martin's arguing. That's why when Tisha left the show wasn't the same. Don't allow your love or dislike for someone cloud your logic.
I would love to see a re-boot, a movie, a mini-series -- whatever. I loved Martin.
I wonder how long "Martin" could've ran if it hadn't gotten cancelled after five seasons.
It would’ve got more worse
Leave greatness alone.
I just want them to give us something. People really loved that show
Man i love your mini documentaries.
